After spending last week's episode visiting every radio station on the east coast, Shwayze and the boyz are back in home town L.A. And we join them this week as they make yet another radio station appearance. They're promoting their upcoming performance at Wango Tango, a giant concert with a catchy name.

Do you have any friends or coworkers who take way too much time to tell a story? They really only need about 40 seconds for set up and punchline, but some how they drag the tale on until your eyes glaze over and your mind wanders to thoughts of grocery lists and bills to pay.

Buzzin' is a bit like listening to your longwinded friend's pointless story. A tiny problem presents itself and then for 20 minutes the cast dances around, accomplishing nothing and wasting our time.

The big dilemma this week? Cisco's name isn't on the CD samplers the boyz will bring with them on their radio tour.

As someone who isn't particularly a wizard with money, I maybe shouldn't criticize the boyz of Buzzin' for managing to screw the cash pooch two weeks in a row. But I just can't help myself.

This week, Warren loses and envelope filled with $5000. We've all done that before, right?!

Does anyone remember that show Kid Nation that was on TV last fall? It was the one where 40 kids were sent to live in New Mexico and start their own town. And in the end, everyone learns that maybe it isn't such a good idea to leave kids to fend for themselves because they just aren't equipped for every day life.

I'm getting the feeling that Buzzin is a lot like that. Each week, the boyz get themselves into some predicament that any other normal adult would be able to handle quickly and by himself, but which they as a team cannot resolve.

This week: Shwayze's car gets impounded.

I'm not going to launch into a big claptrap about how the reality TV genre changed the face of television forever (I'll leave that to Communications majors with a thesis to write), but I will say this: it's certainly good at making up new celebrities and pushing them on us.

You've got your shows like American Idol and Project Runway that make real life people into celebrities. And then you have Surreal Life and Rock Of Love that turn has-been celebrities into somewhat relevant celebrities again for one final hurrah before they fade away forever.

But now there's something else. Something that deals with not-quite-celebrities-yet. A seriously contrived show that follows around Shwayze and Cisco, two guys that are sort of famous. The show's called Buzzin' and it leaves me wondering if these guys will still qualify for the has-been shows of the future or if they've cashed in their reality stardom passes too soon.
