Well kids, the time has come for this Cycle of America's Next Top Model to come to an end. That's right, the reign of T-Bo, with all her bad advice (see makeovers), hypocratic decisions (see Sarah) and Godzilla-sized ego is over (see final runway show). But what do we think of the winner? I'm sure by now all of you are familiar with SaleishaGate '07, which I personally think makes it a perfectly disappointing end to a completely disappointing season. What's that? You don't know of this? Not to worry, I'm a champion super sleuth (remember?), and I've got the lowdown. Welcome to a special edition of TVGasm Investigates.
SCANDALOUS!
This week starts out with T-Bo giving us a rundown of the top 13 and reminds us just how hard the top 3 worked to get where they are and trust me, they have really worked hard. I mean, Saleisha had to start working at it at 14 to make it this far!
The girls arrive back at the house from the last elimination to find Tyra Mail. Its time for the girls to show their flavor! Chantal is pumped and knows that its going to be CoverGirl somethingorother. Then they all lay around and talk about who's going home next. Jenah thinks that if Saleisha and her are in the bottom two, she'll go home. Oh, Jenah, I don't think you'll go home if you and Saleisha go head-to-head, I know you will. You know why? Because Saleisha is Tyra's protege, and Tyra could never cut a T-Zoner. Probably because she knows that if Saleisha did get cut, she'd never find work again thanks to that haircut.
The next day the girls meet up with Jay and Brent so they know its CoverGirl time. Today they'll be shooting a print ad and a commercial. The print ad is important because the winner's ad will be used in a national campaign. Meaning we will probably never see it again unless its as and advertisement for Cycle 10. But that's not all! Here to do nothing but talk up winning while the girls get their hair and makeup done is none other than... Jaslene! Chantal feigns excitement because she's a team player and Jaslene tells the girls that the experience will totally change them. Like, they find out like, SO much about who they are its like, unbelievable. Quite the spokesperson, that Jaslene is.
Chantal is up first for the commercials and actually remembers her lines! Jay tells her to try it again but to make it more conversational. I love how they always want it to be conversational. Because anyone would ever just happen to be hanging out by a pond in China, in an evening gown, in the middle of the day, chatting with a friend about what flavor of lip gloss she'd be and why.
Friend: "Hey Pach, what's shakin?"
Me: "Hey Girl! Oh, you know, the usual. Just sitting here admiring my tube of CoverGirl WetSlicks Lemon Splash lipgloss.
Friend: "Um...okay... what's with the dress?"
Me: "You like? New CoverGirl WetSlicks Fruit Stuffisnice compliments it perfectly."
Friend: "Are you feeling alright?"
Me: "You mean why is Lemon Splash my favorite flavor?! Because its twist of fruity citrus keeps me feeling fresh!"
That's how I lose most of my friends, I wouldn't recommend it.
When she's finished, Chantal tells us she believes that she really embodies CoverGirl. You do, Chanty, you do, but did you go to T-Zone?
Jenah is up next and completely blanks as soon as she gets in front of the camera. By the 11th take Brent suggests cue cards. He asks nicely enough but Jenah refuses. People have been telling her she's not nice and personable all season, why stop being difficult now? They give her one more take without the cards and she nails it.
Saleisha's commercial is last and she, too, forgets her lines. At the 17th take she starts welling up, asks if she can have a second, and walks off the set. That is SO not CoverGirl, Saleisha. She tells us that Tyra said if you feel like crying or just can't do it, get off set. Aww, she takes her advice! Good protege! Jay gives her a pep talk and she (finally) rocks it.
After the commercials are all done the girls do their photo shoots. Everyone's goes well and the girls head to panel!
At panel, Tyra announces the guest judge - designer Qi Gang - and tells them that the finalists will "stomp to the death" in a fashion show of Qi's. Stomp to the death, hilarious foreshadowing, T-Bo!

As soon as Jenah was booted, I felt like I could stop watching. I really didn't care if either one of them won... though, duh, of course it would be Saleisha. Jenah would have totally stomped it out with her and there would have been a real competition at the end. And what the heck was that all about when Tyra was saying "You have the best pictures that have ever been taken in the history of ANTM... but we are letting your arse go home anyway." Total nonsense. She would have been interesting to watch in those otherwise boring "my life as a covergirl" ads.

