In the last scene of the night we see a cracked out Adriana get into a car and buy a bag of something that my master deduction skills tell me is not Confectioner's Sugar. Boom! Drug addiction NOT kicked, sucka! Scene's for next week look promising, complete with drug sniffing dogs and everything!
So what did you all think? I'm glad that the Kelly/Brenda thing has come to an end. I liked the idea of the old cast being incorporated but all of their scenes felt completely unrelated to everything else and just forces stories for the sake of the original fans. That said, I do love me some Kelly Taylor and hope she stays on and pursues things with Ryan! In other news; if Annie and Ethan don't get together in the near future I am going to scream.

I guess we won't be seeing Kelly or McKid for a few weeks.
And I am so dumb!! Someone had to point out to me that Ryan is the son Tracy gave birth to in high school. Kelly even made a point of mentioning that he's ten years younger than her and Brenda, and it went right over my head.
They're definitely heading toward EthAnnie, or whatever their couple-name is going to be.
Mmm, ice-cream sandwiches...

Awesome recap and I'm totally with you on all your observations! NO ONE in my high school would have congratulated the leads of a lameass school production and rally around them cheering, and my school was, I'm sure, nowhere near Beverly Hills-level coolness/snob factor proportions. And I too wondered what the text Adriana sent must have said.
LMAO at Ryan's essay assignment. FIVE PAGES on something you might like to be when you grow up?! Knock off a few page requirements and you have a grade 4 level assignment at best.
As a big fan of the original (and far superior, though that goes without saying) series, I've always belived Brenda belonged with Dylan and Kelly with Brandon. Brenda and her antics MADE that whole show. Why isn't she causing any drama anymore!? It's like the writers are afraid to stir the pot. I'm not sure if her deleting his number was supposed to mean something, but I don't think Shannen Doherty's scheduled to appear on anymore episodes. So since she caused no drama and was no fun, her entire presence in this series seems like such a waste of so many awesome storylines.
Re: The musical episode where Annie was to lose her virginity. All I could think was if she EVEN loses her virginity to this dude in a hotel after the play, has a pregnancy scare, and takes a test which her parents later find in the trash I. WILL. LOSE. IT. So I was pleasantly surprised by the Adriana interference.
Agree with you on the Naomi plotline...completely idiotic. That chick is the worst actor of the bunch and that's saying something. I read that the kid who plays Dixon was great on The Wire. Does anyone know what kind of character he played? Because frankly in this show, he kind of sucks. Too bad if the kid is really capable of much better.
Sorry for the lengthy post!

I thought Tracy was Naomi's mother's name... I could be wrong... anyway, Naomi's mother and Annie's dad conceived a child whom she gave for adoption, and Ryan's the right age.

Great recap as always!!
I feel like there is one huge part missing though - where Ryan and Brenda "leave" together? I thought that was kind of significant (read: shady) of Brenda. I hope there's more to this storyline.
Also, I have to point out, in the scene where Ethan and Naomi are making out in her bedroom - she has her arms behind her head and it is so obvious she did not shave her underarms! I thought for sure there would be a screencap of that!
