I stumbled upon this show--when Bai Ling began singing it reminded me of two hoarse, mangry deranged cats having at it on the roof.

She's very popular in China and HK, and I think she does a lot of arthouse stuff here. Which basically means she's a scene whore.

I love me some Bai Ling. Does anyone else hear that scurry high-pitched background vocal? What in the world is that, it sounds like Gizmo from Gremlins. But what is scurrier is that I think I really like her voice when she does the first 'Call Me' on the chorus, hahahaha, her voice reaches a very nice place, and it has that little gruffness, I dunno, maybe I've just been listening to her too much, that'd damage anyone's sense of reality.
