GREYS ANATOMY
BY HEREKITTYKITTY

Forget the 3 episode arc... Grey's Anatomy has already upped the ante for next season by introducing the 10 YEAR PLAN!!!!™ Speaking of plans... this episode begins with Meredith talking about well laid plans. Oh Meredith... where was this plan a few weeks ago when you decided to fall into the ocean and forget to swim?!

Upstairs, we see Izzie sneaking out of bed trying not to wake George. She runs into Christina and Meredith in the kitchen downstairs, where Christina complains that Izzie and George were being loud the night before. Busted! Of course, Izzie jumps and instantly acts about as innocent as someone who just slept with a married man. Silly girl, it's only okay to keep the whole house up when it's Meredith and Derek doing it. But it's a false alarm and no one else seems to know anything other than drinking went on. Around this time, George stumbles downstairs, and it is immediately obvious that he remembers nothing.

The Zoloft I get from the nice men in the white suits helps me forget things too.

I'm pretty sure that there are some people (namely the George and Izzie shippers out there) that were very let down at the beginning of this episode. I mean, George was more than clueless to Izzie's looks of disappointment, and his first and only worry was that he hadn't called Callie before he fell asleep. This storyline seems really out of the blue to me. I mean it was less than 2 episodes ago that we were all treated to Izzie admitting that she is still dealing with the death of Denny and now he's forgotten again. Wait, why am I complaining? Upgrade!

Back at the hospital George is trying to wash off the smell of indiscretion when Ms. O'Malley walks in. Through those red eyes he asks her why she is all dressed up and she explains her dad is in town. Evidently Mr. Torres is where Callie got all of her caliente from and she wants George to be on his best behavior. Of course Izzie manages to walk in on this lovely marital discussion and make things more awkward than ever. Izzie acts so weird all the time anyways, Callie doesn't even react much to the stammering and rambling that ensues.

While all the rumblings of another black panty scandal are happening, in another part of the hospital Christina is bringing Burke juju. Burke informs Christina that he has his own juju thank you very much, and he isn't going to let her change things back to the way they were. This is obviously why their relationship works so well, they communicate by coffee. Maybe that's what actually sparked Isaiah Washington's little incident with T.R. Knight, some misread coffee signals.

The other residents are all stalking the Chief, who informs them that Marlow has a 10 YEAR PLAN!!!!™ for the hospital and they should do the same. They all seem a bit annoyed by this news, as I'm sure it will prevent them from the required surgical montage in every episode. I mean, if they are busy making a 10 YEAR PLAN!!!!™ when will there be time for operation montages?

This week wouldn't be complete without everyone's favorite broken faced pregnant woman, and the only patient that has managed to stay in Seattle Grace for more than two weeks. I guess that they can't really send her home as she can't remember who she is yet. Anyway, we are treated to a scene that includes practically every doctor in the hospital. It felt about 3 minutes away from an orgy. Broken faced pregnant woman is about to have surgery so they can turn her into just pregnant woman. Not surprisingly, she has trouble picking her face out of some of the ugliest computer pictures I have ever seen and again turns to Alex for help. I mean really, I've seen nicer pictures when they recreate Neantherdals faces on the Discovery Channel. Alex is really proving himself to be a good guy with this storyline. He rescued her, he comes to the hospital after hours to talk to her, and now he's explaining the big scary surgery to her.

considering i am the first and probably only commenter on this average recap, i won't feel so bad expressing my opinion.

i think we need a better/funnier/ruder/hotter recapper for this show. call me! if i missed the episode, this would have caught me up, however i don't think i smiled once while reading this recap. That excludes the smile i have on my face right now.

I thought the recap was pretty good, actually. I am not too hard to please.

Suzie Author Profile Page:

that's what HE said!

TinkerbellAPixie:

Actually - I was the first commenter on this recap when it went up in the forums. I couldn't wait to get my eyes on it than and I really wasn't disappointed.

You could tell that the writer really enjoys this show and that comes through in her writing. I sometimes grow weary of recaps where all the writers do is countdown the days until they show is canceled. I don't understand why anyone would spend so many hours writing and theorizing about a show they clearly do not enjoy.

I found this recap to be a nice mix between humor, snark and a retelling of the events. And - I think it's great to have Grey's being recapped again. :)

You need more pictures. Sorry - I didn't really bother reading.

sweetjane Author Profile Page:

not the best recap i've read on this site. and one correction- the phase is "game, set, match" to mcsteamy. not point match game (or whatever you said).

Madelyne:

I enjoyed the recap and laughed out loud at the
"Upgrade!" picture comparison between Izzie and Meredith. Classic.

I thought it was funny and it was nice to read someone who enjoys the show. However, please cut Meredith some slack...she's no more self-obsessed then the rest of them are currently and at least she's trying to be positive.

Also, it the race for Chief of Surgery, not Chief Resident. Bailey is a resident...McSteamy, Addison, Burke and McDreamy are Attending (Area Directors of their specialties).

ponsoldt:

The screen caps were funny, but they were definitely the only highlights of the recap for me.

On another note, Shonda has lost it, putting George and Izzie together. I am giving this show until the end of the season and then I'm out if it doesn't get better.

Cyles:

I agree with Suzie, I'm sorry, it really was incredibly boring, and the screen caps weren't funny.

