My biggest problem with her is that she wasn't always plus-sized. Her pre ANTM modeling pictures are around the internet if you look for them, and she was once a skinny chick. So I don't understand where she gets that attitude from. Methinks she gained some weight unintentionally, and was like, fuck it-- I'm a plus-sized model now. And come on, we all grew up in America. And I'm from So Cal where plastic and superficiality is at its max, nobody would have made fun of a girl as pretty a Whitney for being fat, because.. uhh.. she's not exactly fat. Her story just reeks of BS to me.

And I was a Fatima fan, but yes, she sucked and deserved the cut. Anya, however, did not. I feel sorry for her.. that last dress she walked in was not right.

Even though she was a little snotty at times, I think Whitney deserved to win. She will make a great plus size model. She really does need to tone down the walk though. Also, she looks like she's pregnant in that last fun photo pose for Seventeen.

I am glad that she won, but I actually was kind of rooting for Anya. Her voice makes my ears bleed, but I actually felt like she's been stronger across the board.

On the other hand, she's high-fashion and it is a CoverGirl contract. Whitney's commercial was WAY better and her picture blew Anya's out of the water. She's definitely more CoverGirl.

Fatima should have been eliminated way before - she's stuck up, doesn't listen and she is the SAME. And the fact that Tyra brought up Fatima's cause is BS - WHEN, except in the very beginning of the cycle, has she said how she wants to bring light to that cause? Never. It was definitely just a pity story.

I love Paulina. She's honest and she doesn't beat around the bush. Tyra is so full of shit that I just ignore what she is saying - her standards change every week. I liked Twiggy, but she was blah. Paulina is a breath of fresh air.

Whitney didn't win because she's plus-sized, she won because no one can understand a GD thing Anya says. CoverGirl probably got pissed when mush-mouthed Jaslene won and told them hell no is that girl going to be a spokesperson for us.

I'm a Paulina fan too, and I thought she was quite good at posing for the girls and not doing Tyra . . . I do think Tyra and the gang have run out of things to say . . . after many cycles, I was thinking they were setting it up to have Paulina take over, and Tyra step down . . . we'll see . . .

Horrid Anya pic, hello, I'm not a photographer, but redonk! She looks cross eyed and yes, dumb!--she is a nice girl though. I once saw outtakes of a Sarah Jessica Parker hair color commercial, and it was ONE MILLION TAKES, of every 2 words, AND she's an actress . . . so I think it's pretty stupid they shoot a whole monologue and expect it to hit on every sentence . . and besides, aren't the "My Life as a Cover Girl" commercials the sole duties of said cover girl . . . don't they only run on the show, or has anyone seen them elsewhere . . . coz, frankly, what's the dif, those suck, and don't make me crave mascara . . .

Loved Whitneys pic, awesome, but weird retouching around the lips . . . next season I'm looking for the plant, are all these shows doing that, just picking a chosen one, and surrounding them with also-rans . . . would be really weird if Whit gained weight to be the first plus size winner, but it would explain their lack of praise up till the end. I have to be honest and state that I really don't like your recaps-I found you way too biased in favor of certain people, and I felt like you constantly twisted around the actions and words of the girls this season in order to make them fit your mold of who you thought was a good or bad person- you constantly belittled Fatima and Dominique's achievements, and over-exaggerated their bitchy moments and undermined their more sweet moments, as well as over-looked and played down Whitney and Lauren's infuriating and at times bitchy personalities. I liked Whitney in the beginning for how she stuck up for the meek Aimee when she was attacked by Claire and others, but overtime, Whitney proved too fake and too unnecessarily mean to certain people, and Lauren just turned out to be a sociopath. I felt you were too one-sided- I feel like maybe you should, I don't know, grow up and realize that it is possible that people can at times be both bitchy and at other times genuine, arrogant but also sincere-in other words, COMPLICATED beings. I was annoyed by your one-track mind and how you constantly put some down no matter what, but gladly overlooked flaws in others- to me, Whitney was one of the most repulsive people this season-most girls in their post ANTM interviews cite both Fatima and Whitney as the two biggest bitches this cycle. Also, Whitney is a straight up liar, crying about how she was teased "all her life" for being fat- for those that wish to check it out, as well as those that want to read quality and truly hilarious recaps from this past season of ANTM-

I was very happy that Whitney won. I really liked Anya but couldn't understand a word she said. She was from Hawaii so where exactly did that accent come from? I couldn't stand Fatima-too skinny, bad skin, bad attitude. You know the final was set up-they picked Whitney that designed just doesn't have plus size clothes hanging around. BTW, she is not fat and would never feel that way growing up. In a house of skinny bias sure she would. Also, have been watching ANTM for awhile but what is Ms/Mr. Jays story?

