It’s BAAACK!!!
Finally, we have some great TV on Friday night! Lots to choose from. Check it out…..Before we get started, what did you guys think of Survivor: Samoa last night. That damn Russell is an ass, but he actually knows how to play the game!! (*spoiler*) Finding that hidden idol was the best move I’ve seen in a long time. Ya gotta give the dude cudos for that alone. Did any of you watch ABC’s Fast Forward? I started to, but switched to Survivor & never went back. What does that say? One more thing before we go to tonight’s fare. I just want to say how much I LOVE Tim Gunn this season on Project Runway. His snarky remarks are cracking me up. I can’t wait for him to come & check on the designers. It’s the best part of the whole show!
“Hmmmm… maybe a little more fabric will make it less of a muff?”
For awhile there, I thought this day would never come. It’s the return of Josh Whedon’s Dollhouse on FOX tonight, at 9pm. It was a huge debate last season, because of low ratings, if this show would be cancelled, but because of fan protests, here it is!!! It goes to show, that once in awhile, we do have a say in what we want to watch.
Echo gets married!
Okay, let’s not forget Brothers, a new comedy which airs at 8pm, also on FOX. It’s about two brothers (obviously) who both move back in with mom & dad. The unusual part of this concept is, one is a pro NFL football player & Michael Strahan really is a former player for the NY Giants & playing his brother is Daryl “Chill” Mitchell, a restaurant owner, confined to a wheelchair & Mitchell is handicapped in real life. The father is played by Carl Weathers of “Rocky” fame & mom is CCH Pounder. The boys act like little brats when they start living together again. I’m hoping this is better than other FOX sitcoms. (‘Til Death).
“Don’t think you’re getting the bottom bunk, bitch.”
CBS is continuing their premiere week with the return of Ghost Whisperer for it’s 5th season, at 8pm. Jennifer Love-Hewitt directs herself as Melinda having her baby. It’s a boy! Then time jumps ahead 5 years & he can see “dead people” too. But in a different, not good, way. Well, at least hubby Jim is Jim this season!
Medium begins it’s 6th season, but it’s 1st one on CBS. Remember NBC dumped it from it’s fall line-up to make room for Leno. Once again, fans were heard & CBS picked it up & paired it with Ghost Whisperer, following at 9pm. It starts right where it left off. Allison is waking from a coma after 4 months. The question is, how will that affect her “unique” abilities?
Season 6 of NUMB3RS rounds out the Friday night line-up at 10pm. Charlie wants an answer from Amita about getting married.
“Sclemeel, schlemazel, hasenfeffer incorporated. · We’re gonna do it!” ·
Season 20 of Law & Order begins tonight on NBC at 8pm. This show was also threatened with cancellation due to the Leno take-over. The gangs all back, doing what they’ve always done & I’m glad to see it still around. It’s still my favorite L&O. That L&O:SVU is all about sex!
Dateline NBC follows at 9pm with Michael Jackson’s rabbi squealling about all of the “King of Pops” confidential confessions. I’m sure we’ll hear nothing new though. Southland, NBC’s newest cop show, will start it’s 2nd season in this timeslot, in the coming weeks.
The Jay Leno Show at 10pm, has House star, Hugh Laurie as his guest tonight. Maybe he’ll tell us why Cameron (Jennifer Morrison) was fired let go. LeBron James plays “10 @10″.
20 years… and still here!
The CW has the premiere of the 9th season of Smallville at 8pm. Brian Ausin Green joins the cast as a new reporter. Clark begins his training with Jor-El & the first thing he wants is for Clark to dump Lois! And that’s just the start of things.
A repeat of this week’s America’s Next Top Model follows at 9pm.
Dad says to “dump Lois”!
ABC is giving those who didn’t get a chance, to see their new shows tonight. They are repeating Fast Forward at 8pm. Modern Family airs at 9pm & is followed by Cougar Town at 9:30pm. 20/20 airs at 10pm, focusing on the murder of 4 teens in 2003.
Runaway hit? Take a second look.
Okay, what else is on tonight? Well…..
HBO has a new Real Time with Bill Maher at 10pm. He has the first interview with former NY Governor Eliot Spitzer since he was ousted for sleeping with whores. Michael Moore will be on to plug his new documentary & crazy director John Waters joins the panel with economist Paul Krugman.
USA has new episodes of Monk at 9pm & Psych at 10pm.
NGC has a new Dog Whisperer at 9pm.
APL airs a new Jockeys at 9pm.
…. and don’t forget Joel McHale on The Soup at 10pm.
“Still got the ‘day job’.
There ya have it. Much different from weeks past. I finally got my wish for something to watch on Friday nights. My “Pick of the Night” is Dollhouse. No question about it. Hope I’ve helped you find something too.
