B-Side, Kat, and J-Unit

I have been really lazy about this, but I wanted to take a little time to recognize two of TVgasm’s latest heavy hitters, sg-dub and Kat. Sg-dub has been doing a great job covering Project Greenlight as well as The Cut and I Want to Be a Hilton. Kat has begun to take on the large and unenviable task of cleaning up the grammar in our posts. We appreciate the work that they have been doing in the last few months and you should remember them when you are heaping all of your praise onto TVgasm.

A little more info on our new additions after the jump. And for the first time ever, an unaltered picture of J-unit and B-side!

 sg-dub comes to us via the TVgasm New York office. His recaps have a slightly more scathing style, but that comes from growing up in the Philadelphia area and being a life-long fan of the city’s eternally miserable sports franchises. Sg-dub finds the state of the network sitcoms hopeless, so he turns to reality TV to find a new form of (often) unintentional comedy. “The recaps write themselves,” he says, “reality whoring has become so pervasive, the clowns on these shows are becoming more and more absurd, and all I have to do is observe and report.”

As for sg-dub’s more personal info, he would only divulge that he’s a Scorpio but went on to say that anyone who gives a shit about astrology is a retard.
Kat used to try to better her mind with literature and art, but realized TV was easier to understand and way more fun to talk about. She likes working for TVgasm because the people involved are way sexier than in her day job (where she takes an active hand in corrupting America’s youth). On the rare occasion that Kat’s not analyzing pop culture, she likes assassinating puppies and laughing about Knob Noster, MO. And making people cry when they don’t use proper grammar. Huh. Kat’s kind of mean. Anyway! Any requests for scripted shows you might want to see recapped on TVgasm? She’s open to suggestions (especially if your suggestion is Deadwood).

And while we’re thanking contributors, let’s not forget m_ruv and youcantmakeitup, also out of our New York offices. We look forward to their great writing in the future. I should also add jadedbitch, who did a wonderful job on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette this spring.

Since I am mentioning new additions to the family, I’ll also say that TVgasm has moved to our own, brand-spanking new dedicated server at our wonderful hosting provider, Dreamhost. This should make the site a lot faster to load, and will cost us less to buy all of the extra bandwidth it takes to bring you all the video, audio, and pictures each month.

Along with our new server, we are still looking to add new features (death pool anyone? podcasts?) and more authors for TVgasm. If you are looking to contribute, send us an e-mail. We’re hoping to cover a lot more shows in the fall, and our TiVo can only keep up with so much.

Now, as promised, here is an unaltered picture of me and B-side in Las Vegas. I hope it was worth the wait.

    Why all the blurred faces? In order to stay secret when it comes to investigative reporting?

    Then again on The PRinces of Malibu last night, someone’s face was blurred out while they were on the podium of some awards show.

    Speaking of Princes of Mailbu… I would love that to be covered on TVgasm! You guys would do such a good job of recapping the shows.

    Props to you, Kat, on keeping this site grammatically correct! I’m sure it’s not easy!

    British – as fun as it is to blur out our faces on Photoshop, it’s not just for comic effect. All of us work in the entertainment industry in some sort of form or another. Conflict of interest, if you will.

    B-Side- Interesting that J-Unit’s and Kat’s faces aren’t nearly as blurred out as yours….you must be extremly more important…. :o )

    i found this old post when i was searching for something i stumbled on a few months ago in the archives (b-side and j-unit’s real identities! did you guys delete the link?) but i thought some of the comments from just a year ago (lose the fat and get the freckles removed, all she needs is an eating disorder and a drug habit..) entertaining. my how things change in a year.
