Clipgasm: Passive Aggression At Its Finest Edition -
by B-Side
The View, 6/28/06, ABC
When Star Jones announced yesterday that she was leaving The View, we knew trouble was on the horizon. Sure enough, a heated war of words emerged in the press between Star and Barbara Walters, and on today's show, we instantly knew things had gone real sour, real quickly when Star's face was conspicuously absent from the "Now" graphic preceding the episode. Well, just seconds into the show, Barbara Walters announced that Star would no longer be part of the program. The resultant speech was such a lovely example of poised disapproval that we just had to capture it. And for your benefit, we even included a special meter to help measure the levels of passive-aggression on display. Enjoy.

WOW.
Her career is toast.
What did she say that made Babs so aggro?

Barbara was a class act this morning. All that is left for Star to do now is wait for the mother ship to pick her up and bring her back to the Alien Planet she came from...

Uh-oh, someone's not invited to the Christmas Party...
I'm sure Debbie Matenopoulos is giggling like a schoolgirl somewhere...

I heard that Star is joining a new reality show co-starring Brian Dunkleman called "Worst Career Move EVER"

I LOVE the passive-agressive meter! And I love it that this has turned into a getcha- gotcha public feud.

Barbara is pissed! You don't cross her like that. I love the part where she said they tried to get Star to leave with dignity but she took another choice. LOL. BURN! I saw the show this morning. They all seemed happier. Joy was the star of the show.

I love the "need to know" tone it is delivered in. This is as hard hitting as a human rights violation.
Barb has answered Oprah's ripping into million little pieces guy.She commands the same author-itay!

Every time I try to play a clipgasm of The View my browser shuts down. I can't help but feel like my computer has more common sense than millions of women who are home watching TV during the morning. And B-Side.

i really feel that star is an obnoxious, conniving little trick--but you gotta admit that was killer the way she sprung that on 'em the other day with that announcement. way to pull the rug out from under babs!
she did that for everyone who's ever had to leave a job under less than the best circumstances and wanted to give the boss a big F-U on the way out.
meredith and joy were the only ones that made the show bearable, but i have to say i was looking forward to the rosie/star wars in the fall.

"...the rosie/star wars..."
lol babeblue
sadly, they are not meant to be.
(actually I remember hearing Baba Wawa had hired Rosie and thinking WTF? Could have made for some serious on-air pyrotechnics.)

seems to me the elephant in the room is the empty suits at abc that sit around and make decisions. is it really Bahbwa who hand picked Rosie? or some pinched faced white dude in a pin stripped suit? guess it's more fun to see these women go at each other than blame the head of programming. ..if this were serious, you'd have lawsuits flying.
