Friday: Howie Does It!

Who’s watching you these days? Are you safe? Can we escape the ‘hidden camera’? Another show premieres tonight, just to spy on us. I don’t know about you, but I’m afraid to pick the wedgie out of my ass-crack these days…………

“Howie Do It” has to be the dumbest title for a TV show. I keep wanting to say Howdy do-de!. Well, “Howie Do It” premieres tonight on NBC at 8pm. Howie Mandel wanted his own TV show. He’s a comedian, not a gameshow host. NBC obliged. This will be his version of “Candid Camera”. I’ve seen him do this in the past. It’s been very funny. He is usually the one f*ckin’ with the unsuspecting public. I have great hopes for this show. Seems to be an awful lot of hidden cameras out there these days. I’m afraid to leave the house. I will stay in and watch Howie.

“Flashpoint” is another new show premiering tonight on CBS at 9pm. It was originally a Canadian TV show which CBS aired (to good ratings) over the past summer. It’s sandwiched between “Ghost Whisperer” at 8pm & “NUMB3RS” at 10pm, so it’s in a really good time slot. With CBS’ success rate with dramas, this could be another one. It involves an SRU (special rescue unit) crew who, in this first episode, are assigned to protect a gazillionaire & his wife. Problem is, the wife gets kidnapped. (Where were the SRU?… outside for a ciggie break?) The wifenappers don’t want money, they want Mr. Richguy to admit he’s a bad guy too. It’s up to the SRU team to save the wife that they should have been guarding in the first place!

USA sees the return of “Monk” at 9pm & “Pysch” at 10pm. It was speculated at one point that these two shows would not return for another season & here they are. I am a Tony Shaloub fan, so this makes me happy. My hubby says that “The Mentalist” is a rip-off of “Pysch”. What do you think?

The series finale & 101st episode of “Stargate Atlantis” is at 9pm, which was “written as a thank you to its legions of loyal fans.”. The show will be chock-full of returning cast from the past 5 years. There will be a final battle with the Wraith which is threatening to destroy earth. (maybe this should be on the History Channel!) A new “Sanctuary” follows at 10pm.

TLC has “What Not to Wear” at 9pm and then we have another new & exciting episode of “Miss America: Countdown to the Crown” at 10pm. I sure hope some catfights break out tonight. Last week was a real yawnfest. These dumbass girls just aren’t as entertaining as the “Love Bus” girls riding around with Bret Michaels. Now those girls are true Miss America contenders.

The 13th season of “Comedy Central Presents…” airs on the network with the same name at 10pm & 10:30pm with Kurt Metzger as the first stand-up of the season followed by Doug Benson.

ABC has all new shows tonight:

“Wife Swap” at 8pm. A roller-derby loving doctor swaps with a mom who loves beauty pageants.

“Supernanny” at 9pm. The usual bratfest.

“20/20″ at 10pm.

NBC has a new “Lipstick Jungle” at 9pm & “Dateline” at 10pm.

FOX has opted to run a movie. “Bruce Almighty” is on at 8pm. (2003) Jim Carrey becomes God for awhile thanks to the man himself, Morgan Freeman.

The CW has a new “Everybody Hates Chris” at 8pm. A new “The Game” at 8:30pm, followed by a repeat of their new show, “13: Fear is Real” at 9pm.

CMT has a new episode of “My Redneck Wedding” at 9pm with Tom Arnold as the host. They turn couches into swings. What a great idea. I’m seriously gonna try that this summer.

HISTORY is still trying to scare the hell out of me with “Last Days on Earth” at 8pm. They tell us 7 ways the Earth could be destroyed. Just what I need. I’m never going to leave the house. Between asteroids hurling to earth & all the hidden cameras everywhere, nobody’s safe.

NGC has a new “Dog Whisperer” at 8pm. Cesar has to deal with a pomeranian who has anxiety attacks & a shar-pei that’s terrified when his owner sneezes. How the hell do you fix that. I guess some prozac & a good antihistamaine could do the trick.

E! has “The Soup” at 10pm with Joel McHale & Lou dishes it out. (It’s Miley!!!) At 10:30pm it’s “Get a Room: 10 Most Inappropriate Make-out Moments”. Wow, that sounds soooo interesting! Can’t wait to see what #1 could be. Probably Madonna kissing somebody or everybody. She’s such a tonguer.

That’s it kiddies. I’m giving Howie a chance tonight. I sure he’ll be great. If not, I’ll switch to “Last Days on Earth” and hide under the bed.
