We’re back!! Our amazing tech guys have restored us to our former look and basically changed/tweaked/improved everything under the hood. We can now hold the extra traffic without crashing five times a day or getting hacked! HOLLER! Thanks for all your dedication, hard work, and handsomeness, nerd monkeys!

Good. Now the font is easy to read on my Windows machine again. Funny thing is that on my iPad, with a much smaller screen and lower resolution, I had no trouble reading the font.
I have one request
I liked how recently, you could see the comment count without actually clicking into the post. That way, if you are frequent drive-by customer, you can see if anybody else has added additional comments, without clicking and waiting for the page to load.

Confusion is my middle name. Yesterday I could scroll down the ten comments and then at the bottom hit a space marked (something like.. oh dear, can’t remember the exact wording. I just did it) see more… and when I pressed the words the next ten comments would appear and so on.

It is a very handsome site, if I must say. And I love the font here. Slick. The thing that I enjoyed most about the “interim” site was that you could click on a new recap or go to the whole series of recaps without having to go to the Show Column to find oldies. Flip, I may be in the minority, but is there any way you could get rid of the “reply” option in the comments section? I love to read the comments as much as I like to read the recaps and when I discover there are more comments than the last time I was here, I find I have a really hard time finding them because most of them are replies.
I begged for the same thing, Clair. Even though the temporary format had it, too, at least the time stamp was larger so when a reply said “2 Hours Ago” , I could decipher that as a possible recent comment if the one before it was hours before that. But with this new format, we have to read everything before realizing we’d read it already.
And when the juicy comment wars happen, that’ll get just plain frustrating.
Sarcassy, I always seem to have a problem with reading through everything only to find I’ve read it. It’s called short term memory loss.
I liked the old way when new comments get tacked on at the end, no matter what. I also really liked the old edit comment function, which allowed me to correct all of the typos in my comments before anyone had a chance to read them. Ha ha.
It appears, however, that we can finally personalize our avatars. I’ll spare you people the eye-in-mouth avatar though. Let’s see if I can whip something new up, now that I’m back from vacation. Something sweet and fluffy, like me.
Just checking in – and whooping with everyone else about the return to the old format.
Also – I’m with Clair on not liking the ‘reply to’ format in comments. I would rather they go to the bottom of the string so you know where to start with new ones.

Also, all the previous replies utilizing @soandso’s aren’t good for soandso either. Without a reply button, folks do the @ in an effort to direct the post to a particular person. This practice, now that twitter is aflutter, sometimes sends the reader to a twitterpage that has nothing to do with the person that you @soandso.
It happened to me here, @myname sent folks to a twitter account that wasnt mine. I don’t even have a twitter acct. It wasn’t me. A reply button is needed.
I do miss the back to the top feature and the sidebar “see more comments”. I guess those are small concerns and are essentially cosmetic compared to what was gained from the real facelift…
Can’t wait for the powers that be to suprise us with a brand new forum. It is going to be so much fun!!

If there is no reply button, I really hope folks will discontinue using an atmark when replying/trying to get another posters attention. It causes problems when the post goes off into cyberspace to a site that has nothing to do with the intended @ and could be unnessesarily embarrassing. . You may think your username is unique, heh. Not only is your username probably riddled with ambiguities, the Octothorpe ( # ) works the same way as the Atmark ( @ ) ! All these years of computer science and Twitter figured out that # and @ were the same so if someone wrote @ it took them to Twitter . Brilliant.
This is the reason that many sites have decided to go with a reply button.

If several conversations are going on on one recap, that’s a lot of clicking to see the replies.. And what if, in your reply, you want you want to address several people/topics? Must you go to every separate thread and reply there? Or, isn’t it better to just make one post addressing all the topics buzzing around the board that’s visible to everyone and easy to find in sequential order?
Furthermore, it doesn’t make the comment section as inclusive if we have to seek out each convo, well, in sections. People may feel like they’re intruding on a private clubhouse thread. Especially the newbies.
I like a comment thread that says, “Come one, come all!”
When I address someone, I just use their name on a single line, so it’s easier to spot. Example:

TVG newbies aren’t afraid of anything and I am sure that even after your stern disertation concerning posting rules and etiquitte, they won’t have any qualms posting.
I like it without the reply button because the comments threads inevitably turn to you gals talking about your boobs and your uteri, and the reply cascades hide all that.

Honestly though, do not give folks a hashmark or an @ in front of their name unless you know that this hotlink will go to it’s rightful owner. I cannot tell you how hard it was for me to get rid of People / Twitter spam / emails, after my “Twitter account” (that I never had) was posted.

I never use the @ because I never know where it will take me, and I don’t talk to strangers.
How about going back to the interim numbering system? That way we could “point” to a particular person’s comment. My tiny brain just had too much trouble finding replies to threads that interested me and I’d miss comments, so losing the reply feature helps.
And to think, SSC, all I had planned was reading book four of Game of Thrones! Which is good, btw, but it’s no book three.
Ironically, if we had a numbering system I count use it to “point” to my comment asking for the numbering system. lol Flipit’s replied and said they are working on it. Yay!

