No more “time to kill”.

Yes, Showtime’s Dexter has returned for it’s 4th season. He was once again over-looked for an Emmy, but that hasn’t stopped him from what he does best. It’s a HUGE Sunday night, so let’s get busy………

“Eight countries in 21 days! I love my job!”

CBS has an “all-new” night again, starting with the 42nd season of 60 Minutes at 7pm. One story looks into the money made by celebrities after they die, such as Marilyn Monroe, James Dean & now Michael Jackson.
Emmy-winning The Amazing Race begins it’s trek at 8pm. Twelve teams meet Phil in Los Angeles, but one team never makes it past the starting line & is eliminated when they don’t properly read their clue. The rest are off to Japan on their first leg of the race. I’ve missed Phil!
Cold Case begins it’s 7th season at 10pm. The team investigates a 1966 death of a girl on an oceanliner which was originally considered a suicide. I love when they go back in time on this show. Ray Charles is the background music for this case.

The Whores are Back in Town!

ABC is “all-new” too! They start out the evening with the 7th season conclusion of Extreme Make-Over: Home Edition. It’s the final reveal of the decorated firefighter from Wisconsin’s home. On hand for the event is celebrity Patricia Heaton & music from “Five for Fighting”. When did they start having entertainment & celebrities? Well, just make sure you have your tissue box.
Season 6 of Desperate Housewives airs at 9pm. The cliffhanger ending of “Which whore is marrying Mike?” is finally answered. It’s either that slut Susan or Katherine. A new couple has, once again, moved into the neighborhood & we have a new whore-wife housewife to deal with. Her name is Angie & she’s played by Dreade Matteo from The Sopranos.
Brothers & Sisters follows with it’s 4th season premiere at 10pm. Nora & Holly plan an engagement party for Rebecca. zzzzzzzzzzz. Sorry, I love Sally Field, but I just can’t watch this soap-opera.

Which skank is behind that veil?

FOX has it’s “all-new” cartoon night! Oh…. Beg your pardon, they’re called ‘animated’ shows now, not cartoons.
The Simpsons start their 21st season at 8pm, with Homer becoming a Super Hero to beat all super heroes. He inherits the powers of every comic book he touches. Seth Rogan helped write & lends his voice to this episode.
The Cleveland Show premieres at 8:30pm. This Family Guy spin-off has Cleveland leaving Quahog for LA. He makes it as far as his hometown & hooks up with his high school sweetheart, who has 2 kids. They end up getting married & move in next door to a family of bears. Typical Seth McFarlane humor here. (which I find totally moronic).
The Family Guy premieres it’s 8th season at 9pm. Stewie & Brian use the remote control to explore parallel universes including a place where humans are pets & dogs rule.
American Dad starts it’s 5th season at 9:30pm. Steve is going to sing the National Anthem, but Stan doesn’t think he should because he’s never been in a war. As you can see, Seth McFarlane has almost total control of FOX on Sunday night now. God I miss Hank & Peggy & King of the Hill!

More childish McFarlane humor.

Of course NBC has it’s ratings high Sunday Night Football which has kick-off at 8:15pm tonight. It’s the Indianapolis Colts (2-0) at the Arizona Cardinals (1-1).

Colts @ Cardinals

Let’s move on to more important programming now, shall we. Of course, I think I mentioned earlier that tonight is the 4th season premiere of Dexter on Showtime at 9pm. If you will remember, our favorite serial killer married Rita at the end of last season & she’s going to have their baby. Now Dexter has to juggle a new wife, a new baby, his job, his stupid sister & a new serial killer has invaded his territory. John Lithgow joins the cast this season as the “Trinty Killer”a veteran killer who kills in threes & gives Dexter someone to admire. Keith Carridine returns as Special agent Lundy, there to screw Dex’s annoying sister (Hall’s wife in real life…ewwww!)
Californication begins it’s 3rd season at 10pm. Hank has his hands full with Becca increasingly being a bitch & his new teaching job at the college. Even though Charlie & marcy are getting a divorce, they move in together.

He can grill me anyday!

Over at HBO, we have new episodes of Curb Your Enthusiasm at 9pm & repeated at 10pm. They are continuing their “Seinfeld” reunion storyline. The new series Bored to Death has a new episode at 9:30pm. Has anyone watched this? Is it any good? A new Entourage follows at 10:30pm.

Last week on Mad Men…..

Of course, I can’t forget to remind you that AMC’s Mad Men is new at 9pm. Betty is trying to re-decorate the house & instead ends up getting involved in local politics. Does this mean she’s finally going to start speaking up? I don’t think so & I kinda hope she doesn’t get her “I am woman” attitude too soon. I like her all tight & ready to explode. It’s less predicable.

“Move the end table & the lamp to the other side of the couch.”

Just a few more notables:

Lifetime has new episodes of Drop Dead Diva at 9pm & Army Wives at 10pm.
FOOD NetworK has a new Challenge at 8pm. Four pastry chefs take a cruise to the Bahamas & at the end of it, they have to make a cake depicting their experience in 8 hours.
DISCOVERY continues it’s Raging Planet series with “Volcanoes” at 9pm & “Avalanches” at 10pm.

Well, what are you going to watch? My “Pick of the Night” is (of course) Dexter. I will be doing a lot of DVR’ing tonight too.

Was it just me or was the new Dexter a little lacking in something? It was actually predictable and boring.
    Eeeeek.
