OD-TV, it was the flier's fault. Although that would be sickly hilarious if they really tried to kill her, that little girl is just a shitty flyer.
I can't believe they put that on tv. I hope the coaches are fired.

Thanks for pointing that out, BethW. Watching it again, it looks as though the girl launched herself in that direction with her legs. Of course, the girls shouldn't have been doing the stunt on CONCRETE in the first place...

i watched this live before going to work the morning it happened. since then, the newscast has switched to filming the band and drill teams performing instead of stunts.

she was okay in the end, though. the today show had her on as a guest in a segment last friday.

I don't understand why their coach let them stunt on concrete like that. Our county athletic director would fire us on the spot if she a. witnessed us letting our girls stunt in the parking lot and b. that our bad decision was then broadcast on national television.

This girl should be lucky she is not in a wheelchair or even worse, DEAD!!! I worked for NCA for 5 years and I can tell u that this is so WRONG! From the unpracticed flyer to the badly timed bases! The whole thing is a scary mess!!!!!

That looked to be a pretty below average experience.

The girl said they "tried" it first on the grass like three times and thought they had it. What morones. The flier while inexperianced was not totally to blame. When attempting a basket toss you need to push straight up, the pushed up and to the back. Oh and the back spotter clearly ducked out of the way instead of helpin catch. The pavement in the parking lot is not much worse than a gym floor.
