Big Brother: Donnie Darko Edition

The caption is not from the show, it's just etched into the corner of my TV now.

Previously, on Big Brother, I went to Lollapalooza for three days, and while I was away, the show got AMAZING. There were banners, and Dick went all insane and made me hate him even more, and Jen got really bitchy towards Daniele and Dick, finally, and I can't wait to see what happens. Last week I was so tired of this show and all these people for following each other blindly instead of acting in their own interests, and now: this. Dear Whoever Sent That Banner: I realize that you're probably kind of crazy (the whole 'We <3 Nick' thing sort of tipped me off, because, um...nobody really does), but: thank you. Thank you for being coy about the America's Player twist by calling Eric a liar instead of directly revealing it, thank you for calling Amber a liar and making her look even worse than she already did, thank you for being willing to spend five hundred dollars or so just to screw with the minds of a bunch of idiots wearing bunny suits. And now, tonight's show.

We color in just after nominations have taken place; Jen is sort of at the point where she no longer cares whether she is nominated or not, so Dick takes it upon himself to both make them feel bad and (since his plan is to actually get rid of Eric) make himself feel smarter by haranguing them about their continual nomination. Jen is typically aloof about it, because (like me, and, I suspect, most of the viewing audience) she considers Dick and his stupid shenanigans to be no longer interesting. I'm sure Dick thinks that he's providing us with some sort of entertainment. In fact, I'm sure of it, because why the fuck else would he do this? To mess with Jen? Because she has been unaffected by pretty much everything he's done to her since they both stepped into the house. Shut up, Dick. Also, get your nasty bare feet off the kitchen counter. That's some communal shit, and no one needs your Lord of the Rings hobbit-ass feet where their chicken salad will eventually go.

In the backyard, Eric talks to Jess, Amber, and Dustin about the fact that Daniele is planning on putting him up after the veto competition takes place. Jess tells the rest of them about Daniele and Dick's plan, and how it includes Jess herself as the swing vote. They need four votes to oust Eric, and they're counting on Dick and Zach as two of those votes, Jen as a third after they take her off the block using the veto that they are presumably going to win, and Jess as the final vote. Dustin, Amber, and Jess agree right there that Dick and Daniele need to be taken care of (I concur, particularly the Dick part), and that they'll be keeping Eric in the house this week no matter what happens, using Jameka's vote as the fourth. Jess agrees to play along with Dick and Daniele to take them by surprise. Man, I hope this happens. It's not that I particularly like Eric all that much, it's that Kail is boring as shit and once she's gone this whole thing will be much more enjoyable. Well, after Amber's gone, too. And Dick. And Dustin. Can we just make this the Jen and Jessica show, please?

jessconfused.jpg

I'm sorry, I was thinking about puppies. What's that you said about the Jews?

Also, it's to their benefit to get rid of Kail, because at that point their alliance is officially the majority within the house, as five of a total nine remaining. If any one of them wins HoH, they all advance, simple as that. Why wouldn't you create a majority when you had the chance? The only flaw is that this plan involves Amber advancing ever closer to the finals, which causes many of my vital organs to cease function. But at this point, she's already on the jury anyway, so we're all stuck with her until fucking September at this point. Seriously, can I have Dreamz back? Because she is terrible. Amber and Dreamz should have a Righteous-Off, where they shout back and forth about who is more loved by God. What? He plays favorites!

Up in the HoH, Zach tells Daniele that since he doesn't really have anybody else to talk to (I wonder who could be at fault there), he's more than happy to just do whatever she wants so that he can survive another week. Daniele goes on at length about how "they made" her vote Nick out last week and how she's going to seek revenge and take care of the person who's actually responsible. So, here's the thing: you voted him out, sweetheart. Quit displacing your guilt and acting like it wasn't your decision. It was. You had a choice, and you VOTED HIM OUT. So: stop with this bullshit "for Nick" stuff, because it sounds an awful lot like "for Cappy" to my ears, is all I'm saying.

Just for fun they could make Zach America's Player since he needs to be told what to do anyway.

One of my favorite moments was when Eric told ED to "go *** yourself." If Jessica waffles and votes Eric out, I'm gonna be mad.

cajah [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Also, why is Amber getting away scot free when she was on the banner too? It was her idea to get rid of Nick (unless the feeds show differently).

MCH [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I am really really REALLY hoping D&D's plans go up in flames.

Also, SO MAD at Jen for outright lying to Jessica to spread Eric-hating. I liked Jen until that moment. (Smart move for Jen, but it still bugged me.)

