After last week's America's Next Top Model, you sort of had to wonder if there would be any drama left for this week. We have narrowed the field down enough that we are getting to the point where you could make a case that any of the remaining girls could be the next top model. There is sort of a sense of anticipation not only because there are fewer and fewer weeks until we are finished, but you know that the stakes are high for all of these girls right now. The girls have invested a lot of time and energy into the process by this point, which makes being sent packing all that more difficult. And yes, I know the title wasn't original, but I laughed so hard at m_ruvs newsgasm title, I thought I would pay homage.
There was still a little bit of fallout from the Jayla stole Nik's secret thing from last week. Nik can definitely hold a grudge and she has pretty much refused to associate with Jayla. For her part, Jayla realizes that Nik is angry, but it's no reason to treat her poorly and act immature. Oh, that's right, I forgot that being mature involves talking behind somebody's back and making a threat to her on camera. Actually, maybe it was a promise. I remember it was my 5th grade teacher that introduced me to the phrase "that's not a threat, it's a promise" trying to get me to narc on my friends. While I promise you that I am completely surprised by how huge of a bitch Jayla has become. Now, I'm going to be honest, this is a modeling competition and I think that she has a good look, but why the attitude?
I was beginning to think that Jayla hadn't made any friends, but then I noticed that Bre was holding her legs in the air positioned like she was going to get a bikini wax. It turns out that Bre was just helping Jayla crack her hips. I guess when you haven't felt the proper love of a drunken biker 'twixt your nether regions, you have to do something to hold you over. I thought the protocol was a warm bath and perhaps a massaging showerhead, but this could work as well. Jayla's hip cracked, and I am sure Kim was taking notes on the proper angle for whenever she gets back to her girlfriend.
It wasn't too long into the show when Tyra paid another visit. Each girl was going to have a personal photo shoot coached by Tyra. It was going to be very simple, black and white, and she said it was something she and her friends do all the time. Let me tell you, there's nothing like having a few friends over, drinking a few beers, and the pulling out your F-body and going vogue. And sometimes, when we get really loaded, we whip out the macro lens! Yeah!

i was so surprised to hear that kyle had been booted but i guess it makes sense since it is true that the judges hate no personalty. i thought it would be kim. i'm sick of her. she doesn't bring it in her pictures! i think most of her pictures look awkward.

Arghhhh, good god why is Kim still around. I'm beginning to think she must be the producer's niece or something. The judging is sooooo fickle. Kim has one photo marginally better than mediocre, thanks in large part to the styling and stays, whereas Kyle who's performed well has a so-so photo and gets sent packing.
Mind you I've never been hugely thrilled with Kyle, I find her a bit bland. But she has a hell of a lot more potential than that ho-hum, one-note Kim. And what's with all this "I have a natural talent," "I have a high-fashion look" and "I'm on fire this week" nonsense. Yeesh!
I really love Lisa. She's obnoxious, but doesn't seem to be bitchy or whiny like some of the others. She's a drunk, but then a lot of models are. But her photos are amazing. She poses with every inch of her body from head to toe. No she's not young and fresh, she's not the prettiest, but there have been models like her before, though that's probably not what ANTM is going for. Have you noticed that Nigel really has it in for her. Something about that bothers me, like he only likes the naive, ingenue types. Prick.

Kyle was by far the most attractive of the girls left, im seriously considering boycotting the show from here on in. although it will be fun to see Kim get sent home, and hear her say "gender" like sixteen times while moping off into the sunset/elevator. Ok, so Nic and Kim are better prospective models than Kyle?

I thought Nicole's B&W photo was absolutely stunning. I would hang that on my wall. Kudos to Tyra. She really is talented in a lot of different ways. Jayla should probably win. But they're editing her up as a bitch, which means they're probably getting ready to cut her. Oh well.

I was happy when they let Kyle go, she was so boring, and I don't get why people thought so was so beautiful. She wasn't fugly, but she's no Angelina Jolie.
Nik's lips get on my nerves for some reason...she never seems to quite get her mouth right.
Bre is adorable but does take rather boring pictures.
Kim has the weirdest looking face EVER. I was laughing out loud at the part where you were describing her face, because it's so incredibly true. Her face looks like it's got major swelling from some accident or something. But her pin-up picture was gorgeous. I never would have thought that was her in a million years.
Lisa is old and ugly. I hated her black and white (furrowed brow? not pretty). Her jawline is weird, her eyes don't draw you in, they are scary; she always seems to be manic and then she drinks and she's depressed.
Nicole is just kind of there. She's pretty, but not exceptional. And that black and white made her look like she was possessed. Just me?

why is everyone picking on kim?! it's true that she does have a bit more to overcome and work toward, but i think that she is doing rather well in trying to get where she's trying to go. i, personally, LOVE kim. she is definately my favourite. i think she did exceptionally well this week. :)

I think the best part of this episode was when the judges told Nik exactly what Lisa had told her (about being too muscle-y) and they edited it as if we had forgotten that Lisa had said it and the judges were the first to make this observation. BUT WE DO NOT FORGET! Lisa kicks ass. Props to all the old drunk, bossy chicks.

