Dance fever is taking over the country! First The Donald boogeyed down on this week's Apprentice, and then Phil Keoghan got jiggy with it on last night's Amazing Race. Two wonderful men. Two wonderful dancers. We loved them both, but who was the best? To answer this question, we put the two fledgling hoofers side by side and set them loose. Who do you think is the man with all the moves?
First Trump danced. Then Phil Keoghan. And now the robotic mistress of reality TV, Julie Chen. There's so much to say about this clip. I can't tell what part I love the most: Julie's robotic greetings, her loss of equilibrium, her goofy mid-shimmy smile, or her sudden guffaw of excitement followed by the line "It's like a party here!" Yes, it is, Julie. Yes, it is.
In the end, all you need to know is this: Chenbot + bellydancing = wonderful.
Thank goodness for daytime television. Rarely have we seen depicted so subtly and effectively a woman's intimate, secret, erotic desires. For years, directors have tried to penetrate the fortress that is the female psyche, but little did they know that all they needed was a bed and a green screen. Bravo, Days of Our Lives. Bravo.
Those of you who enjoy The Next Food Network Star were in for quite the treat Sunday night when the three remaining finalists had to do a live demo with the mistress of all robotic culinary arts: Miss Julie Chen. Surprisingly enough, the Chenbot was fairly subdued for the first part of this segment, but when plus-sized baker Reggie Southerland waltzed onto the scene, Julie lit up. I'm fairly sure this was the most she's ever used the word "sassy." Nevertheless, by the end of the clip, it's quite apparent which chef the Chenbot wants to go all the way...
Yesterday, I caught this random interview with Marcia Gay Harden and Ellen Burstyn on Oprah. I have to say, it was a lot bawdier than I had expected. Ellen Burstyn played along for a while, but at one point, Marcia Gay Harden definitely crossed the line. I think you'll know what I'm talking about.
Which Paula is crazier? Paula Abdul or Paula from The Real World: Key West? They both were pretty loopy last night. You be the judge.
MTV has done such a good job profiling spoiled girls and gay boys on My Super Sweet Sixteen, it was only a matter of time before they entered the world of beauty pageants. In the series premiere of Tiara Girls, we meet Jamie, a future contestant in the Miss Florida Teen USA contest. As we see over the course of the show, she will do whatever it takes to win that tiara, even if it means co-mingling with a bunch of lesbians...
It takes a lot to make Ashley Parker Angel look like the brightest guy in the room, but never underestimate the powers of Alan Thicke. Let's just say, he might want to bone up on his Spanish a little...
We don't often like to double up our Clipgasms, but this was too good to keep on hold for tomorrow. What is it? Ace Young on Ellen. A performance so bad, it'll have all the neighborhood cats coming to your door. Note how Ellen refuses to clap along or the way the energy in the room seems to die out like a balloon slowly deflating. And check out the nonplussed guy in the front row (not to mention the lovestruck girl a few seats down). Whatever you do, just keep the volume LOW.

I’m not really sure what it was about other than an arrogant guy with a god complex kickboxing while his pregger wife shopped. No? Well don't tel Carl's Jr advertising executives that, as they have oh so cleverly used him in their current campaign for chicken breast sandwiches... you can already see where this brilliance is heading.

I really wanted to post something from last night's Apprentice, but thanks to the awful, awful DirecTV DVR (a.k.a. Satan's DVR. Save your DirecTivos if you have them), I wasn't able to record the episode here at work. However, I should have something up for tomorrow. In the meantime, we can all take solace in knowing that no matter how hard life may seem, at least we'll never have to endure the pain of Chelsi on this week's My Super Sweet 16.

On last week's episode of Prison Break, I couldn't help noticing a long, random montage set to the theme music from House M.D.. Apparently some lazy music coordinator pulled the wrong track from the Fox music library. I would post this bizarre sequence, but due to random technical difficulties, I can't. Nevertheless, it got me thinking. What would happen if TV shows played the theme songs from other TV shows in the middle of an episode? The results are surprisingly entertaining.
We happened to notice an Acuvue commercial the other day starring the one and only feuding twins of 8th and Ocean, Sabrina and Kelly. In honor of Poseidon hitting theaters this weekend, we decided to Poseidon-ize one of our favorite shows. We were bored.
I'm still toiling away at my recaps for Survivor and Amazing Race, but in the meantime, we just had to post this Clipgasm. It's an audience member winning a prize on Live with Regis and Kelly. Her reaction is astounding, but also worth noting is Kelly Ripa who seems to feed off this woman's energy. The more the lady screams, the more Kelly bounces up and down in her chair like a little dog. It's an amazing moment for mankind.

