TV Patrol: Tuesday Night. “Do ya feel lucky?”

It’s Tuesday night! Is there anything worth watching tonight? I’ve been looking over the evening line-up and I’m really liking “Dirty Harry” on AMC at 8pm. “Do you feel lucky? Well do ya punk?” Find out after the jump.

Christian Slater’s new show “My Own Worst Enemy” really got me all excited last night. He’s this really great dad (Henry) in middle America, then he’s an assassin (Edward) in Russia & turns into this really great dad again when he’s supposed to be the assassin and almost gets killed and doesn’t know wtf is going on. This geek, at this huge computer station with all kinds of hi-tech visuals, knows there’s been a boner of a mistake. He calls the mom from “Crooklyn”, who is in charge. She sends in bald, fat Jimmy from “Yes Dear” (they call him Tom/Randall) to rescue Henry/Edward from the bad men. It seems there’s a glitch in his ‘chip’. This is an action-packed twist on secret agents. I highly recommend it. “Check it Out!”

I’m really having some highs & lows this week. Tonight is a ‘low’ for me as far as TV goes. Let’s get on with it, okay?

CBS:

“NCIS” at 8pm. (new episode)

“The Mentalist” at 9pm. (new episode) This is a pretty good show. The guy is cute. He needs to find the psycho who killed his family & he makes the cops look like idiots. What more could you ask for.

“Without a Trace” at 10pm. (new episode)

NBC:

“The Biggest Loser: Families” at 8pm. It’s two hours of “sweet temptations” as the info guide says. I don’t think I can look at people droiling over Krispy Kremes & Little Debbie’s for that long. I’ve heard of people getting divorced over their right to eat cheesecake!

“Law & Order: SVU” at 10pm. (new episode)

ABC:

“Opportunity Knocks” at 8pm. (new episode) Ok, I admit it. I watch this totally materialistic, product endorsment give-away. Now that these upper, middle class families are losing their homes, they really need Ashton Kutcher to save the day.

“Dancing With the Stars: Results” at 9pm. The judges kissed Erica’s ass just like I said they would. I’m really starting to love Cloris & now I don’t want her to go. I’m predicting Rocco to be the one to tango his hips back to the kitchen to freeze more soggy pasta.

“Eli Stone” at 10pm. (Season Premiere) I wish I could tell you something about this show, but I don’t have a clue. He’s a ‘quirky’ lawyer, I think.

FOX:

“House” at 8pm. (new episode) I hope he hangs out with his New BFF. I just don’t understand why they keep the old crew on the show. They only get a couple of lines per episode. I’d walk! (maybe they pay them good… nah!)

“Fringe” at 9pm. (new episode) Is anyone still watching this? I’m not hearing much about it anymore. In fact, I’m not hearing ANYTHING about it anymore.

CW:

“90210″ at 8pm.

“Privileged” at 9pm.

BRAVO has “Real Housewives of Atlanta” at 8 & 9pm.

That’s it my friends. I’m sorry I couldn’t find more interesting things for you to watch. You could spend the evening switching from FOX News to CNN to MSNBC and be well informed for the Presidential debates tomorrow night, but I’m sure you will be more confused after watching all the bullshit they’re spreading & calling it news! I watch the BBC. They think it’s a new comedy.

    Chooch,
For shame! How could you not mention “The Shield” on F/X??? Best show on TV. For anyone who hasn’t seen it (probably most everyone out there), I urge you to go rent season 1 on DVD. You’ll be hooked instantly.

Chooch!! I highly recommend you watch Eli Stone. It’s a GREAT show.
Although it may be one of those shows that you need to watch from the very beginning, since there’s loads of backstory that you’ll miss and may be confused.
But essentially, Eli is a lawyer who has “visions” of things that are going to happen (and some are just quirky things, but they all translate into something with meaning). People don’t believe him and think he’s crazy. He has an aneurysm or something somewhere in his brain that’s supposed to be inoperable (but they try it anyway, I think that’s how last season ended?). We don’t know if the visions are a result of the aneurysm, or if he’s getting signs from God (as his acupuncturist insists) or if he really is just crazy.
His dad had the same thing, and he drank to get rid of it, so Eli is coping with the way he treated his dad growing up, knowing that he’s going through the same thing now.
AAAAAAAAND I know realize why my family gets annoyed when I tell them about a TV show/movie/book. But there’s your backstory, so if you watch, you won’t be confused. :D

    Chooch,

Thanks for giving The Unit a chance. It probably is confusing for someone who is just coming in…but it doesn’t take too long to get caught up.

Sunday was not the show’s best work. David Mamet is the writer, so the story and dialogue tend to be sharper than a lot of shows. Sunday didn’t demonstrate that.

Yeah…Dennis Haysbert is the Alstate guy. He was also the president on 24.

Season 3, Five Brothers is one of the best episodes. Try to find it if you have time.

All the best…and thanks for the TV line-ups.

    We watched Dirty Harry.

    Again.

    For the umpteenth time.

Sheer brilliance – that movie never gets old.

Callahan’s [one of] the original maverick[s]!!!!!
