It sucks that they killed her, but as sad as I am to see her go, I hope she stays dead because all the ways of bringing her back that have been brough up seem like they would make the show lame. But the writers have not let me down yet, we will have to wait and see. Thanks for the recap!

Sorry, but there's no way that they killed her off. The BSG writers have shown over the last few years that they are carefully building to something with regards to the search for Earth. All the way back in the episodes where Starbuck went back to Caprica they were begining to build up to her "destiny" with the artwork on her apartment wall. To have her "destiny" to be to happily die really wouldn't be worth all that effort. Either she's a cylon and will be reborn as one of the final 5, or she was rescued by that cylon raider she kept chasing after. That was definitely there, by the way. The last shot we have before her viper blows up is from Apollo's point of view. We're looking over his wing, and we see the raider come into view, then we see Starbuck's viper come up between them. He notices her, but not the viper, but it is important to realize that we have finally seen the raider "not through Starbuck's eyes." That little detail alone makes me think she isn't a cylon, but was instead rescued by them. They might even try to lead us on for awhile before we find out. The big clue will be her tats. If she's still got that huge tatoo on her arm that matches Anders' then she's the real deal (of course that wouldn't necessarily mean she wasn't "also" one of the final five).

I hope your right about her being picked up by the cylon raider, i saw it too. That shot over Apollo's wing was as you said. I just would really disapointed if she turns out to be a cylon.

I agree. There's no way she's dead. They have been building up her "destiny" far too long to just kill her off....and they never really wrapped up the whole cylon possibly taking her ovary plot??? I don't think she'll be a cylon....too predictable. This episode finally reminded me why I love BSG and I can't wait until next week!

The more I think about it, the more I think she can't possibly be a cylon. "Willow's" comment about the storyline with Starbuck's ovary made me think of this (I do think they've wrapped that one up, though--they used it with the little girl on New Caprica. Maybe they'll get back to it, but from a storyline point, they don't need to. They've used it already.)

Back to my main point: The cylons wouldn't have tried to harvest her "human" ovary if they knew she was a cylon. Granted, the cylons don't know the identities of the final five, but wouldn't they have recognized cylon biology in a medical facility like that? If she's really a cylon, then that would be a major inconsistency, and BSG is anything but inconsistent with the little details. It's a very tightly written series.

Besides, why have the cylon raider show up in that last scene just before Starbuck's viper blows if it wasn't real. I think it was still vague enough to keep the audience guessing because we had gotten used to seeing it pop up throughout the episode. We might not have made anything of it. It was only when we realize that we aren't in Starbuck's point of view that it takes on greater meaning. Why do that if it doesn't actually mean something? Why would the cylons have that mysterious raider there at all unless it was so that Leoben could "come for Starbuck" the way the oracle said he was?

ok, i have finally calmed down enough to comment. Starbuck can't be dead! i actually don't care how the do it, but she needs to survive.

i like the idea that Leoben--or who/whatever that was in her dream--was on the raider and he/it saved her.

when the episode began i kept thinking that they were trying to make it seem like she's a cylon, and i still think that is possible. i think they still would have taken her ovary if she was one of the final 5--it would have seemded strange for her to leave the farm untouched.

in the end, it doesn't matter--she just needs to survive. i can't look at spoilers for BSG--or heroes--because i usually love the way they surprise me, but i am really tempted.

OK. So, I just started watching BSG. I watched all three seasons over the course of the past week and I can't get enough. I'm made that I'm caught up because now I have to wait a week between each episode! AAAGGGHHHH...

Anyway, I first want to say that when I saw Starbuck "die" (if that is indeed what she did), I was thinking to myself, "What? THis isn't 24. You can't kill off a main character before the season finale! HOW DARE YOU!!!???"

But then I regained my composure and assured myself that they were going somewhere because not only would they not just blow off the whole "destiny" thing with some cheap death, but this entire episode was ABOUT her DESTINY! Why would they do that if there wasn't a reason behind her doing it?

And, for your NikBot, to answer your question about DUCK and LARA. They are characters from the 10 WEBISODE Arc on the BSG web site. I checked it out for the extended bonus scenes and saw the webisodes on the side, so I watched them there. You should check them out.
