***Please welcome your newest TVgasm writer into the fold with a show that you guys have been requesting forevs. MissCordy with Brothers and Sisters!
Previously on Brothers and Sisters,
The whole damn show. But, since this is its first appearance on TVGasm (mine too! YAY!), I will give you all a bit of backstory. Though, forgive me for not going into too much detail - if you're reading the recaps, I'll assume you've seen the show before. Plus, the DVDs are out. You have no excuse.
Nora decided to buy a huge house that she wants to turn into a halfway home for sick kids and their parents, and Saul has talked her into getting an architect. He also has a boyfriend, who we haven't seen yet.
Kitty is getting a book published, so she quit working for her Senator husband, who then turned around and asked Kevin to replace her as his Communications Director.
The Walkers were also dealing with a tragedy, involving Tommy and Julia's baby, Elizabeth. It seems that her little liver was collapsing and she needed a sliver of a new one, but Julia is not a DNA match, and Tommy isn't even her biological father.
Yeah, you remember that - his boys weren't up to the task, so Kevin and Justin stepped up to donate their sperm. Which was only slightly as icky as it sounds. So, we now need to know which brother did the donating, and it turns out to be Kevin. The baby ends up fine, of course, as does Kevin, but because we're talking about the Walkers, you know that there will be tons of drama about this disclosure. Which we'll hopefully see in tonight's episode. Oh, and Kitty and Robert are adopting a baby, which sounds much more interesting than it is.
And now for your feature presentation.
Kevin is dreaming, which we know from the bright colors and fuzzy picture. It seems he's having some kind of PTSD, either from the surgery he just had or the realization that he fathered his brother's child. Probably both. He keeps hearing a baby crying and his whole family is in the kitchen, which is probably enough of a nightmare in and of itself. And then Nora picks a LIVER up out of a skillet and says they're having it for dinner. Justin's mouth waters and he's all, "Sweet!" EW!
Kevin agrees with me because he wakes up sweating. Scotty is there, of course, being lovely as always and telling Kevin that he looks great and starts to go off on his wounded-war-soldier-and-male-nurse fantasy. That's Nora's cue to enter, so I guess Kevin is recuperating at Walker Manor.
She's typical Nora, shoving Scotty out of the way and asking Kevin if he knows who he is and yelling at Scotty for putting too many blankets on him. She also informs them that she put a baby monitor in and can hear everything they're saying. Oh, Nora.
Robert and Kitty arrive, and Nora yells at them about not stressing Kevin out, so no work talk. Saul and Justin are in the kitchen, discussing the architect that Saul has gotten to talk to Nora about her project. She then hands Justin a medal (his purple heart?) and they explain to Saul that he is Cooper's show-and-tell and the person he admires most.
Well, it's good to know that Sarah's kids have not been kidnapped by The Others or anything. I know you were all wondering, given that we haven't seen them in months. But rest assured, they're apparently fine. At least Cooper is. Paige is nowhere to be found in this episode.
Saul tells Nora that the architect he's found is some guy named Rodger Grant, who Nora knew about thirty years ago when he did the Ojai Foods building. Nora is not pleased and tries to distract Saul with a stuffed lamb that plays music.
Kitty comes storming in, bitching about the baby monitor being turned off and demanding an orange popsicle for Kevin. When they turn the monitor back on, they hear Robert and Kevin discussing an immigration bill and Kitty goes running upstairs to put a stop to it. Kitty starts giving Robert advice and agrees to take over for Kevin until he's up to returning to work. She then wraps a bathroom towel around his very messy popsicle, and I'm glad the Walkers can just not worry about ruining what I assume is a very expensive towel.
