…… in with the new!
Real Housewives of New York starts it’s second season tonight at 11pm on BRAVO. There’s a new housewife in the neighborhood. Kelly Killoren Bensmon, a model/designer who doesn’t like inappropriate behavior, especially in public. (boy did she pick the wrong show). The producers promise lots of fighting & inappropriate behavior this season, starting right off with a ‘war of words’ at a press conference for a high profile tennis match. But it’s in with the new & out with the old at BRAVO. See what’s up after the jump……
BRAVO says goodbye to the Real Housewives of Orange County in their season #4 finale at 10pm. The housewives, past & present, have their ‘end of summer’ party. We get to see everyone’s family. We meet Scott & Brenda, who are Gretchen’s parents. Ryan, Tamra’s son, shows up to do more tequila shots with Gretchen, since her hubby wasn’t allowed out of the hospital. We also meet Tamra’s mom, Sandra, and her “new” face. There is lots of drinking & reminiscing at the end & the housewives depart, looking forward to trashing up BRAVO next season.
“I’m here to lick the salt off Gretchen’s neck.”
Damn woman! Put those glasses back on that “new” face!
It’s a big night on FOX at 8pm. American Idol gives us the first 12 of the 36 contestants & we, the public, finally get to run up our cell phone bill because voting begins tonight! It’s finally our turn to have a say on who we think deserves to move forward. Of the first group of 12, nine will be eliminated this week. Those advancing will be the guy with the most votes, the woman with the most votes and the highest vote getter of either gender. I haven’t bothered to vote since season #3, when Jennifer Hudson was shockingly eliminated & that toad, Fantasia won. I’m hoping this season changes my mind. Did you know that alot of these ’36′ have been on other reality shows? Well, they have. Do you think the producers & judges knew that ahead of time? Just not as random as it looks, but they never are, are they.
Brian Keith Smith came in 6th on Nashville Star, season #2.
CBS has it’s usual ratings high line-up for tonight. All-new episodes of NCIS at 8pm, The Mentalist at 9pm, & Without a Trace at 10pm.
NBC has The Biggest Loser: Couples at 8pm. It’s “climb a mountain” night. Whoever gets to the top first, gets a key to the new super-sophisticated gym so they can work off those pounds in style. This is followed by a new Law & Order: SVU at 10pm.
ABC has Homeland Security USA at 8pm. There’s a double dose of Scrubs at 9 & 9:30pm. Primetime: “What Would You Do?” is on at 10pm. Tonight they set up a man trying to get a child to help him find his lost puppy. It’s the classic “stranger danger” ploy. How many people passing by ignore the scene? In another scenerio, an obviously confused, elderly man tries to drive away with his two grandchildren in the car. Does anyone stop him? This show is like Candid Camera, but not funny & it’s ten times better than Howie Do it, which isn’t funny either.
“Yes, I agree, Howie Do it sucks. That’s why I stopped the kid from watching it.”
The CW is once again running repeats. I don’t think I will even mention them anymore, unless they are showing some new episodes. For tonight though, they are running 90210 at 8pm & Privileged at 9pm.
Mike Rowe performs his 200th job tonight on Dirty Jobs at 9pm on DSC. That job is rebuilding locomotives in Boise, Idaho. Don’t ya just love Mike. He makes getting dirty actually look fun. (or at least watching him get dirty). He was in my neck of the woods one time to do a dirty job. He came to the coastlines of Lake Erie to catch & record water snakes. While here, he met a guy doing an even dirtier job, clearing the algae away from the break walls. Gotta love the guy who does that job.
Oh Mike, you dirty dog you!
FX has a new Nip/Tuck at 10pm.
HISTORY has How the Earth Was Made at 9pm.
TLC has two episodes of 17 kids & Counting at 9 & 9:30pm. Toddlers & Tiaras airs at 10pm. It’s the 2008 “Chitlin’ Strut Beauty Pageant” in Salley, SC.
MTV has another new show airng tonight at 9pm. It’s Dogg After Dark with, of course, Snopp Dogg. He’s got his own variety show, with celebrity interviews, comedy skits & musical performances. It’s only a half-hour show, but I think this will be a good show, don’t you?
T.I.’s Road to Redemption follows at 9:30pm. 38 days to go on his community service & T.I. stages an intervention with a teenage gangbanger in Atlanta.
At 10pm, it’s From G’s to Gents
Tonight on MTV at 10pm.
FOOD Network has another Chopped at 10pm. Tonight three chefs must make a 3-course meal & a dessert from these three ingredients, Canned peaches, rice cakes, & beets. I’m a huge fan of peaches, but the other two are not what I call fine dining ingredients. It will be interesting to see what they do with them.
“What Would You Do?”
Lastly, tonight is the first part of the two-part finale of Leverage at 10pm. This one hits close to home for Nate & is the reason he started his little team of modern day Robin Hood thieves. They are out to destroy insurance CEO Ian Blackpoole, who denied coverage to Nate’s son, resulting in his death. Nate worked for this company at the time. I’m sure this will be an intense & compelling story. I plan on watching this tonight.
Robin Hood & his Merry Persons?
By the way, before I close for the night, did anyone watch Heroes last night? I recorded it, but I’m going to delete it, without watching, if you guys tell me it sucked ass again. Did it?
Hope you enjoy a great night of television tonight. Tomorow is ratings day & LOST! I’m so excited. I can’t wait to see if Locke stopped the island from skipping.
love

Chooch! I also stopped voting for AI after the Jennifer Hudson bullshit. That was my final straw. Now I watch, but try not to get too invested in anyone.
I don’t know what’s happened to Heroes. I thought this episode sucked hard. Again.
With Bryan Fuller returning, I am still holding out hope – I believe next week starts the episodes he’s involved in again. I really hope he can bring what what made me love this show in the beginning.