Schoonie, thanks for pointing out all the flaws in D&D's logic. I've been thinking the same thing. It drives me crazy that they are all super-righteous high-horse about something they discovered on a banner and that they won't take responsibility for their own votes. Please let Eric win HOH next week andd nominate D&D.

nerrawllehctim [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Schoonie, not only the episodes got better, the recaps got better. We finally get our first Cappy reference of the year. Speaking of which, this year's Eric is also short.

Oh yeah, and bye, Eric. America's Player surely worked out for you.

Wondermutt [TypeKey Profile Page]:

"Way to outsmart youself, Chen Jennings"...

Hee-freakin-larious!!!!

Thanks Schne...Great Recap!! Hope you had fun at 'palooza!!

sparky [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I so loathe Dick that I don't even watch the broadcast any longer. I wait for the encore on the cbs site so I can skip over any part where he appears. Consequently I miss a great deal of the episode, so I REALLY NEED these recaps. Thanks so much!

I so want to see the part where Eric tells him off, but then I would have to see/hear Dick and I'd rather eat funk.

Why is America so retarded that he is still the most popular on the cbs poll? And do they represent a majority in any way? I am afraid and am staying in New York where it's safe.

Dani has a kind of mafia-daughter I-will-kill-you evil look on her face all the time now. Not nice at all. She really is defensive and nasty. There's a reason you have no friends in the house, honey.

Amber swears on her daughter's life and then lies, so maybe she's not so crazy about her daughter. I mean, she has yet to swear on her dog's life...

Yes, Schoonie, best moment of the season was Jen upstaging Jameka. I bet even god was ROTFL.

GO JEN!

This is the episode where I absolutely started to hate Dani and Dick (i know i was late on the ED hate). Dani is a disgusting little bitch and she is very similar to Dick. I can't stand the way they talk so smugly and act like they are holier than thou. it's like neither of them gets the fact that they are only HOH for one week (well for dick, it's been like 3 weeks in a row that he has been telling people what to do). Unfortunately I think Eric is getting the boot but I hope whoever is HOH next week gets both their asses up on the block and gets one of them out. They disgust me and I would like nothing more than to see them both walk out the door one after the other.

Eric telling Dick 1. that he could have voted to keep Nick and 2. telling him to f off, was great. Dick sounded like a 3 year old with his "liar!" retorts.

anw821 [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I like Eric and agree that he has been completely ham strung by the America's Player deal, but I still find it hard to root for him. One reason is that I can't stand the America's Player idea. It wasn't well thought out and I would like nothing better then to see another BB bad twist blow up in their face. The other reason is who Eric is aligned with. His success at this point also means success for Amber, Jameka and Dustin. I don't mind Jessica, but they are all members of Nerd Herd 2.

Who ever wrote that Jameka is the strongest player in the house was sorely mistaken. She absolutely has no dog in that fight, and she gives up all 5 HOHs. Are you freaking kidding me? She sure as hell knew what it meant when BB tried to get her to pony up the two fitty though. Oh, snap!

I'm way over the whole Bible bangin bit too. I didn't know random verbs and adjectives with God's name thrown in anywhere, constitutes a prayer. Taste God! Really?

I'm like many other BB 8 viewers, I'm finding it very difficult to root for anyone. I'll continue to pull for Jen, but she'll never reach Janelle status.

I almost fell off the couch when through in the white belt question over the church organ music.

Horcruxes, Dreamz and Randy Newman in one recap? Schoonie, you are the master of pop culture references!

And I had to totally bust a gut (yet again) reading this thing. Tears, even. It's a little embarassing to be boisterously laughing out loud reading this stuff. But I admit it.

Best part:

And that concludes the story of how Amber Versus The Tetherball was replaced as the best moment of the summer.

Amen.

ClariceStarling [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Did Jameka's "Taste God" thing make anyone else uncomfortable? It seemed a little sacreligious and weird.

anniedawg25 [TypeKey Profile Page]:

these have been the BEST 2 episodes of all season! IT JUST GOT INTERESTING!

D & D alliance....I hope it implodes quicker than the Stardust Hotel and Casino. Let's face it: they are in it for themselves and no one else. Dustin, Jam, Amb, Eric, Jess all need to realize that NOW. This is THE time to send them the big "fuck you" and vote to keep Eric in the house.
Add Jenn to that equation too, as well (even though I too was very disappinted that she told Jess that stuff about Eric)
...but the big question: Do you think any of them will have THE BALLS to stand up to D&D? NOW IS THE TIME...time to head off into BB war and I have a sinking feeling it aint gonna happen!!!!

