We say goodbye to MONK at 8pm tonight, on USA. After 8 seasons, Tony Shalhoub is calling it quits. The show has been at the top of the cable ratings list all season. He has won 3 Emmys as the germicidal detective with a unique talent for solving crimes by studying human behavior. This final episode promises to unwrap the secrets of his wife Trudy’s death 12 years ago.
FOX is airing back to back episodes of Dollhouse at 8 & 9pm. They are burning up what they have left to air of this wonderfully awesome show. (bastards!) Summer Glau, from the FOX cancelled Sarah Conner Chronicles, will guest star in the 8pm episode. At least they’re keeping these actors on the payroll, if only part-time.
ABC is busy promoting Disney’s new movie, The Princess & the Frog, by airing the special,Dreams Come True: A Celebration of Disney Animation at 8pm. A healthy clip of the movie will be showcased at the end. No sign of Adam Lambert at all!
Sharkira will guest star on Ugly Betty tonight at 10pm, also on ABC. It’s good to see entertainers who are pure as the driven snow, being showcased, & not those pesky, gross gay guys. Remember, Ugly Betty will move to Wednesday nights at 10pm, replacing the cancelled Eastwick, after it’s 13-week run is up.
CBS has new episodes of Ghost Whisperer at 8pm, Medium at 9pm & NUMB3RS at 10pm.
NBc has the repeat special of Muppet Christmas: Letters to Santa at 8pm. Surprise special guests help Kermit & the crew deliver 3 misplaced letters to Santa at the North Pole.
The CW has the movie, Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer, based on the classic song of the same name, at 8pm. A repeat of Smallville follows at 9pm.
What’s Christmas without the Griswalds.
Don’t forget that AMC is continuing it’s marathon of National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. Nothing smells more like Christmas than a burning cat under the couch!
For those of you looking for something new & a little off-base, DSC is having a Monsters Inside Me marathon starting at 8pm. This is just too much for me to take. Let me know if any of you really watch this.
Last but not least is the 6th Annual Woodie Awards at 10pm on MTV. This awards show celebrates the favorite music of college students. Okay(?)
That’s it for now. My “Pick of the Night” is Dollhouse. Gotta get into it while I still can.