Pachita, you are the one that had the sidewalk chalk memory? I was just telling someone about that the other day when describing what sorts of things are at tvgasm. That story makes me laugh every time I think of it, but I couldn't remember which recap it came from.

I'm taking it that means Twiggy's leaving the show . . . What other "fashion industry icon" can they get to fill her shoes . . . she did grow into a rather normal looking person, considering how striking she was.
Oh well, I could never believe T-bo would cheat on her own show, no wonder she's been saying "commercial" with such disdain as it pertained to Sally. Perhaps, trying too hard to cover up her favoritism . . . oh well, I agree Patch, pretty predictable, except for the stilt falling down. "sniff" and now, "sniff" well, I guess that's "sniff" the end . . .
I hope we hear from Heather again, and Pach, I promise not to pick up any sidewalk chalk!
Oh, and lastly, if I pretend Jasline is really a drag queen, it somehow makes me warmer toward her . .. . strange!?

Oh T-Bo, where to begin...I'm so disappointed in you and please, please tame that ego of yours. It is OUT OF CONTROL!
Tyra's "entrance" to that runway show was ridiculous...I too was so disgusted, I couldn't even laugh or make fun of it. Sources tell me, the people of China LOVE ANTM...yet they still had to pay 500 "extras" to actually attend?! OUCH!
If anything, I was glad Jenah let the judges know, you don't have to be an uber-fake "bubbly" moron who "incessantly spews rainbows" to be a good role model. Also, I just listened to an interview with Tyra's protege (topmodelgossip.com) and she doesn't come off sounding very intelligent...or "bubbly" for that matter.
Thanks Pach for the always entertaining recaps...I will miss them terribly!

Ugh. Tyra. She seriously makes me want to throw up. Though, maybe if I watch her enough, I'll lose all my body fat and then I can be a model, too! And I can be there, telling my friends about my fruity-flavorful sexy shiny lipgloss.
Anyway. Yes, you are awesome, and I had tons of laughs. You have an amazing stomach to be able to sit through that whole season. Yikes!

this show shouldn't be called "america's next top model" it should be called "the girl that will have cover girl spots that only air during the next season of this show".
like jenah said, its not really a modeling competition anymore. its a personality competition. if it was a modeling competition, jenah (who by the way, was MUCH prettier with her old hair) would have won and dr. tyra wouldn't have made her cry at panel. seriously, you don't enter a modeling competition expecting your dirty laundry to be aired on national tv.
saleisha really isn't the worst that could have happened, but she REALLY needs a new haircut.

That picture of Twiggy makes all the ANTM finalists Cover Girl shots look like senior class pictures. Twiggy was a MODEL. Saleisha, Jenah, and Chantal are just reality show contestants

Loved the first screencap from Recess! I knew there were good things come and then I read this "Probably because she knows that if Saleisha did get cut, she'd never find work again thanks to that haircut." - I nearly died!

i feel sooo let down by ANTM...the judging is soooo obviously biased , it started with Sarah--she was eliminated for a bullshit reason....i remember (i forget the season) when the judges gave Kenyah shit for not being skinny enuf, Sarah lost a lil weight and she got kicked out????
also Lisa was eliminated waaaay too early....
another thing who died and made tyra Dr. Phil??? its sooo irritating when she tries to get emotions outta ppl, i would be like "I DON'T WANT TO TALK ABOUT IT , JACKASS". And how sometimes when she ASKS whats wrong and the girls start crying shes like " don't bring your probs to judging panel," im like , bitch, u asked! don't ask if u don't wanna know!!!!
i'm glad that Ebony told her to suck it and peaced out...
ok i know i'm rambling but one last thing, her f*cking ego is so damn ridiculous, if you wanna be in the spotlight, you didn't have to retire from modelin, honey...the show is about the models, NOT YOU...like was the drums and all dramatic entrance necessary???? i was embarrassed for HER!!!

