I didn’t know there was a book!

The Good Wife, on CBS, is one of three new shows premiering tonight. Two are up against The Jay Leno Show at 10pm. What choice will you make?I just need to take a moment to talk about last night’s shows. How many of you liked the season premiere of House? I thought it was great. Especially the first hour. The second hour kinda dragged while he “found” himself & then the writers didn’t give us any confessionals. (boo-hiss!) The talent show & the affair with the married lady got a little boring & dragged on a bit too. What made this episode was House’s roommate Juan Alvarez, or Alvie, as he was called on the ward. Lin-Manuel Miranda was awesome, feeding off of each scheme cooked up by House to get out of there. I can only hope that he gets ‘well’ & we see him again.

Roommate Alvie was the best part of the show!

As for Dancing With the Stars, they showcased the guys last night & they all sucked ass! They seriously need to weed out some of this dead weight & quickly too. I can only hope that tonight’s 2-hour broadcast, (8pm on ABC) which will show us what the women have to offer, has a little more talent involved or we’re in for a disappointing season. I will say this, the Olympic snowboarder dude, Louie Vito, has potential & Donnie Osmond is a crowd-pleaser with those famous family teeth.

Definite Potential

I’m, once again, in love with Heroes & I’m actually excited to see what develops this season. The first episode, coming from someone who didn’t even watch the last half of last season, was great. I get it! I’m not confused! That alone makes it worth watching again. Please, just keep it up.

Ok, tonight’s not as filled with premieres as last night, but the biggie is the return of NCIS, the #1 show in America & it’s new spin-off series, NCIS: Los Angeles, both on CBS tonight at 8 & 9pm, respectively. The new LA version stars LL Cool J & Chris O’Donnell out in the field & Linda Hunt handling things from the control room. I can only hope that there are plenty of opportunities for LLCJ to take off his shirt, cuz that’s what I want to see! The new series, The Good Wife, with Julianna Margulies, follows at 10pm. This is kinda iffy with me. A politicion’s wife suffers public humiliation because her whoredog husband does something scandalous & goes to jail. Now she has to get a job. Thank god she was a lawyer once! Now she can “bring home the bacon…fry it up in a pan”, so to speak. Well, it’s up against Leno & it’s on CBS, so it could make it.

See what I mean.

The other new series is on ABC, after Dancing With the Stars & it’s up against Leno too, at 10pm. The Forgotten stars Christen Slater, who’s giving episodic TV another chance. (remember My Own Worst Enemy) He heads a team of detectives who try to solve what happened to unidentified bodies. These are closed cases the cops were no longer investigating. (kinda like Cold Case, don’t ya think?). Well, it’s a Jerry Bruckheimer production, so it’s got a chance.

Who’s the mystery dead?

NBC has a new episode of The Biggest Loser at 8pm. It’s another 2 hours of blood, sweat & tears for the ‘losers” who learn how to make healthy meals tonight. Al tells them if there is a big loss during weigh-in, no one will go home this week. Why are all these reality shows going two-hours? Isn’t an hour enough time to watch people make fools of themselves for entertainment.
The Jay Leno Show follows at 10pm. His guests tonight are PeeWee Herman (not Paul Reubens) & Amy Poehler. Hey, are you guys watching Jay Leno? Are you DVR’ing his show? From what I can tell, his ratings are going down fast. My ratings guide will give us some insight tomorrow.

Why can’t they put a shirt on?

The CW has new episodes of 90210 at 8pm & everyone’s going on a cruise on Teddy’s yacht. Melrose Place airs at 9pm.

How can we forget Teddy?

There’s a 2-hour Hell’s Kitchen on FOX at 8pm. (see, another 2hr show). Olympic skater Sasha Cohen is a guest at the restaurant tonight. What that has to do with cooking, I don’t know. I guess she’s suppose to judge dishes prepared with items from Whistler, BC (where the winner’s restaurant is). The two teams will finally get their black chef coats, ending the team competitions. The previews hint that my favorite, one-handed Dave the Wonderchef may get hurt again & be out, but I’m praying this is just a tease by FOX. It better be!

“I’m Okay!”

Here are some 10pm alternatives to The Jay Leno Show:

Food Network has a new episode of Chopped at 10pm. It’s pt#3 of the “Chopped Championships” & the featured ingredients are squab & grapefruit.

FX is airing a new Sons of Anarchy at 10pm. Jax gets involved in Luanne’s porno business.

OXYGEN has the new series Naughty Kitchen with Blythe Beck at 10pm. This is suppose to be a reality show with sass. Blythe is the owner of a restaurant in Dallas & she’s got quite the mouth on her. Things get “cooking” when a critic arrives to taste the cuisine.

Blythe & her cast of clowns.

BRAVO has Flipping Out at 10pm. Tonight is the big breakup between Jeff & Ryan. This is really upsetting to Jeff & he goes to see his dad for advise on just what to do next. I knew that Ryan wasn’t going to be around much this season. He’s obviously moved on. Well, at least they made a show out of it. I’m not going to miss Ryan though.

NGC has a new Explorer at 10pm. It’s titled “Chimps on the Edge” & they investigate that chimp attack that happened in Conn. this past February, where the pet chimp went berzerk & ate that woman’s face off.

G4 has the new episode of Heroes at 10pm for those of you who didn’t or couldn’t get to see it last night. They always broadcast it here on the next night, so remember that in case you missed it. (or I can remind you).
The also have a great show Web Soup at 8pm, which is exactly like The Soup on E! , except that it’s all about the crazy shit you see on the internet. This is worth a “look-see” cuz they showcase alot of stuff that ends up in your e-mails or Facebook.

Chris Hardwick is endorsed by Joel McHale.

I think I’ve covered everything for you. If you can’t find anything to watch after reading this list, then maybe you should just go to bed early. My “Pick of the Night” is Hell’s Kitchen. I just have to see if Dave is okay!
