Jem and Rio take second place and The Babies are hitting some counting problems. The Siblings take a cue from Jem and Rio and switch from stilts to counting. Jen and Nate have begun yelling at their local hosts to shut up and let them count. Lelcome to Lithulania! Just as Moronald nears the stilt walk finish line he face-plants into the road. The producers pat themselves on the back again for their extensive waivers. It would be sad if he weren't such a creep. Karma. Miraculously he goes one more round and makes it across the finish line and it's off to the Pit Stop.
The Blondes have stopped again to ask for directions from a gorgeous blonde Lithuanian girl. The sad thing is, they probably think they're better looking than she is.
Dream on, big blonde.
Nick and Grandpa Donald find their gnome and The Blondes are right on their heels. Over at the fence, Nate is counting and Jen is right in his face going, "Do not let anyone distract you!" Thanks Jen, that helps. Apparently Nate's out-loud counting is confusing Jen and she keeps begging him to count quietly, but he insists that he is physically and mentally unable to count in his head. I believe it. The Siblings finish counting and take off. Moronald and Christina are team three and The Siblings are team four. The Babies keep doing separate counts and coming up with different totals. Too bad, cranky pants. On their next attempt Jen asks Nate mid-count if she can go around him and now he's really had it and yells out, "Bitch!" Wow, he cheats on her and calls her names. Not that I totally blame him... These two are so retarded that they have to give up counting to do the stilts. What was that about being such a great counter, Jen?
The Blondes are also self-proclaimed great counters and start in on the pickets as Nick and Grandpa are doing a count of their own. Somehow The Babies manage to walk on stilts without killing each other and head for the Pit Stop. As The Blondes spin themselves into a web of counting confusion, the little one says that they should have each counted half of the pickets and then added their totals together. Yes, but you see, you both would have been wrong, so that wouldn't have worked either. Nick accidentally counted all of the posts and gates, which he wasn't supposed to, but he has enough of a brain to go back and subtract the extras and get the total right. We could be here all night waiting for The Blondes. They get it wrong. Nick and Grandpa Donald are team six. When The Blondes finally pull it together and make it to the Pit Stop they realize they are in last place and their only hope is that this is a non-elimination leg. Well, we haven't had one yet, it's possible. But apparently Phil has had enough of The Blondes as well because he tells them to get their crap and get out of Lithuania. They start to cry and whimper about their mani-pedi facials that they've been missing. As they walk off holding hands into the sunset, they reassure us that they are still Best Friends Forever and this experience will never leave them. Well that's a relief. At least they're leaving us.
Head west for a sea salt scrub.
Next week The Siblings and The Babies fight, fight, fight! We're definitely past the honeymoon phase of this race.
So how did you like tonight's episode? Were you surprised at the results?
Thanks for reading!

OK - you are officially my favorite recapper! The babies are one of the most annoying teams ever...I think Jen annoys me the most though...I don't think I would have been able to stop myself from punching her during the counting challenge...2 funny things - when Christina said I love you to Moronald and the first thing that comes out of this mouth is "I hear they have great pastries in Lithuania." Then at the end when the clue asked who the better counter was and big blonde said "i am" then little blonde said "no, i am - you interpret things wrong" as much as i wanted an all female team to win, i'm so glad theyre gone!

I was SO EXCITED to see the Blondes leave this week (not as excited as I would have been, had they, say, been flattened by a bus).
My only hope is that next week Nate and Jen go home. Or that in the preview we saw - where Nate stops rowing - his next move is to throw himself in the water and just float while the rest of the times row past.
I am still pulling for Christina, even though that means Moronald must stay around. The "good pastries" line after she told him she loved him is a classic. My father is a huge Amazing Race fan, and as soon as the show was over my cell rang, just because he wanted to try that line out on me.
Do you think any of these people watched the show before they tried out?
Great recap! I had to stifle my laughter at work.

I can't believe I know how to properly pronounce Ouagadougou now.

The episode was good. I liked seeing TK and Rachel come all the way back, Jem and Rio are fairly cohesive. Christina has the patience of an angel (and in the last episode, did anyone else notice Nick putting his arm around her at the pit stop?) for dealing with her dad. Nick is the weak link of his team, oddly. The Babies should get off my television soon. And Azaria/Hendekea... how come Azaria doesn't have a nickname yet? How bout Ass-aria? Here's a great idea: Why don't we put Ass-aria and Moronald on the same team, then Hendekea and Christina on the same team? I'd watch both those teams, for differing reasons.

I can't wait for the next episode; rowing tends to bring out the bitch in everyone for whatever reason.
The Siblings continue to gross me out even though i want them to win; them or Jem and Rio only because it'd be truly outrageous.
Moronald pisses me off to no end. I understand why he is the way he is but jeez, this isn't the old country. Treat your daughter right.

I like the babies, the blonde girl is cute. I think it's her freaking boyfriend that is problem with that couple. In the beginning, he yelled at her for not running and not keeping up. In this episode, she's trailblazing and he calls it "stressing" out. Make up your mind moron!
Henedekea and Areola's relationship is very peculiar to me. I just don't get the holding hands and such.
Amazing recap as usual. Thanks for your insights.

Krizzatch- It is scary how easily Ouagadougou rolls off the tongue now- I don't even have to stop and look at every syllable anymore.

They gross me out to no end.

Uh yeah....cuz they are brother and sister.....
HG, you referred to them as a couple and they act like one...but alas they are siblings....
which makes it so gross and weird....especially when they fight. They have had a couple fights that sounded just like lover's quarels. Ewwww!
My vote is Team Incest

Hopefully, the siblings (and Ron) just have a cultural based misunderstanding. I do want to smack most of the men in this race every once in awhile for the arrogant and disrespectful way they treat the women in their lives.
Women who are not related by blood are partially to blame for their own victimhood. The blonde baby, for example. Leave him; yesterday.
There did seem to be a lot of warm, attractive people in Lithuania. Anyone know the web site for Travelocity?

Strange season. I'm still rooting for Nathaniel and grampa and Pinky and Vixen.
I wish there was a gay team still in the running but oh, well...

Been reading these recaps for going on a year now and a big "Fuck yeah" to all you guys. I am just old enough to be humiliated that I know the Jem/Rio reference.
Well done.

To gnomescorp:
How anyone could like two people who bring out the absolute worst in each other over ten other (surviving) people who bring out the best in each other is beyond me.