Good try though!

zoobabe:

the line that #6 commenter quoted was a great one! Yes- you need more screencaps, but that will come in time if you get the job. I think you did a fine job Kitty. Keep your chin up!

tvaholic:

I think this was a good effort for a first timer, no complaints here. I agreed with the comments about the computer-generated pictures for broken-face lady, were they trying to depress her even more? Although I didn't really see Izzie's conversation with Addison as one of Shonda's wacky scenes, it seemed like a cop-out to me, an easy way to have one adulterer give advice to another, it was awkward to watch IMO. I did like George's scene in the closet (no pun intended), not many actors can pull off so much wihout saying a word.

takingbacksunday:

You know.. when bside left I thought I'd stop coming on here just because there is no comparison.. but what pisses me off even more are all the readers criticizing the new writers. You should be happy that someone is recapping at all. If you don't like it simply go somewhere else, there are like a billion recapping sites now. I'm not trying to start a fight with anyone, but really is it necessary?
It really sets a negative mood on here; it used to be everyone leaving funny playful stuff that I loved reading. Anyway.. I drank way too much caffeine tonight and now I'm rambling so I'll shut up and go watch Conan.

HereKittyKitty:

I originally had more screencaps, but when I posted it in the forums I had to cut the number of pictures down to four. I agree, it is more fun to read with pictures. I would love some constructive criticism, and I'm not holding out for universal popularity.

TinkerbellAPixie:

Kitty,

It's not all about the photos it's about the writing -and you wrote a very funny recap which will help fill a void around here. :)

Anybody recapping this confusing show for the first time deserves a break. Good going, Kitty.

Dizzie's feelings are changing a bit fast as Rhimes attempts to flesh out her character. So far she's succeeded in appearing to be clueless as far as her feelings and beliefs go. I remember in one of the early eps when she ripped off her clothes to show her body but make sure they knew she was a REAL Doctor-to-be, so they'd better get their fill. Then she proceeded to go from Izzie to Dizzie. So far she's nailed Alex and George and would have done Denny in a heartbeat if he could have lived through it. Hm. Considering she ended up killing him anyway, maybe she could have chosen the more pleasurable way to do it.

I thank God this is not a real hospital. I wouldn't want any of these fools to come near me, not even with a warm stethoscope. Please stop abusing Meredith. She's surrounded by completely self-absorbed, preening narcissists that make her look like Mother Teresa by comparison.

The stone woman was a weird addition. Made me feel they were just filling in time to make this a one-hour episode.

Shay:

I have to agree... As far as humor, this recap fell pretty flat. Some of the old ones had me laughing my butt off, but this one? Like someone else said, I didn't crack a smile. The picture captions were pretty good, but the rest was blah.

Shay:

I have to agree... As far as humor, this recap fell pretty flat. Some of the old ones had me laughing my butt off, but this one? Not so much. I do understand that it's the first time writing for this show, so I'm sure things will perk up. :)

The picture captions were pretty good, but the rest was kind of blah. As far as what happened on the show, though, it did a good job.

Shay:

Apologies for the double post, stupid internet.

It's better than I could have done, and I'm awesome.

haha that was hilarious.

Cam:

If you ask me... I think "Suzie" sounds like a bitch...

angela:

I laughed out loud while reading your recap 5 times (4 at comments within the recap, once at the "Upgrade" caption.) You did a good job recapping this episode & I'm sure you'll only inprove with time. Alot of your observations felt like something my friends and I would say out loud while watching Grey's together.

Cam:

I agree. Your recap was pretty good... don't listen to the haters. That "Suzie" chick just needs to get laid. Lighten up bitch.....

jim:

no...this recap wasn't that funny AND i thought it was pretty insensitive to make fun of the diseases the patients had. "statue" woman prob. had spinabiphida (sp?) which is rare but not crazy rare, i have a friend who's mom has it and her muscles slowly turn into bone basically. Also the diabetic foot amputation is pretty run of the mill for older diabetics who don't take care of themselves like they're supposed to. Those are my big objections--and that's my 2 cents.

janis:

THIS WAS THE WORST RECAP EVER
arent these supposed to be funny?
and not enough pics.
plz find someone new

nurseratched Author Profile Page:

there were a few funny lines that cracked me up, but not enough pics and something else was just missing, but i don't know what it is.

recap was promising, it just didn't have me at hello.

nurseratched Author Profile Page:

oh, also. a little beef with the zoloft comment...

...first of all, seems a little too borrowed from m_ruv...

second of all...zoloft is just a common anti-depressant. tons of people take it. perhaps the joke would be more suiting if you referred to something like an anti-psychotic. she's got more complex issues than depression.

now i know i may be a little picky because i have a knowledge base about medications, but the joke was way lame.

nurseratched Author Profile Page:

jim,
it wasn't spina bifida...it's was some other disease with an abbreviation. i don't remember what.

and the recapper didn't make fun of the diabetic patient. he made fun of christina's lack of bedside-manner. although later in the episode christina wasn't very excited about the surgery because it was a very sad situation.

TinkerbellAPixie:

I understand people not thinking the recap was to their taste - I don't understand the need to be so unkind about it. Writing these things is a lot of work and takes a lot of time.

Sandi:

Trying to verbally recap these episodes with fellow GA fans is difficult, I can't imagine putting it down in words. I had a few chuckle out loud moments. I don't think I could do much better at least on a first try. m_ruv had me practically peeing my pants every week but that was his job: making people laugh with his witty writing. I don't think it is inappropriate to borrow jokes from m_ruv either...he had a lot of good ones and I'm sure he wouldn't mind his legacy continuing in some small way with this recap. =) Plus, even m_ruv didn't please the masses--people were always down on him for being too negative about GA.

By the way....anyone think there should be more pictures?

You guys are wah-babies....