Yeah, and if you're going to criticize me on my punctuation, you might want to try using phrases in their proper sense- it's called "now and then", not "now in then". Based on this cycles' recaps, I would NOT call you biased, I would call you RIGHT. Lauren and Whitney had their bitchy moments, but don't we all?

She was cast to be the winner from day one. She was 'discovered', told to gain some weight because she was in between sizes and they wanted a "plus size winner" this season. She's already lost a ton of weight since ANTM finished taping.

And her whole "I've always been fat and made fun" crap is just that. First of all, she is NOT fat- she is what the average person looks like. It's the skinny supertall twigs that are uncommon in average America! And she wasn't fat at all. She was between a size 4-6 before being cast on the show!!

This show has jumped the shark. Last season Saleisha was cast to be the winner, now this. Load of BS.

What's the deal with the judges walking down the runway before the show lately? I don't recall them doing that before last season.

angel, I didn't say she's a size 4. I read an article that had pictures with a MUCH skinnier Whitney that said Whitney was discovered by the ANTM people. Because she was not thin enough to be a model (size 4-6) and not heavy enough to be plus-sized, they told her to gain some weight so they can cast her as the plus size (since they wanted a plus size to win). I'll bet money that she'll be much thinner when she's shown again.

Terrific recaps, Hoolia! They truly made this season so much more entertaining and interesting...

Loved Paulina as a new judge - really makes you wonder HOW they kept Twiggy on for so long.
Hmm... and why did Nigel Barker shoot the 17 cover? I mean, after everything we've seen of him (think back to the matador shoot season 7) - isn't a 17 cover kind of...blah in terms of exciting shoots?

As for Whitney - I think she worked hard, and she deserved every week and every step they put her through, so I'm happy for her, and I also think she's classic covergirl. But it's kind of unfair that top model get to pat themselves on the back now for letting a "plus size" girl win. There should be more specific categories to "plus size" and not - anything higher than size 4. Sure, whit was curvier than most models, but it's still no where close to say - had Tocarra (season...3? 4?) won, or even Whitney season 8.

Also - did anyone else feel that the cultural part of "being abroad" this season was a little bit overlooked? I mean, sure there was the covergirl thing a short tour of the city on day one, but I sort of had to remind myself every episode - oh right, they're still in Italy. Where was the mandatory "finding your own way around a foreign city and getting lost" part, or the "hooking up with cute Italian guys in the hottub"? Even Tyra got confused and greeted them in French...

Oh, and one last thing - remember Fatima's "cause"? And how she cried in the beginning of the cycle that all she wants to do is dedicate her life to making sure others won't have to go through that? Now that she's achieved her (15 minutes of) fame and (surely at least a fraction of a) fortune - It'll be interesting to see if she really plans on following that promise through....

In any case, Hoolia you were great!! So keep it up and be as biased and bitchy and cynical as possible plz.

I liked Anya's runway. I really thought she should have won. Whitney wasn't really that good and I think she had a stank attitude to top it off. She did look good on the runway though and her CG picture was awesome.

I think she's aiming a little high with her whole "Changing the face of modeling" thing going on. But, it could have been much worse.

I agree with the first poster. Whitney shouldn't have won but Tyra had to give it to a "plus-sized model" at some point. It might as well be on the 10th season anniversary. Nice little footnote that will make in the show's history.

Whitney's face is pretty but that's all she had going for her. Her commercials sucked. Her pictures were eh. What did Tyra mean by "there's something ugly on the inside"? My theory is that it takes a fake bitch to know another fake bitch, and Whitney was looking mighty familiar to Tyra. A kindred soul, if you will.

Anya was the nicest contestant, but her big schnoz and horrible accent killed it for me.

Fatima was the prettiest of all the contestants this cycle but her personality was annoying. And she was inconsistent. Sometimes, she'd do great, but then she would fall apart. Her stuck-up attitude is an act to cover up some deep insecurities. Hopefully, this experience gives her some genuine confidence. She was like Eva the Diva without the fierceness.

Speaking of Eva, she and Yoanna are the only contestants who I've felt truly deserve the title "America's Next Top Model". This season was pretty horrible. None of the girls were as good as the 5th from the last girl to go home on any of the other cycles.

This season was it for me. I think I'll just watch the finale of the next cycle.

Btw, I LOVED Paulina as a judge. She's an actual supermodel who still looks fresh enough to model right now if she wanted. She is honest and blunt about her opinions without going overboard in the mean department like Janice. Twiggy was extremely boring and I'm so glad Tyra got rid of her. I might watch more than the season finale if they bring Paulina back.

