Are you ready for Phil?
I can here the music in my head as I type this. The sound of it gets me so pumped up. The Amazing Race is the best reality show on TV. (I will say Survivior on Thursday) Season 14 starts tonight at 8pm on CBS. Eleven teams depart from Los Alamitos, CA & fly to Switzerland to bungee jump off a dam. Phil is ready. I’m ready. Are you ready? More after the jump!

Every show is new tonight. ABC has it’s 7pm staple, America’s Funniest Home Videos.

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition is on at 8pm. A North Carolina in-home, day care center is rebuilt while Ty ships the family off to Puerto Rico. This show is too extreme for me these days. In this economic crunch, I would hope that they don’t make these places so extraordinary, that the home owners lose it in a few years because they can’t afford to maintain it.

Previously built “make-over” home.

Desperate Housewives airs at 9pm. Susan gets a job. Mike lets Katherine babysit. Lynette wants to sell the pizza place. Carlos gets a bonus. Gaby knows a dirty secret. Bree gives Andrew a raise in his pants. Orson wants a raise in his pants too & Dave’s not liked by the neighbors. This all in one episode!

Brothers & Sisters follows at 10pm with it’s own soap opera drama. These people are nothing like my brother & sisters.

These skanks need to be pre-soaked.

Dateline NBC starts at 7pm. Chris Hansen is showing us 10 death-defying incidents caught on camera. It seems that cameras catch almost everything these days. Makes me afraid to pick a wedgie at Wal-Mart. It might just make the news if I pick up a piece of fruit afterwards.

The conclusion of the 2-part mini-series XIII airs at 9pm. In case you don’t remember it, this dude is found in the woods with the tattoo XIII on his chest. He has amnesia & the first female president has just been assassinated & he’s the #1 suspect. There are some terrorist attacks & Val Kilmer thrown in to make it more compelling!

I’m compelled to switch the channel Val.
FOX’s Sunday night cartoon line-up is all-new with The Simpsons at 8pm. Tonight is their first night in HD & they have swayed a bit from their usual opening in honor of the event.

CBS, of course, has The Amazing Race at 8pm. This is followed by Cold Case at 9pm. Finally The Unit is back. It airs at 10pm with a new episode. Is it just me, or has this show been gone for awhile. Seems like forever to me. The team is sent after a Nazi war criminal & Tom is offered the position of General.

A “Phil” moment!
HBO has my favorite drama, Big Love, at 9pm tonight. Did you see Nikki give Roman a kick down the stairs last week? Priceless! I, personally, can’t wait to see what Bill’s mom, Lois, does next. I just hope Anna disappears.

Flight of the Conchords is at 10pm. I’ve tried twice now, to see the humor in this show. I think it’s just stupid & boring! I guess I’m just not intellectual enough.

HBO is trying out another comedy at 10:30pm. The premiere of Eastbound & Down is produced by Will Ferrell. It’s about a “foul-mouthed, mullet-wearing”, former MLB pitcher, Kenny Powers, played by Danny McBride (co-writer with Ben Best). This has-been is trying to get back into the major leagues but he’s a total asshole to everyone around him. He’s always drunk & loves cocaine for a little pick-me-up. There’s alot of “f*ck this & f*ck that”, from what I’ve read. I’m not a fan of Will Ferrell so I’m already not liking it. There are only six episodes, so maybe it will just fade away like so many other HBO comedies.

I play an asshole on TV.
MTV is continuing with it’s new Sunday night line-up. It starts with Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory at 9pm. College Humor follows at 9:30pm. Nitro Circus at 10pm & How’s Your News at 10:30pm.

SHOWTIME has The L-Word at 9pm, The United States of Tara at 10pm & The Secret Diary of a Call Girl at 10:30pm.

NGC has three Known Universe in one night, at 8, 9 & 10pm.

E! is airing two new Girls Next Door at 10 & 10:30pm. I thought these girls were traded in for newer models? What are they still doing there?

SPIKETV ‘s got two new episodes of 1000 Ways to Die at 10 & 10:30pm.

Good place for a “Phil” break
TLC has World’s Heaviest Man Gets Married at 8pm. Amazing Love Stories at 9pm & Incredible Weddings at 10pm. This is their “Valentine Night of Love” & no one does it better than TLC. I’m sure we will see some of the most bizarre match-ups ever filmed. They have become the TV version of “Weekly World News”, that newspaper I used to buy at the checkout.

“Can we swing by the drive-thru?”
FOOD Network has a new Ultimate Recipe Showdown at 9pm. Tonight is the final episode and four home cooks compete to see who has the best hometown recipe in the country. The winning cook takes home $25,000 and gets their recipe put on the menu at TGI Friday’s nationwide. Some of the recipes are chicken & waffle sandwiches, BBQ’d pork, seared cod, clam cakes, stuffed trout & crab soup. I thought chicken & waffles was just a joke.

“Who the hell ate my chicken & waffles?”
For those who don’t feel like thinking too much tonight, VH1 has Confessions of a Teen Idol at 8pm. The has-beens are going out on more auditions bvegging for someone to remember them.

At 9pm, it’s my favorite skank show, Rock of Love Bus with Bret Michaels. It’s the MUD BOWL!!! Nothing better than a bunch of whores fighting in the mud. Cudos to the producers for thinking up this game. On a sad note, one of the girl’s dad dies. (reality sneeks in on the ‘reality’ show).

At 10pm, it’s Tool Academy. It’s down to four asshats. The girlfriends move into the house with them. Each of these idiots has to prove he is the most romantic. Aren’t cheaters always romantic?

I hate those new girls!
Well, there ya have it kids. There’s some good & some bad on tonight. I’m sticking with Phil & The Amazing Race & of course, Big Love & the Rock of Love Bus. What are you going to watch? If you want, you can join us in the chatroom in our forums for the AR premiere. We can experience it together.

Just an excuse to post one more picture of Phil.

I’m super excited for the race tonight! So of course, I’ll be watching it, along with Cold Case and Brothers & Sisters. Sunday is a good night to stay at home and watch some TV! :-)

I really missed The Unit. I’m glad it’s back…but they tried to cram too much into this week’s episode.

And Yay! The Amazing Race! But I don’t like the new version of their theme…