Okay, okay. One more tiny Clipgasm. Sometimes on American Idol, singers hit notes so bad, they just have to be immortalized. Take, for instance, the sound that Kevin Covais, Chris Daughtry, and Ace Young made last night midway through the Burt Bacharach medley. The combination of Ace's falsetto with Chris's moody howling and Kevin's lisping was nothing short of disastrous. And by "disasatrous," I mean wonderful.

So in the meantime I give you my very first Clipgasm, which has the added honor of not being about American Idol at all. Nope, it's an interview on Jimmy Kimmel with Hugh Mcintyre, the fake communications director for the fake Hanso Foundation. Now if you're thinking to yourself "What the heck is he talking about?", it's all part of the summer long Lost interactive webgame, with clues hidden within the show in the form of fake Hanso commercials, fake websites dispensing clues, and now a fake television interview.
The good news is the interview reveals a new website we can all visit that is connected with the game. The bad news is that the whole thing falls flat, with Jimmy Kimmel barely able to play along. Still, it was a neat idea, and once you are done watching this Clipgasm you can go to the bookstore and buy Bad Twin, the fake novel written by one of the victims of Oceanic flight 815. Or maybe even the new Lost action figures that will be unveiled this summer. Now we can all get a chance to strap a firecracker on the Michael action figure and shut him up for good! It's a Lost world people, we just live in it.

When I heard Julie Chen would be on The Late Show with David Letterman last night, I was more than excited. Surely this would be the perfect opportunity for the Chenbot to spread her brand of lovable awkwardness to all the insomniacs across the land. Sadly, her joints had been clearly oiled and lubricated because the rigidity we've come to expect was somewhat lacking. Plus, some bastard must have given her new algorithms because her awkwardness was only registering at minimal levels. I have faith, however, that her previous OS system will surely reject whatever new programs have been installed, and that by tomorrow night, she'll be back to the Chenbot we know and love. Nevertheless, the point of all this was that there wasn't too much to choose from, but how could I let a Julie Chen appearance go unClipgasm-ed? So I took this little interchange, which I thought was amusing. Clearly Letterman did NOT see last season...

After watching Wednesday's Big Brother casting special, we were a bit disappointed that the Chenbot went the entire hour without uttering the phrase "But First" even once. Surely she knows this is her catch phrase. Programmers even installed algorithms that allowed her to laugh about it on The Early Show today. We therefore have come to the conclusion that the Chenbot, for better or worse, may have been malfunctioning. Luckily, we're a pretty tech-savvy group here at TVgasm, and we've managed to restore Julie to her natural glory. Click above to see the fixed Chenbot.
With Big Brother All Stars poised to take over our brains in just over a week, special attention has been given to all our favorite cast members from years past. As a result, nostalgia has been running rampant in the TVgasm offices, which is why we decided to resurrect this loving tribute to Big Brother 5's Jase and Scott. Rumor has it that Jase has seen this video and absolutely hates it, which is all the more reason to embrace it. For us, this montage has a special place in our hearts because at the time (July, 2004), it was our biggest post ever -- our first foray into viral video. The clip brought in so many visitors that we pretty much had to shut the site down and mirror the file on Fleshbot. Of course, that was back in the old days of TVgasm when we weren't equipped to handle more than three people viewing a movie at once. But enough about TVgasm. The entire concept behind America's Got Talent is incredibly dubious, as evidenced by this scene which shows a "Rappin' Granny" gettin' her freestyle on. Her performance is entertaining for a variety of reasons; however, I think the best part of this clip is David Hasselhoff's finger-snappin' hip-hop groove, not to mention his "Go Granny! Go Granny!" chant towards the end. Now that's what I call talent!

When Star Jones announced yesterday that she was leaving The View, we knew trouble was on the horizon. Sure enough, a heated war of words emerged in the press between Star and Barbara Walters, and on today's show, we instantly knew things had gone real sour, real quickly when Star's face was conspicuously absent from the "Now" graphic preceding the episode. Well, just seconds into the show, Barbara Walters announced that Star would no longer be part of the program. The resultant speech was such a lovely example of poised disapproval that we just had to capture it. And for your benefit, we even included a special meter to help measure the levels of passive-aggression on display. Enjoy.
Last week, Kathy Griffin gave us a surprisingly moving and fascinating tour of Iraq on My Life On The D-List. This week, she gave us Talan from Laguna Beach. Minor downgrade. Nevertheless, enjoy the ever astounding idiocy of Talan as he tries to charm Kathy and her star-struck niece.