Ooh, you know who would make an excellent supermodel judge? Naomi Campbell! Imagine the bitchfights at panel between her and Tyra. Their rivalry was pretty legendary back in the day. And Naomi is more than a little crazy. Who wouldn't tune in to see Naomi throw her shoe at Tyra?

I also agree with Jazzhands about your slanted and biased recaps. You made no bones about favoring Whitney, which is okay. That's your right. But Jazz is right about how you would downplay her extremely bitchy comments and turn everything Fatima or Dominique did into the worst. things. ever! At this point, most of the contestants on ANTM are either in the "too blah for words" or the "too bitchy for me to root for them" category.

Whitney is racist. I haven't forgotten her fight with Dominique where she used the ultimate racist's self-defense line "My best friend is black!" I highly doubt that. Whitney is a big fake. The only thing real on her is her chub...which we're now finding out was only recently gained.

To angelbayyb, maybe you need to concentrate on improving your reading comprehension skills instead of modeling. Serjen said that Whitney was a size 4-6 BEFORE being cast on the show.

All I can say about my recaps is that I write them the way I like to read them - I'll take the recapper's voice and opinions over a play-by-play synopsis any day. With competition-based shows, I think it's more fun to root for someone, so I write about it. Whitney's bitchy comments mostly seemed immature to me and weren't as fun to dissect as self-righteous stuff like "Dominique is so beautiful and Dominique wants to make sure that Dominique is the next Mother Teresa." That, my friends, is a recapper's goldmine!

Re: The pics of pre-ANTM Whit circling the internet. I'm not sure how much I buy the story that she gained all the weight on purpose to be planted on the show. Someone says the pics are from a year ago, but there's no way of proving that. The girl's only 20, meaning that her body probably changed A LOT in the past few years for any number of reasons - she could have been a late bloomer, gone on the pill, gained the freshman 15, etc, etc. In the swimsuit pics, you can tell that she has a bigger frame to begin with - those hips don't lie! Plus, in those shots, she's not even close to Anya or Dominique's size and it looks to me like she's sucking in, too. Yes, I spent far too much time analyzing. I do agree though, that her little "I was always put down for being the fat girl" speech was overdone/lies.

OH and I'm glad that most of you seemed to love Paulina as much as I do. She's such an improvement on Twiggy!

I like Whitney but I really thought that Anya should have won. Yes, she's difficult to understand but she took amazing pictures, won the most challenges, and was never in the bottom two. Eh, whatevs, though.

Rubinia: Anya would have won had Covergirl not been the contract they won. I could never really understand what on earth she was attempting to say and it annoyed me because she's adorable and will do very well in the modeling industry. She can't be a spokesperson though and Covergirl actually needs the girls to be able to speak and be understood.

Jaslene can't really speak English and looks like a tranny, I think they were scared she'd kill herself or harm others if she didn't win. CoverGirl probably got PO'd and said no more mush mouths.

She criticized ANTM in interviews for not producing real models (so true) and a lot of times her criticism was true and harsh, but definately not in line with Tyra's. Whitney sucked at posing, she always looked to me like she was trying too hard to look sexy and ended up looking ridiculously fakey porny instead. Anyway, Anya will do well in actual fashion modeling, while Whitney will do fine at being a Covergirl, which is nowhere near the same. Anyway, I've only ever tried to keep up with the post-ANTM career or my favorite hamster ever, Brittany from cycle 8 (remember? seemingly hopeless walk? meltdown in Australia?) and she seems to be doing quite well, thank you very much, modeling actual fashion (not catalog!) in Europe and even recently walking in an Italian designer's fashion show. I bet Anya will do just as well.

I too don't think Whitney deserved to win... or Saleisha. Tyra doesn't want anyone that will outshine her or actually be successful. The only winner who I've seen in actual fashion shows at fashion week is Jaslene of all people, and she actually looks a lot better and softer. If you look at any of the top models right now they look nothing like most of the people on this show...

To the people who criticised Fatima for not spending more time talking about her cause, may I remind you that this show is edited for entertainment value and she could of been spending hours a day talking about it with no guarantee that it would ever be aired.

I'm shocked by a lot of the comments. I thought Whitney was drop dead gorgeous from day one and almost always loved her pictures. Like most of you, I had some issues at times with her attitude but c'mon people, she's as deserving as any of the other winners I can recall. And if she gained weight to be on the show, she STILL WON the show at that weight. And imho, deservedly so.

I think a lot of them will get work anyway and I don't think it sends the wrong message to American girls that you don't have to be a size 0 to be beautiful. So if it was "planned" or not, eh.....not so bad an outcome. :)