Claire: The ‘@’ symbol in front of a person’s name, like @nooneinparticular, creates a live link to a twitter page of the same name, if such exists. Someone suggested we keep the reply button because without it, people use the ‘@’ symbol.(?) I find the two to be mutually exclusive. We can reply to each other without a reply button just as easily as we can without the ‘@’ symbol. (see what I just did there? lol)

For god’s sake. Since the reply feature is no longer available I think people use teh @ to indicate who their replying to. Lots of comments can pop up regardless of how fast you type and you may end up being 4 or 5 posts away from the one you want to comment on. Using the @ whoever helps indentify the post. It’s got nothing to do with Twitter in my mind. I don’t even fucking use Twitter.

@kthxbai I caught a couple of seconds of the show last night. This girl was looking at a wedding dress? that was like a T&T dress on steroids. Sad thing is like the T&T dresses I loved how bright and sparkly it was and secretly kind of wanted it.
Sagitty, no that wasn’t a wedding dress- well she and her BFF did go into a shop and she tried on a veil. The HUGE pink dress that her dad flew her to Boston to pick up was for the party her parents threw her on Halloween so that she could meet a boy to marry. She is 14, and I’m guessing 16 for him.
If all goes according to plan they will be back in Boston visiting the Gypsy dressmaker to buy an even bigger, blingier wedding dress within a month or so. They marry young and aren’t much for long courtships. Education isn’t a big priority for traditional gypsies, although girls are beginning to defy tradition and stay in school so that they can have jobs and a certain amount of independence. She isn’t one of them.

It seems to me that you have no qualms either about flinging unfounded accusations and questionable ideas regarding who is posting with what username while admitting that you really don’t know who it is.
Ha ha, you gals are still going at it? Yes, by all means, please, I’d love to have a separate ongoing thread just for Robinez and Sarcasatire! It’d be like Forever Eden (still the best reality television show of all time) only weirder because there’s no money (or sex or booze) involved.
I’ve defended Sarcasatire in the past, I’ll happily do it again. Although I don’t follow everyone of your cat fights. But it always seems to me that it goes like this:
1. Sarcasatire posts a comment in a thread.
2. Robinez pops ups and starts ragging on Sarcasatire’s comment.
3. The back-and-forth begins, while the rest of eat breakfast and/or drink beer.
4. A brand-new commenter suddenly appears who no one else recognizes and who always, somehow, takes Robinez’s side of things while spouting a bunch of non-truths.
5. The rest of us, by now quite drunk, write things like “COCK!” and “LABIA!”.
6. The comment thread gets locked and my typos are frozen in time for the rest of eternity.
Now, I have nothing against Robinez either, I always enjoy her other comments, when she’s not obsessively pounding on Sarcasatire. Just makes me wonder, that’s all.

If you think that my comments rag on people, you are wrong. I rekon you don’t follow my comments as closely as you do others because if you did, you would know that I do not make a point to hurt anyone and have been known to come to the aid of folks that have been troll attacked for no reason.

I have no problems posting on the same threads as Robinez. I don’t feel the need to attack her. However, she seems offended that I post on the same shows as she. It’s no coincidence we like the same ones…they’re all hilarious!
I defended Robinez on a recent Toddlers and Tiaras recap when plenty of Gasmii were upset with her for picking yet another a fight with me. I could see their frustration but I didn’t want her to feel ganged up on.
So you know I am as surprised as anyone that she still seeks me out for a comment war.
We’re here to snark on reality famewhores, not each other. Now let’s get back to the task at hand…laughing at crazy pageant moms!

How are you guys even able to watch the shows when you have these back and forths? They go on for days and have to be exasperating.
Because both of you have this “feud” and it’s been going on and on and on and on and on for years and years now you probably look into each other’s post more than you should.
With that being said, please don’t end the feud because it gives me something to read while on my conference calls. I am certainly fascinated that one could dislike another so much over the internet. I wonder if Dr. Phil has covered this topic before?

@maryedith I totally agree with you. I have been reading since The Hills in 2006 and have not always been a commentor. But I have to admit I do get a kick out of the self-appointed TVgasm ambassadors dictating who is a “new” or “real” one. Especially since they’re the ones who comment EVERYWHERE and seem to have a real struggle with unplugging.

I always picture Robinez and sarcasatire giggling maniacally(if you were men you would have glasses, scruffy beards and huge eyebrows) as they type their replies to each other. More often than not you two are also in dimly lit rooms, in baggy T-shirts and pajama bottoms(weird…right). I know I have no grounds to address either of you(but you know I will), but stop baiting each other…stop bringing up past fights and comments. I understand its hard to look at a ‘bait’ comment and ignore it but it usually makes the baitor look silly when you ignore them.

It’s one thing to read and respond in an appropriate, funny manner which sometimes invokes discussion, but to fight for days and/or call commentors a “close-knit” group is getting far too emotionally involved. People, at the end of the day (Jersey Shore represent) you are all just strangers behind computer screens.

I’m just someone who has read this site for years, rarely comments, and hates what has happened to it in the past few years since Sarcasatire has pulled the wool over so many eyes. I challenge any of you who think she is so wonderful to go against what she believes in JUST ONCE, and then see what you think. 1 thing I noticed right off in MBFGW US is how with the Rom you can still see just a little bit of S. Asia on their face. But it looks almost gone from them in the UK version. It might be just those families. I guess we’ll see. But right off it got me fascinated! I can’t wait for episode 2 to show up!
Kthy, could it be that the Rom were in Britain longer and had more chances to assimilate? Someone said that they came to the US as slaves, so they might have had more reason to retain their racial identity. BTW, I call BS on their being slaves. Waaaaaaay too independent.
