Sloan and Torres are busy in the OR taking care of the guy who got hit by his wife. Things are moving along swimmingly, so they begin to discuss Sloan's "secret" relationship with Lexie. Apparently they are unaware of the 9 odd people in the OR with them. Torres is happy that Sloan is ready to hop back in the sack now that his pogo stick has its bounce back. Sloan sadly tells her that he has to break up with Lexie. The conversation is interrupted as Grey joins them in the ER. As she enters, the man ruptures something and begins to crash. (She has that affect on me too). A nurse calls Lexie who is with plastic face in a room. Plastic face freaks when she gets wind of her husband's surgical complications. Lexie lies quickly, and effectively for once, and calms plastic face down. As her blood pressure finally goes down Lexie begins to relax until plastic face suddenly begins to seize. Even healthy people die in this hospital.
Elsewhere in the hospital, Bailey gets the page she has been dreading since meeting her new child patient. She begins to rush to the room but is having trouble even getting her feet to move. Bailey will not be able to emotionally handle another child ordeal, even with the positive results Jackson finally had. The little girl is experiencing major complications and Bailey has to give her a painful shot in the chest. Kids like this seriously deserve medals. (Real life sick kids, I'm not referring to child actors).
Dixon, Bailey and Arizona (yay I was beginning to miss her!) discuss the little girl outside. She needs to go into surgery and Bailey tells Arizona that she'll have to do it. Bailey can't scrub in on another child that she might lose. Arizona comforts Bailey and says that even the really sick kids usually make it because they are resilient and because audiences really don't enjoy watching children die, it's too sad. (For example of this fact see My Girl....saddest movie ever). Arizona encourages Bailey to step in and save the little girl because she'll want to be the one who hands her back her future. And in other news, Arizona reaffirms her position as my favorite character on the show.
The man hit by a car is doing much better, and the doctors are finishing up his surgery. As they are finishing, Little Grey runs in for Big Grey and tells her about Plastic face's seizure. The two leave receiving one lingering gaze from Sloan. Torres tells him he's an idiot for giving up on something that is making him happy. She warns him that if he isn't careful he'll end up alone and celibate like her. Um, I don't think being single for a month or two counts as celibate. That is a dry spell. If you have the opportunity for sex, that you turn down because you are choosing to not have sex, that is celibate. This sexual awareness fact was sponsored by Trojan-for when you aren't celibate.
In the clinic, Izzie taking full advantage of the fact that she owns the joint is having Sadie perform ex-rays on her.

Derek goes in to check up on Plastic Face and while he is examining her she notices something falling out of his pocket. When she asks about it, he quickly banishes Meredith from the room leaving him, Plastic Face and Lexie. He asks them if they can keep a secret and tells them about the upcoming proposal. What secret? The entire hospital now officially knows you are about to propose Derek. I'm sure the prego lady who just seized is really concerned about your upcoming proposal to fellow botox pioneer. But she seems really excited and shares how her husband proposed to her at the grocery store next to cat food and tampons, and she thought it was romantic. She also hit him with a car...just sayin. Derek leaves to go run some checks on her noggin to make sure everything is ok and they agree that neither has anything to be scared of for the future.
Dixon, Yang and Bailey have the little girl in the OR with her chest opened. Dr. Dixon gravely says that this is the most diseased heart she's ever seen and that a heart lung transplant is necessary or this child will die. Bailey, who is over this dejavu peaces the F out, leaving Yang and Dixon to close the little girl up.

Ok, so not to be the first to comment on my own blog, but I just read that NY Post is reporting that after this season TR and Katherine are officially out.
Not that it's a huge shock, but it is kind of big. I wonder how they'll get rid of them? Do you think they'll kill Izzie off? And for George maybe he'll just slowly sink more and more into the background.

Hey TWSS...love your recaps, they are LOL funny! Just to clarify though, Yang didn't tell Deth that Derek was going to propose. It only seemed like it she was actually referring to Deth's mom's journal, apparently the Chief was going to propose. My friends and I were like "Bitch...WHAT?" and then realized that she didn't tell her.
And thank goodness for Addison's phone call, all those roses and stuffed bears would make me say no to a proposal from McD, great hair genes be damned. Deth is all dark and twisty, a romantic and cheesy proposal is not her style.
PS: Honestly, not surprised at the Heigel/Knight news. Bye George...loved ya but they were screwing you over this season. Izzie don't let the door hit your ass on the way out.

Heigl/Izzie be gone! But I will miss Bambi.
Oh, and yes, the "victorian novel" crap (that's what they were trying to pull with the slo-mo piano snooz-o) was absolutely annoying and out of place.

Ok, I have to admit, I loved the piano music sections. It probably helps that that is my favorite storyline right now - two people with depth that aren't self-centered - amazing!
I like that they're playing it like a slow, flirtatious romance, instead of "oops, we hooked up in the on call room, now what?".
Sorry the music rubbed you the wrong way, because those two are a really interesting couple!

