Greetings Gasmii! I'm excited to share this with you! It's my first attempt at a video recap for '24'. For those of you that aren't super-fans of the show, it's formatted to catch you up to speed on the season Thus far, and features an interview with 'Kim Bauer'!
Don't fret, my written recap of hour nine is forthcoming! Commander Flipit was kind enough to let me take on this little eye-deer of mine first, but I will be back in a few short days with my traditional recap.
Please watch the video and tell me what you think...After the JUMP!

Oh wow, that's ten minutes of my life that I will never get back. PAINFUL to watch, and I was embarassed for you.
LOVE your written recaps, but whatever you were aiming to do here, you missed the mark.
And I'm no fan of Kim Bauer, but if you couldn't find someone to portray her who could actually act, couldn't you at least find someone attractive?

@jjnoza
I appreciate the honesty and feedback. Believe me, I'm my own worst critic. It was mostly an experiment in playing with the creation of digital content.
One note on "Kim Bauer"...that happens to be one of my best friends who volunteered to help me out on a little project with a two day turn around on very short notice. And I happen to think she's beautiful...inside and out.

Wow jjnoza! Critical much?? Commenting on someone's personal appearance is just plain tacky. How nice for you that you are obviously so incredibly beautiful that you feel you can make rude remarks about other people. lol
Dogsnaxx, I haven't watched the video yet (the no fun police here don't allow YouTube), but what a great friend she is for helping you out on short notice and I bet you guys had a lot of fun making the video. :)
Love your recaps btw...

@Wildheart
Thanks! We were laughing our @sses off while filming. When it came to the editing and tech drama...not so much. Thankfully, the Cracker Jack team @ Media At Large helped me pull everything together.
Thanks to both you and jjnoza for the written recap love. You will both be happy to know I'm working on hour nine now...
Stay tuned!

Hey dogsnaxx -- I like it! A good way to get my 24 fixes. I'd have a few complaints about production values, but no one said TV is easy. 24 seems effortless to make, but what do they have, like a crew of 100 and a budget of $150 million? Maybe you could add some torture scenes or something to spice it up. Looking forward to even better future versions.

@ schnro & muso
Thanks for the support

Don't be sorry! I put this up for the feedback. I still think it's a good idea in theory, but we probably failed in execution. I take full responsibility for that. I committed to a deadline before I had a realistic idea of the time involved.

Yeah, you guys are right. That Kim comment was rude and uncalled for. I'm sorry for that. At the risk of sounding like a complete arse, maybe next time try a little more cheek/lip color - she looked really washed out - that's hard to avoid on a video without caking on the make-up. And in retrospect, you guys are right - your friend is a pretty girl. Some of her mannerisms were a little stilted on the clip (I know it was put together quickly, just my .02), which was offputting, and I think that's what I reacted to.
I think if you had just read aloud a typical written recap, the video would have been a lot funnier! I always read parts of your recaps aloud to my husband, and they never fail to elict laughter - so it's not as if your written comments lose something in the verbal translation on a normal week. I imagine it's hard to sum up multiple episodes and still be snarktastically funny in one quick session as well.
Anyway, again, please accept my apology. I look forward to your recaps every week - I watch the show religiously, but still enjoy reading what you have to say! The title "Finger Lickin' Good" and the "Nothing beats a great pair of legs" lines almost made me wet myself. Along with Agent DeadSlut. I can never remember the character's real name during the show, thanks to that.

@ JJ
You don't owe me an apology. I've done my best to ensure my friend didn't see the comment, but if she did...she's got a thick skin and I'm sure she'll be alright.
Trust me: I don't think the execution of this clip was all it could be. And, furthermore, it was kinda long. Believe it or not, the original clip was a little over 12 minutes (which is crazy!), and on the night of upload, I discovered YouTube has a 10 minute and 59 second length limit. That's downright smart, if you ask me...as the ideal clip is probably 2 or 3 minutes in length. Anyhow, that resulted in a last-minute edit on the part of myself and Super Intern Patty. A lot of the rough cuts were a direct result of trying to trim seconds wherever we could.
I'm just mad y'all didn't tell me how pretty I was. haha. Maybe you'll see me in another clip soon, maybe you won't. It was a first attempt. I'm still perfecting the recipe, and I'm not mad at myself.
In the meantime, I hope you continue to enjoy the written recaps. Hour 9 is in the can and should be up online sometime soon.
Sincerely,
DS