I too thought that lisa's B&W picture was horrid! That whole furrowed brow thing made her look damn scary! I know these people have experience and everything but sometimes I just wonder what the hell they're smokin. Lisa is good though, even though i dont like her.
I used to like jayla but she is gettin bitchy for no reason.
I really have no idea who would win or who I want to win...I dont really think anyone is that great. I do think Nik is the most interesting looking one though.

My favorite pic today were the BW, of Nik and Nicole. I really didn't think the girls were too good for the other pictures. They needed models that had some curves to them.

I really liked the black and white photos. My favourites would probably be Nicole and Nik''s B&W ones. Also, the idea of the "40's pin-up" was good, but the B&W pictures were a lot better.

I think that Kyle should have stayed. I do think that she had a bad choice of clothes on the "what is sexy?" part of the show, i do think that otherwise she has been doing amazing.
Lisa, as much as i truly hate her, i think should stay. She's taken some good pictures.
Jayla just isnt that good...shes just bitchy.
and Kim. I thought she looked REALLLY good in the last photoshoot...she should def grow out her hair.

J-Unit, you forgot the best part - when Nigel "accidently" called Kim "Tim." That shit was fun-ny!!
I am so over Jayla. She photographs well but she's got a gummy smile and is by no means hot enough to be ripping on everyone else. Of course, all those bitchy comments were probably made over the entire season and edited in to one episode.
I feel like they kept Bre because they felt sorry for her. Which I would too, she seems so sweet. But it's hard to justify telling someone she's got the best body there and then cutting her.

That "Tim" thing was funny. But for me the best part, was Tyra's unintentionally hilarious preamble to the elimination. As if the "I have seven beautiful girls standing before me... blah blah Gilles Ben-seee-moohnn blah blah ..." wasn't already cumbersome enough she keeps right on going explaining the obvious, "I'd usually have 6 photos in the envelope but since you did two photos blah blah blah I actually have 12 photos etc etc." Yeah, Tyra, we get it! The stuff Tyra smeared all over their faces for the black and white photo shoot was good old Vaseline I believe.............correct me if I'm wrong?? Those b/w photos were absolutely beautiful.....I myself wouldn't mind a "5-minute photo shoot" with Tyra if the picture is going to turn out like that!

Whether or not Jayla is top model material, she does not deserve to win. The way she talks about people is pretty hateful. Hmmm, pent up anger maybe? Notice also how she talked trash about Nik on camera but never confronted her about anything. And she does this after complaining that Nik is two-faced?
And I'm seriously annoyed that the judges keep picking Kim because she can bring something different to modeling. I do think she has an attractive looking face, but you need more than that to be a model. And having one great picture does not mean anything. She has to remain consistant with her photos if she wants to remain in this competition, which I don't think will happen at this point. To me, she barely has any natural ability to model and this competition isn't THAT long. They need someone with more potential than Kim, plain and simple.

I agree that this season is weak. I was mad right off the bat when they cut ashley for bascially no reason. I like Bre the most because i feel like she wants it the most and is the most model-y one left next to nicole. I feel that kim is too uncomfortable in her own skin to ever be able to do a runway let alone take a good picture ( her body is also not the most attractive). nik has horrible presentation skills and wouldnt be able to ever be a good advertiser. lisa is too old and wrinkly. jayla looks like white trash half the time. finally, nicole looks like she is on numbing drugs that suck all the fun and interesting personality out of her more each week. i really hope they pick a sellable girl this season. i really disagreed with naima last season, i dont see her as a model at all. i think either bre or nicole should win so i hope bre improves and lets her nerves calm down and her personality shine through.

I really hope Bre improves too, becuase I really want to see her win. Everyone says that Lisa, Kim, or Nik is going to win. I want to prove them wrong, because Bre is better than all 3 of them, + she has more potential. I wish the top 3 would be Nicole, Nik, & Bre, because Jayla,Lisa, or Kim does not look like a covergirl. (in my eyes)! I really don't even see Nik as a covergirl. I think the girls have better shots than what they (Tyra and Jay Maniel) pick. Like on the superhero, paired, and running shoots, Bre had a lot of better frames than what they showed at panel. I hope she improves.

b&w's horrible, nicole was the only one worth anything, and why do all the pinup shots have the same pose? lisa was the only one that got close to looking like a pinup girl, and not looking like a bonehead touching the car and looking at the camera..sorry i know im a lil late on reading the recap, but it was muy bueno!! and not that my opinion really matters, but i really dont see model material in any of these ladies...not a very good choice of contestants this time around.. : (

I agree a little bit w/ you. It is hard to make a top model in only a few weeks, but at the same time they can learn a lot in them few weeks. I disagree when you said you don't see model in anyone of those ladies. I see model in Lisa, Bre, & Nik.