I do not understand their logic about the Nick situation. They voted to get him out...they obviously wanted him out and he's gone. Who the fuck cares that he got 2 measly votes to keep him in. It doesn't take a genious to figure out that Zack was Nick's boy, and for 2 weeks in a row, Eric told ALL OF THEM how it would be a good idea to get Kail out. It's a moot point anyway....D&D are more paranoid than coked-out Ray Liotta in "goodfellas"

Shollia [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Schoonie you are my HERO!!
We think exactly like eachother!
The feed chatroom I go to is mostly pro-D&D and it just makes me sick how these people have been totally sucked in by D&D's conspiracy theory.
All of this crap is absolutely ridiculous and all of these HGs are MORONS.
Well maybe not all of them, Jen actually seems to not care what goes on, which is ok.. same with Zach.
But the rest of them are just so GD annoying I want to punch them all out.

bevo360 [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I will contribute both money and time to a "dump the funk" campaign. Where do I sign up???

Zharak [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Great recap

Jen is the BOMB!

Sowhat1234 [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I'm gonna have to agree with ClariceStarling. The whole "Tasting God" thing made me very very very uncomfortable.

I think Jameka and Amber are both the reason why Christianity is no longer legit! Jameka was asked in the last question to give up money just to make it to the end and she only gave 10 000$. The least religious of them all traded half of the money selflessly to make it to the end (Jen). Amber and Jameka even have the nerves to claim that selfishness isn't Christian in their Jew-bashing. If you guys were all Christians, you would have given that money away...especially you Jameka. Not taking money isn't selfish, but not giving it away doesn't make you not selfish either.

ALSO, when Jen went on the whole Eric bashing thing with Jessica, please remember that during Jen's HOH reign, America has asked Eric to petition Jessica's eviction. What Eric told Jen (who then went on to tell Jessica) could have happened. I'm only saying this because I'm rooting for Jen.

Thank you so much for the horcrux referance. It completely made my day.

So I am wondering why no one in the house seems to remember that the banner also outed the LNC as the new nerd herd. Are they all in denial that America knows they're losers? Or do they have such little game they didn't even get the referance?

qbmom [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Surely Jameka was saying "praise God" not "taste God", dontcha think? Maybe the CBS captioners have never been to church?

lickitysplit [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Best episode of the season.

I said this on the boards, but I'll say it again: if these people are smart--of course, that's a BIG IF--they will keep Eric around. The five have more power together to go up against D&D. What the HG aren't realizing is that D&D is an unbreakable alliance. There is NO WAY that they will turn on each other. Zach, Kail, and anyone else who thinks they can ride their coattails to power will be screwed in the end.

It reminds me of last season, when Dr. Will and Boogie made promises to everyone, and everyone thought that they would be taken to the end. What no one remembered was that nothing could come between Chilltown, and everyone lost out. It wasn't until Janelle came to her senses in the final four and sent Will home that Chilltown lost its power.

I think Amber is the real wild card this week. Who knows what that crazy moron will do.

I'm so glad everyone else found Jen hilarious as Jameka was praying. I had to pause the show so I could laugh for twenty minutes.

anniedawg25 (#13): loved the quote from Friends. can't sneak one of those by me.

agreed on the best BB moment so far = jen vs. jameka tasting God. it was almost too good to be coincidence. i think Jen knew what she was doing, and i love her for it.

i'm not here here to start a flame war, so i'll just simply say that all the Daniele haters got it all wrong.

Dear Jameka,

Tasting God is just what your minister told you to do to him in the privacy of his rectory. It is not an actual prayer.

Sincerely,

Jesus

sweetblondie [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Dear Jameka,

P.S. Stop talking to me already. I have to concentrate on helping Jen win.

sparky [TypeKey Profile Page]:

As much as I'd like to see D&D completely lose it on live TV, I really don't mind if Eric goes home. This is because Kail has spent three weeks on the block and she has dealt really well with it.

anniedawg25 [TypeKey Profile Page]:

poor, dead shannon.....LOL that's gotta be one of my fav "Friends" quotes. I can just picture Monica saying it now :)

CheriesTake [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Holy crap! The cheese has done slid off Jameka's cracker. Not only did she say"Taste God, Taste God, but right before that she says "I love you, I love you, you are my intimate lover God". WTF!!!!!!!
I DVR'd it and went back to make sure. I must have missed that in Sunday school. Where does she go to church? Hugh Hefner First Baptist?

ClariceStarling [TypeKey Profile Page]:

"Hugh Hefner First Baptist"!!! That is the best. And from the looks of her, Amber probably went there, too.

CheriesTake [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Amber went to Ho Heffer First Baptist down the street.