For whatever reason, there hasn't been much Clipgasm-worthy television in the past 48 hours or so, probably thanks to most of the networks preempting their normal programming because of July 4th. Well, I just spent the past few hours combing through the Tivo to find something halfway decent when suddenly it hit me. Why not check out Passions? Sure enough, seemingly two seconds into the episode, and there already was an outrageous scene involving lightning bolts, talk bubbles, awful dialogue, and, of course, the mermaid. Oh, Passions. Why did I ever doubt you?
America's Got Talent is so awful, and yet we can't stop watching. It's like a treasure chest of Clipgasms. J-Unit wanted the girl who could shoot a bow and arrow with her feet above her head (and get a bulls eye). I wanted the crazy bird-calling lady who thought the judges were idiots for thinking there might actually be birds in the theater. Finally, we compromised on this guy: some doofus who put himself in a balloon and made himself look like Kirby from that videogame. The first balloon popped on his head, the second -- well, he was able to achieve significantly better results in the creepy department. Enjoy.
If you're like us, you're absolutely puzzled as to how or why Chicken George got into the Big Brother house last night. That spot could have gone to someone far more deserving: Cowboy, Ivette, Monica, Bunky. But alas, we're now stuck with this sad middle-aged man. Luckily, we have something to remedy the pain: footage of Chicken George falling off a post over and over and over again. Maybe if you watch his plight enough times, you too will come to accept this casting decision.
There's nothing more glorious than technical difficulties during a newscast, let alone one on a national, Very Serious News Channel. Luckily, a few days ago, the good producers and engineers at The Situation Room provided us with a nifty little glitch which caught Paula Zahn and her stylist unawares. It's short but sweet.

Back in the day (ie. three weeks ago), we used to cover Treasure Hunters, but the general lameness of the show coupled with our dwindling free time meant that we had to prematurely drop the recaps (for now, at least). That's not to say we're not still watching. We've been keeping an eye on this poorly-executed series for any signs of life, and after the past two episodes have been mildly less boring than usual, we might just see if we can squeeze in a recap from time to time. I don't know how many people actually watch the semi-improvised comedy Dog Bites Man, but the show is definitely Comedy Central's funniest offering since Reno 911! and Chappelle's Show first premiered in 2003. The entire premise of the series is that a fictional news team goes out into the field and interviews real people. It's kind of like The Daily Show meets Punk'd. Okay, that makes it sound pretty lame. Just trust us -- the show is awesome. And to prove it to you, here's a clip from the most recent episode.
Before über-producer/writer/director J.J. Abrams struck gold with Alias and Lost and Mission Impossible III, he was just a struggling actor like so many others. And by "struggling actor," I mean someone who yells in an impossibly shrill voice. Imagine my surprise to see him chewing up the scenery in Six Degrees of Separation. I'd hate to think this is what it's like working on Lost.

Despite what the MTV reality show would have us believe, we discovered that there are actually non-white, non-pretty, and non-wealthy people that live IN LAGUNA BEACH! I know, it's shocking. I was watching the awful, awful live finale of Treasure Hunters this week, and I couldn't help but feel like intrepid host Laird Macintosh was trying to out-Chenbot the Chenbot. To prove my point, I have prepared three stunning arguments, all detailed in today's Clipgasm. Beware: SPOILER ALERT if you haven't seen the outcome of this show yet.
What's worse: the image of two walruses having sex or the idea of this anchorman doin' the nasty to Barry White?
As I mentioned in my recap, TV GUIDE Emmy party served as a platform for the world debut of the band known as Band from TV. With the vocals of Bob Guiney (The Scorned) and Bonnie Somerville (Kitchen Confidential) leading the band, a strong support comes in the form of James Denton (Desperate Housewives) on strummin guitar, Hugh Laurie (House M.D.) tappin' the keys, and Greg Grunberg (Heroes) poundin' out the drums. USA TODAY gives a little insight to the band's genesis and charity work and even offers a short, clear clip of the band rehearsing (minus the members of the band that actually make it worth watching). Here's the thing about this gimmicky, schticky band....they are really good. While there's no original music, the covers are classic and the band members enthusiasm for the music is contagious.
I recorded a few short clips on my camera for personal historical documentation, but it's something so few people got to see, I have to share a bit. I appologize in advance for the audio and shakyness, but it was late, room was dark, and I was drunk. Think of it as Blaire Witch music.

