…… find something to watch other than balls.
The Inauguration of Barack Obama as our 44th President of the United States will dominate the airwaves most of the day. Specials will be telecast tonight recapping all the things that aired during the day. Let’s get that list of network coverage out of the way first, so we can see what else is on.
ABC has the most extensive coverage of all the networks. It started early this morning & will run straight through till 5pm. The local affilliates take over for their news, weather & sports, followed by the national news at 6pm. Coverage of The Neighborhood Ball: An Inauguration Celebration begins at 8pm. There will be performances by Sasha Fierce, Mary J. Blige, Mariah Carey, Faith Hill, Jay-Z, Alicia Keyes, Shakira & Stevie Wonder. At 10pm, A Moment in History: The Inauguration of Barack Obama recaps our new president’s campaign to the White House and a recap of the days events. It’s a bit of an overload, IMO.
CBS has Change & Challenge: The Inauguration of Barack Obama at 9pm, wedged in between an NCIS repeat at 8pm & The Mentalist repeat at 10pm. Katie Couric gets her face on TV for this one. She does a portfolio of President Obama, with clips & a history of civil rights in America. There will also be recap highlights of the day. Then Katie does what she does best, ask stupid questions to normal people about how they feel.
NBC is sticking with The Biggest Loser at 8pm. A special Dateline NBC airs at 10pm. Presidential Inauguration Special with Brian Williams, will recap the days event & have reports from the 10 Inaugural Balls.
The cable channels start their evening coverage at different times.
CNN has Anderson Cooper, of course, at 9pm with correspondents at every single Inaugural Ball. I wonder if they got Kathy Griffin to help out again. Wouldn’t that be awesome!
FOX News has Inaugural Balls at 9pm with Bret Baier, Megyn Kelly, Bill Hemmer reporting on the things the republicans are doing tonight..
MSNBC starts at 10pm with Rachel Maddow, Keith Olberman & Chris Mathews all giving you opinions on what they think should happen, shouting over each other.
MTV has Be the Change: The Youth Inaugural Ball at 10pm. Correspondents include Sway Callaway, Usher & Rosario Dawson. Performances include Kanye West, Kid Rock & Fall Out Boy. At least someone’s including the kids in all this.
The BEST coverage of them all is QVC’s Presidential Inaugural Celebration at 9pm. Not only will they have coverage of all the things happening in DC, but you will be able to get some really cool keepsake Inaugural items. All this from your livingroom. That is truly the best inaugural experience of them all & you can buy an Obama plate too! Maybe even a bobblehead!
That pretty much covers all the Inaugural programming for the night. Now if none of these interest you then here are a few shows you can switch to instead & don’t feel un-American if you do. It’ll be all over the networks again tomorrow. ET, EXTRA & Access Hollywood will have all the REAL news we want to hear about by then. I can’t wait to see what Oprah did, can you?
FOX has the latest installment of American Idol at 8pm. The auditions continue in San Francisco. This is followed by a NEW episode of Fringe at 9pm.
The CW has NEW episodes of 90210 at 8pm, followed by Privileged at 9pm.
DSC has Dirty Jobs at 8pm which focuses on president’s who once held “dirty jobs”. Another NEW Dirty Jobs at 9pm is all about the disturbing business of rendering & recycling farm animals.
Wreckreation Nation at 10pm shows us a blindfolded demolition derby & a competition which mixes martial arts with the popular fantasy role-playing games that all the geeks are playing these days.
BRAVO has a NEW The Real Housewives of Orange County at 10pm. Tamra’s kid tries to get in Gretchen’s pants while she’s all drunked up & the girls all go shopping in Santa Monica! Yay!
OXYGEN gives us a NEW Bad Girl’s Club at 10pm. They bring that nasty bitch, Tanisha, fron season #2, back into the mansion & she immediately starts pushing her weight (& that’s alot) around. Dumb & Dumber (Amber 1 & 2) try to pull a prank on everyone else & it’s a dud. They’re both duds, so what do you expect. I hope my favorite girl, Kayla, has a major meltdown again this week. She’s such a sweety!
There’s a few good MOVIES, if you feel a need to escape from the real world.

Broken Trail at 8pm (2006-western) Robert Duvall
CINEMAX:
Death to Smoochy at 8pm. (2002) Robin Williams

So you say you read my recaps….LIAR PANTS! If you had read it you would know that Kayla’s grumpy ass LEFT the show last week! That’s it! I break with thee!
The recap, “Bare-Ass Naked Truth” does NOT say that Kayla left the show. Maybe there is a recap that I’m just not seeing. If so, I apologize. Geezz…. if you just comment to yell at me, maybe you shouldn’t read my TVP’s…….
I was only teasing you chooch. The site ate my last recap and I figured you hadn’t seen it. I always read your TvP and couldn’t live without it. Now come give me a hug before I smack ya!
