This week on Celebrity Rehab, we find out what Drew thinks about the whole food fight debacle, and we also learn that these people have very little respect for anyone or anything other than themselves (or we learn again, because it's been obvious so far).
Join the club.

We open on day 17 and the morning after the big food fight where everyone was ready to shit on the previous 16 days' work. It's like Jeff left and then just about everyone adopted his perspective. Thank god for that.
Shelly fills Drew in on what happened last night, the food fight, and we see a replay of it. At one point Seth ate cereal directly off of the table. He's seriously got more psychological shit going on than just addiction because he's terribly immature. Bob walked in while Shelly was describing it, and he should have an interesting perspective on it. Shelly says she doesn't have the energy for it, and she's exhausted. Probably one of the worst things about bringing in so many people all in the same stage of addiction at the same time is that this acting out bullshit is multiplied by at least a million times. Shelly is kind of a bitch, but I wouldn't dare want her to be any nicer.
You're frazzled, grouchy, and completely over it. And that's why I love you.
Drew also says he's tired of fighting for people they care about a great deal and having the disease thrown back in their face. He also says he doesn't like bullshit and people arguing with treatment. Just do what you're told. Hmm, have I heard that before? I mean, besides from state assigned treatment centers. He just says "Whatever, I'm disgusted, I'm done"
Bob says they could be proactive and only graduate the ones that have fulfilled the treatment goals. Drew says fuck you Bob, this is my show, my rules. He doesn't really say anything resembling that at all, but he does say he's done and disgusted. And I would like to echo his statement, and also add that I would like a drink. A stiff one.
Shelly walks out and calls people for group meeting, and some dawdle. She's fed up, so she just brings the people who are ready and says she doesn't really care. This is weird, because it seems like the attitudes of the addicts are affecting the workers, but because the workers seem so apathetic to it, no one's attitude is going to change. And the addicts could care less about other people trying to help them. Seth strolls in and he's either ready to accept responsibility or brush it off to go use.
Your guess is as good as mine.
Drew tells us that he has to tell the people how frustrated he is and he's anxious about it. Then he gathers everyone and says that last night was a horrible sign for the recovery, so he's going to show them their videos before they came into rehab. Mary is up first and she doesn't want to watch it. She covers her face and looks on in horror.
Next is Jaimee. We see her smoking a lot, getting pissed off because she's out of weed, followed by sitting around, eating and laughing. No black lights though...that we saw.
Then it's Jessica's turn. We see her drinking while she's on whatever medications she's on, and then we see her throwing it all back up. Luckily they caught it on camera, and the people watching don't look too comfortable. The great thing about it is that her friends are totally enabling her too. Those are some great friends.
Now Seth. He pulls out a crackpipe and he says he'll probably die on that hit. The dude he's with says he couldn't do that in front of a camera. There's a lot of swearing, he compares himself to Keith Richards and also Jerry's kids.
Couldn't have put it better myself.
Then Drew stops tape. He says he's scared, saddened, empty and done. Enjoy the rest of rehab everybody! Then he lays a small guilt trip on them that the professionals have made their recommendations, but he's done trying to convince, and he's done making the effort. He walks out. Shelly takes this extremely hard and she's crying, as well as some of the other people.

Much better recap than last week Treading. It seems like you actually read our comments down here.
I'm very worried if this is where these people are, at the END of rehab. Shouldn't they deal with this sh*t in the middle of treatment? They should all be there for at least another month.
And I read that Jessica was presented with two work opportunities from her manager before this show. Either do "The Bad Girls Club" on the Oxygen channel, or do "Celebrity Rehab." That really gives a context for her annoying and immature attitude on this show. It's just another job to her...another way to get exposure. And I hope she sees the light soon.

oh tready...you certainly took the comments to heart from the last recap. to save you the grief...(and because i've loved each and EVERY one of your recaps) i'll fall on the sword this time. they can blow me:
i don't care about these people. who COULD care about these people? they are so selfish and delusional that it's impossible to think that they'll ever change. they probably thank their drugs and booze for this vh-1 'opportunity' to keep the 15 minutes alive. honestly brigitte is the only one i think can handle sobriety...and that's a tough sentence to type. she was so absolutely disgustingly portrayed in the past few years that i couldn't imagine ever pulling for her. she's the only one who doesn't seem to be a lost cause. now don't get all up in my cheese because i know addicts...and i've loved addicts...but i don't have the time or energy to entertain addicts. so if these goofballs actually turn down another FREE chance to heal their lives...i have zero sympathy.
life ain't exactly a cakewalk for those of us who have enough discipline to NOT dive into a bottle every time something goes wrong. when you have enough cash to blow on alcohol or drugs instead of paying your mortgage or feeding your kids...cry me a river. i think treadingonme had it right the first time.

Just wanted to say, hoping she reads these comments, that I owe Treadingonme an apology for being so nasty with my responses in regard to the last recap. I enjoy her writings and I was definitely out of line by being such a dick last week. That said, all of them should really go into a sober living place after the show, they're definitely not ready to trust themselves to do the right thing on their own. I won't be surprised if they're all kind of pushed in to going, but staying is another matter altogether. This group is so used to getting their way and being spoiled, I don't know if they have the ability to humble themselves to the degree it will take to survive in sober-living.

as always, entertaining recap, great work!
What a fortunate opportunity, hope they're able to make the most of it. I couldn't even imagine the addicts (of families of) who are no where near being able to afford treatment like this (and seeing it go to waste for some!)
I'll be intrigued who decides to go & not.
Did I read in the comments last week that Jessica is under Dr. Drew's care? Wow, he's dedicated, but good luck to her.

Train wreck!
I cringed when the food started being thrown around and overall trashing the place. Maybe if they were all 18 years old in a frat house...but even that...
Shelly quoted that statistic...1 in 10 addicts will be successful.
So that would compute to 10 in 100.
It looks like they have at least 9 for starters, if you count Daniel Baldwin and Jeff.
Those are grim stats and I can't really put my money on any of them. (Maybe Brigitte).
After seeing Mary's MySpace pictures, I wonder if the Celebrity Rehab show was just her idea of a career booster.
Really sad. They all were offered so much and they seemed like they appreciated it so little.

Chelle:
Not only is she in his care, he went to Florida to basically beg the judge to let her come to California for treatment instead of going to prison. And then when California said no, he went to them to petition for permission. I think he proved that he really wants her to clean up and succeed.
I wish there was a spoiler font in the comment tool because I know something about Seth but don't want to ruin it for anyone.