In the spirit of giving you reality star updates today, we move onto Erika from Beauty & The Geek. For those of you who don't remember, she's the "life-sized Barbie doll" (give or take a few pounds) who fell in love with dreamy Brad on season one. (Her geek partner, Joe, meanwhile was famous for blushing, freestyling, and being a virgin.) Well, Erika may not have won the grand prize on Ashton Kutcher's show, but that hasn't stopped her from thinking big. She's dropped the geeks and moved onto the jocks by attempting to channel the spirit of the former Mrs. Lachey. Yes, in this clip from My Own, Erika sings her heart out, all in the name of being one man's very own Jessica Simpson. Word to the wise: keep the volume low...

It was inevitable that last night's live episode of Big Brother featuring two live votes, two exit interviews, one HOH competition, one nomination ceremony, one veto competition, and one veto ceremony would hit a snag or two along the way, especially with the Chenbot in charge. Surprisingly, everything seemed to go just fine -- that is, until the 45 minute mark when everything pretty much fell apart thanks to this long, awkward moment which started with a Julie Chen joke and ended with... silence. As a result, we got to watch the puzzled house guests attempt to figure out what was going on until finally CBS abruptly and awkwardly cut to commercial. Classic Big Brother.
A few weeks ago, we showed you a series of monologues by chronically shirtless All My Children star Colin Egglesfield. Well, today, he gave another tour de force that simply had to be shared. We were going to show a Clipgasm from Passions today, and then we were going to show a Clipgasm from Big Brother, but at the last minute, we found our gem: a local news story about a reporter in La Jolla, CA who gets attacked by the subject of his investigation. The brawl is pretty awesome (and bloody too!), but the real thrill is watching the attacker's wife Rosa (said with maximum tongue rolling) unleash her spicy rage at all humans in a five foot radius. I'm not sure if she's protecting her man or merely auditioning for Reno 911!, but either way, it's clear that no one can take down this Señorita Macbeth and her water bottle of fury!
Ladies and gentlemen, we've had the wool pulled over our eyes. There's a dark truth about foie gras, and Tara from Laguna Beach is going to expose it. Be prepared to have everything you've ever known about the luxurious dish destroyed, starting with the pronunciation.
Looking for a Clipgasm? Search no further than Passions. In this death-by-hairdryer scene (or is it???) behold the magical trifecta of shlocky writing ("Now it's time for the shock of your life, Miguel"), questionable acting ("But you KILLED HIM! Oh my God, Fox! You KILLED MIGUEL!!!"), and bargain basement special effects. And let's not forget the subtle current of homoeroticism. The perfect weekend treat!

It was to be the interview of a lifetime. Diane Sawyer was gonna finally get to the bottom of the most pressing question in American pop culture: is Clay AIken gay? Unfortunately, Clay manages to sneak out with nary a confirmation nor a denial, and Diane Sawyer, ever the hardass journalist, lets him off the leash unscathed. And all she really needed to ask was, "Seriously, Clay. What's with the laugh?" Judge for yourself in these highlights from the interview.
We can never resist a clip where someone hurts themselves, especially if said person is dressed like Elvis and falling from the sky at a rapid speed. Luckily, this flying Elvis emerged with only a broken hip. We thoroughly enjoyed this clip, and not just because of the dorky rhyming (you'll see) or the secret twist that saved this guy's life, but mostly because of the transition from this news story to the next...