I'm glad you share my sentiments on the season and am super sonic psyched you enjoyed the recaps!
Snooty- yes, the chalk-poo was totally me, as much as it pains me to admit it! :)
Judd - word on the street is she's being replace by Paulina Porizkova, who is allegedly hysterical. Maybe they're trying to jazz up panel a little bit? And no, its not strange, drag queens are totally endearing.
nakabe - I wasn't sure if anyone would recognize the Recess screencap! I'm a total dork and love cartoons so it was the first thing that came to mind

i agree with everything everyone is saying! even though i knew saleisha was gonna win, i still screamed at my tv when she did...when tyra came down the runway first and they announced her...i think i threw up in my mouth a little bit...and when they were judging jenne i honestly wanted to punch the judges! jenna was the most real of the 3 girls left...who do they think they are?!

Wow - this was truly the worst season yet - and I say after watching screechy Nicole win - which still bothers me to this day.
Anywho - the one thing that killed me was the issue of Chantal tripping that dude on stilts. I know models aren't supposed to "break form" (especially not in front of a PAID audience) but I was like - are you fucking kidding me? She could've friggin killed the guy (stomp to the death takes on a whole new meaning!) Okay maybe not killed, but checking on someone who fell on his ass because you tripped him I think makes her 10x better than Salesha -
Whatever I miss the old Tyra, like when she was on Fresh Prince and was sweet and funny. Now, she just pisses me off.

What a travesty! First - they drop the Stripper With a Heart of Gold and the Talented Miss Heather BEFORE Stiff-arse Bianca. Both of whom are worth a dozen Biancas. Then they send home Jenah after saying that they thought she had the best pictures of all the models left (& I agree w/ you Pach, I don't know where they get that her commercial sucked - I thought it was better than the other 2). & now we come to find out that the winner has actual modeling experience! I would speak up if I were Chantal! I'm not saying she was better on the runway, but this whole contest was rigged from the beginning.

Am I the only one who giggled when Chantal said that her lipgloss keeps her "feeling fresh". I smell a Vagisil reference...
Tyra is a cow. I really want to go on America's Next Top Model just so I can tell her what I think of her. And maybe throw a banana cream pie at her head. Her entrance was disgusting. She's a hypocrite, a wanna-be Oprah/Dr.Phil, and someone who clearly has issues giving up the spotlight. Her talk show is even worse than ANTM. She even went so far one day to say that she "won the genetic lottery". Shut your trap bitch. And you know what's ironic? Do you remember that episode in cycle 2 or 3 when the girls had to be in one of Tyra's music videos because she now apparently had a "singing career"? Yeah well I watched her show the other day (a rerun, of course) and she made this big tada about how bad she is at singing (clearly because she thinks it's SO funny to sing badly) and showed about 10 clips of herself doing it. Seriously, GET OVER YOURSELF. And you're a SUCKY, SUCKY actress too.
I am so tired of Miss Jay and how "hilarious" he is.
Twiggy and Nigel seem to be the only voices of reason on the panel, usually.
The only person on this show that I actually like and who ACTUALLY gives good advice is Mr. Jay. And he's the host of Canada's Next Top Model, boo-yah, so I will audition for that one first, then get American citizenship and tell Tyra what I really think of her. It's a flawless plan...

I've said this before but Saleisha's haircut makes her look EXACTLY like Tootie from The Facts of Life. Saleisha is such a dumb betch. Also, i used to watch Recess everyday after school, so i was EXTREMELY excited when i saw the screencap.

I was for Jenah the entire season and seriously thought she should have won,, she took the best photos and even if she is a bit quirky, who isn't? I couldn't believe Chantal said what she did in that last panel... nice friend!
Tootie winning was just a sad sad thing. And the fact that ANTM has all these rules that aren't even being followed makes the show pathetic,,, yet i still will watch season 10! (therefore making me pathetic??) T-bo pisses me off,,, and i'm so out of the loop.. what is with her and Janice? Big fight? I hear Janice was quoted the other day as saying that Jennifer Love Hewitt wasn't fat but T-bo was...MEOW! (cat fight)

Wow... I've been watching ANTM from the beginning (sad I know) and this was the worst season ever. Even worse than boring horrible Nicole beating adorable cute Nik.
I hated Saleshia from day 1. She has practically ruined my ability to watch any Beatles movie ever now as well (stupid T-Bo makeover).
Heather or Jenah should have won. Stupid season.