I agree with hejohnsonvc. I kind of liked the piano music parts and they are my favorite couple right now. I kind of think they were playing off the way meridith's boss and mom were...Yang mentions how they didn't have sex right away...they just stole glances at each other and flirted. But during the second scene w/ the piano music and the Major freaks out because he sees a woman, I was like uh, you've already had that storyline w/ Derek and Addison. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
I also thought that Sadie mixed up the results! I guess no.
I wasn't shocked to see they paired Arizona up with Torres. The minute she entered the bar I was like oh she's going to be Torres' new love interest. I like Arizona and hopefully she'll stick around.
Sadie is leaving the show too, I believe.

I thought the exact same thing when ABC said "for the first time ever..." I was like...wait, that's how this whole mess STARTED.
Also, just interesting note, Arizona played a lesbian on The L Word in...I think season 2 or 3

I predict that the blonde woman who the Major freaked out over is the wife or girlfriend of one of his buddies who was killed in that ambush that he is all messed up about. (In Iraq or Afghanistan? I forget.) He doesn't want to face her because he thinks that he should be dead instead of (or along with) his comrades.
Bailey's son is named George? I thought he was called "Tuck" or something like that. George Bailey--that's the guy in It's a Wonderful Life.
If Lexie and Sloan end up a couple, at least we'll never have to see them hook up again. I don't think Derek and Meredith every have sex anymore.

TWSS, great recap, except for missing that Yang didn't really tell Mer Derek was going to propose.
By the way, I must say, shame on you for dissing Jennifer Westfeldt as "plastic face". Fell in love with her in "Kissing Jessica Stein" and was glad to see her working. I still think she's gorgeous. If she's had some work done, it was good work.
Wonder how they're going to get rid of Izzie? I hope they do something really funny to kill her off, and not sentimental . . . like when on "E.R." they had a helicopter fall out of the sky and land on Dr. Romano. That would be hilarious. Or maybe she walks past a Denny's and the sign falls on her . . LOL.

You guys are 100% right about Yang not telling Meredith. My bad! I watched it again, and actually Mer's reaction was kind of cute....almost endearing.
I'm glad that other people liked the Yang/Major music scene. I really do think it was the music that threw me. I usually think that GA rocks when it comes to music choices, and the music choice alone will bring tears to my eyes in certain scenes. This music just grated on me a bit. If they had some sentimental indie pop song in the back, I probably would have loved it. I do like that relationship a lot though, and love that they are taking their time to develop it, and not just throwing them in the on call room to do it.
"Or maybe she walks past a Denny's and the sign falls on her . ."
LOL!! That is the funniest thing I've ever read. I would laugh for a good 10 minutes.

You crack me up every week, so I'm glad I could return the favor.

I'd heard that Katherine & TR are leaving. Can't say I'm overly surprised or sad about either departure.
Maybe it's because I'm a huge nerd and love Austen (and all things related to Austen-type things), but I really liked the background music. I thought it set the mood for the "Victorian-era love story" angle they're working. I personally LOVE the fact that Yang and Hunt aren't hopping into the sack immediately and falling in love later. He's got too many issues that he needs to work on before he can truly love someone else. I certainly hope the blonde that showed up isn't a significant other, but knowing GA, it probably is.
The minute that Arizona followed Callie into the bathroom, I knew she was going to kiss her. I still don't buy Callie suddenly switching teams, but I think this one was handled WAY better than the fake chemistry between Sadie and Callie (I'm sorry, those scenes were just PAINFUL to watch).
Can't say I'm too excited about the crossover, despite the fact that I like Private Practice. The last time they did a crossover (when Addison came back for an episode), it was a let down. I don't expect much more this time around.

Hahahaha! That comment about a Denny's sign falling on Izzy was the funniest thing ever! You are awesome, JasonR.
Also, great recap TWSS!

Another great recap (with an assist to JasonR - Denny's, LOL).
I liked the piano scenes, too. I prefer that slow build up of tension to the jump into bed and exchange names later approach to romance.
Man! I wish I'd read your recap before sitting through the Private Practice. Nothing in that episode made me change my mind about not watching.

Countdown to George, Izzie, and Sadie's departures. Yay!!!

"Sadie brings Izzie her test results from the day and it turns out she is fine. However, the woman they were also treating has cancer and the outlook is not good. I'm wondering if Brain Child Sadie accidentally confused the charts. Normally I wouldn't entertain this thought, but at this hospital anything is possible, so you never know."
Yes. Looks like you nailed it a week early. Sadie prob mixed up Izzie's chart since she's completely incompetent as a doctor.
I saw Arizona coming on to Torres as soon as she walked into the bar. Apparently, Seattle Grace loves to recruit lesbian doctors. Who knew there were so many??
I guess I'm the only one who doesn't like the Major (and that crease between his eyebrows) or his budding rship with Cristina. No slow piano music is gonna convince me they are hot together. I still miss Burke :(
JasonR, I liked Jennifer in Kissing Jessica Stein too! But she did look kinda...off in GA. Too botoxed. It's ironic that actresses (cough*Ellen Pompeo*cough) get botoxed to look good but end up becoming worse actresses because we can't read the emotion on their faces. Oh Hollyweird.