Yes, it's been played quite a bit today, but damnit if it still isn't hilarious to watch. Arizona Coach Denny Green after his team blew a 20-0 lead and lost to the Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football.
EdHill is still furiously typing away on his Project Runway recap, but in the meantime, we just had to share our reaction to last night's finale, which was one of the few shows that could pry our attention away from playing the Denny Green video for a whole hour. As has been widely reported, a brawl recently broke out on the set of Grey's Anatomy which resulted in Isaiah Washington grabbing the throat of co-star Patrick Dempsey. Yesterday, we regrettably missed Dr. Will's cameo on The Young & The Restless (hey CBS, you might want to have your PR people tell us about these things), but to make up for it, we have another reality star/soap opera cameo. We found none other than Amazing Race victor and Lance Bass anal-deflower-er Reichen Lehmkuhl tending bar during a scene from Days of Our Lives. With his book coming out (no put intended) exactly a week from today, we couldn't help feeling like this was just a lame stop on his publicity tour. Nevertheless, his Very Serious portrayal of a bartender seeking out a missing cell phone was not only gripping and entrancing, but also highly moving. Tears will be shed. Enjoy.
Ever want to watch Deal or No Deal, but can't bear to listen to the inane Howie Mandel patter? Fear not! Telemundo has your remedy! The Spanish-speaking network has its very own version of the hit game show, titled Vas O No Vas, and while the big jackpot only goes up to $250,000 and the set is decidedly shabby (if not sparkly), the glorious middle-school level dancing more than makes up for these detractions. For the past few weeks of Laguna Beach, we've noticed that the girl we once thought would be the star of the whole season has been all but non-existant on the show. That's right, I'm talking about Breanna Conrad, younger sister of Lauren Conrad, and latest member of the Family Conrad to have her life documented on MTV. As far as we can tell, the only time we saw Breanna recently was when she popped up to give Rocky's erstwhile boyfriend Alex a few eye-rolls on last week's episode.
Well, we've had enough of these shenanigans. We decided to drive down to Laguna Beach and find out where the hell Breanna has been hiding. The results may shock you.
The OC returns to Fox tonight, and while Marissa Cooper may have been violently killed off last season, her memory will forever remain, thanks to her countless, clunky iterations of the word "Hey." We never knew one simple syllable could be said so awkwardly in so many different ways, but leave it up to master thespian Mischa Barton to break the boundaries that lesser men simply could not even dare to touch. Bravo, Ms. Barton. Your legacy has touched us all, and to honor your contributions to mankind, we present this compilation of every single "Hey" uttered by Mischa during season three of The OC in chronological order (although, to be fair, we omitted about four or five that were borderline indecipherable). We knew some good would come out of watching the 2006 MTV Europe Awards. On last night's telecast, Kanye West lost out for Best Video to European duo Justice and Simian (oh sorry, did I spoil that for you? I know you were dying to learn the outcome). Anyway, no one puts Baby in the corner, and the same goes for Kanye, who angrily walked out on stage and ranted on about why he should have won this ever so prestigious award. I don't know why I thought this was so funny. Maybe it was the bodybuilder's grunting emulation, maybe it was the gym manager's authoritative interview, or maybe it was the anchor's burnin' hot ZING at the end. Last week, we were invited down to Laguna Beach where we had exclusive access to the Conrad home. Seeing that this appeared to be the first time a TV blog had received such exclusive access into the private worlds of the Laguna folk, we decided to capitalize on this opportunity by confronting the kids with some hard-hitting questions about the show. Unfortunately, we were hung over and wound up asking a series of fluffy, human-interest questions instead. That's okay though. This is the blogosphere, not 60 Minutes. (And don't get us started on the camera work. We employed TVgasm reader IndianJones to help us out. Needless to say, an MIT Business School education clearly does not a cameraman make). This is not a show I would recommend as "must see" tv. In fact, watching it is as pleasant as visiting the dentist without novacaine. I only watch because they regularly feature 'our' TVGASM IDOLS. B-Side and Madeyoulaugh have been guests in the past. Last week our all-time favorite, nicotine addicted, snack hoarding, mj smoking, vodka guzzlin' Flipit made his debut.

Last nights episode of Big Brother 8 was thrilling to say the least. While you can read Schoonies recap here, there was something that came up last night which is worth pointing out. Big Brother has always had a history of house-guest romances but the passionate sexual tension teased last night was something I certainly didn't expect and definitely worth reliving over and over and over again. The way we do that here, is with a good ol' fashion clipgasm.

With Big Brother coming to a messy close, we thought it might be a good idea to remember the good times. You know, when Amber was crying. Tuesday night, ChickBomb and I went over to the IO West in Hollywood to check out Dave and Kim from The Real World Hollywood do improv! Their performances aren't shown much on the show, so we didn't really know what to expect. The form was "The Armando", which is where the hosts take a suggestion and tell stories that the other improvisers make scenes out of. Kim and Dave were Armando, so there were no scenes from them, but some pretty amusing stories. Check it out after the jump! xo

I recorded Living Lohan, bitched and moaned all morning that I had to recap it, finally settled down to chain smoke and inject espresso and mocha into my veins, turned on the computer, and boom. No Living Lohan!! It was a repeat of the first episode. THOSE BASTARDS!!!
As much as I complain, I was really (deep down, waaaaay deep down) looking forward to finding out what happened to Slohan while she yapped into a microphone at the Maloof's recording studio in their Maloof's Palms Hotel and Casino on the Maloof produced reality show. So I came home a couple days ago bitching and moaning that there was nothing on TV. And then I found a little show called Greatest American Dog on my DVR. WTH was that doing there? Had I set it to record and not remembered? Damn you, Mary Jane! That's how I got hooked on House Flippers!
Anyhoo, I turned it on and I don't think I have laughed that hard in a long, long ass time. I am working to find a recapper for it as we speak, but in the meantime, I would be downright selfish of me not to share my joy with you lovely people.
