Was it his marketable image that put Kris in the ‘winner’s circle’?
It’s been a week since our new American Idol has been crowned & the controversy continues. At the top of the news, there are claims that tutorials in power-texting at two American Idol viewing parties in Arkansas helped hometown boy Kris Allen defeat Adam Lambert. More on this & the final “finale week” ratings after the jump…..
Here’s the dirt on the newest “rigging the votes” controversy on American Idol. A few AT&T employees were invited to “Idol” parties in Arkansas & “they brought a small number of demo phones with them and provided texting tutorials to those who were interested.”
The “Tweens” didn’t vote for the gay guy.
FOX’s statement: “Fox and the producers of American Idol are absolutely certain that the results of this competition are fair, accurate and verified. Kris Allen is, without a doubt, the American Idol. We have an independent third-party monitoring procedure in place to ensure the integrity of the voting process. In no way did any individuals unfairly influence the outcome of the competition.”
IMO, I don’t trust any of this texting or on-line voting. I think it’s all rigged. Look at the finale winners of the two top-rated shows. The squeaky clean, all-American boy won out over the openly gay dude with eyeliner on Idol & over at DWTS, the all-American Olympic Gold Medalist won out over the French actor who’s only claim to fame was showing his overly large penis in a movie. It all ends with money & who will be most marketable over the next year. Adam & Gilles were ROBBED! Enough said, let’s move on to this weeks ratings.
We were canceled because we didn’t make the “Top Ten”. We were #11.
You can bet that this is FOX’s last week on top. CBS will reclaim that spot now that things will go back to what they were before AI season. They have 10 shows on the list. The canceled Without a Trace came in at #11 for it’s finale & still no sign of NBC. Maybe they should start snatching up CBS’ axed shows. Oh, I forgot, they have Leno now.
Glee made the list at #14, but it dropped almost 10 million viewers from the American Idol lead-in.

Here’s how some of the other shows ended their seasons:
Meatloaf & his daughter Pearl, walked away with $500,000 for their charity, opting to run with the cash rather than try for that million dollar song.
Law & Order: SVU NBC 6.9mil (#1 on NBC)

Cable Networks are dominated by the NBA Playoff games on TNT & ESPN in the “Top Five” spots bringing in 8.9mil at #1. The WWE Wrestling follows right behind with 5.2mil viewers.
Now don’t forget, TLC’s Jon & Kate Plus 8‘s new season & its record breaking ratings of 9.8 million watching didn’t air till May 25th, so it’s sure to be #1 on next week’s list.
Don’t you think watching this is a tad uncomfortable.
I’m not a big fan of Jon & Kate Plus 8. I prefer the Roloff’s on Little People, Big World. Here comes the “but”, I think the Kate-hate is uncalled for. So what if she has a TV show. The fact that she had 6 kids at one time & has to care for them, plus two others, is not a reason to dislike her. It’s that cheating, piece of shit husband, parading around with a 23 yr old girl, that deserves the hate. He’s worthless! If it wasn’t for his wife, he wouldn’t have a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out. As the mother of 3, two of which are twins, I can relate to her. She can be a whining, condescending bitch at times, but I can too. (& I only had 3 kids). Now she has to play out this nightmare on TV. (I’m sure they have contract obligations & after that ratings bonanza, I’m sure TLC would like the show to continue). All the pretend stuff is gone & we have real reality to watch. I feel bad for them all (but not that excuse making, spineless slug of a husband).
Daisy of Love has more class than Jon!
Some of the other cable shows & their ratings:
Deadliest Catch DSC 2.5mil
The Hills MTV 2.2mil
Ax Men HISTORY 1.8mil
Rescue Me FX 1.6mil
Real Housewives of NJ BRAVO 1.4mil
Daisy of Love VH1 1.1mil
I think that’s it for this week. I can’t wait to see how the new shows do next week. Will they make the list or will CBS repeats take control?

I gave Glee a try…and I didn’t hate it. It has potential, but has to decide what exactly it wants to be. And dump the side story about the Glee conductor’s home life. His wife is irritating, and disrupts the flow of the show.
