Uterus² girl, meanwhile, starts hyperventilating. (Seriously, it's hard to get through a day on Grey's Anatomy without some good hyperventilation.) She's freaking out about her fiancé's departure and is overacting mightily. At this point I realize she looks suspiciously like Ruthie from Real World: Hawaii. Cheers!
At lunch, Sister-Shepherd gives Shepherd a hard time about Meredith. He gets defensive, saying Meredith is wonderful and smart and, best of all, has curves like a racetrack. Sister-Shepherd exhorts him to forgive Sloan: the man is just a cad, and practically every woman she knows has slept with him, UP TO AND INCLUDING BARBARA MIKULSKI.
Meredith asks Cristina if she's mad at her or something, since she's been such a clammed-up bitch recently. Cristina says she has bigger things in her life right now and storms off yet again. At this point, Bailey walks by the surgical board and sees that her name has been erased. Of course she thinks that Burke did it because of doubts about her judgment post-Denny. This hits her very hard.
Doublemint uterus girl's fiancé approaches George, who informs him that they're about to deliver one of her babies by C-section. Of course the first thing the guy asks is whether the baby being deilvered is his legitimate child or his fiancée's ILLEGITIMATE BASTARD CHILD. George rolls his eyes and exhorts the guy to be ham. Not eggs! This ham/eggs thing really is retarded. Dr. Seuss covered it fifty years ago. It's done.
Dr. Sloan catches Alex doing research on uterus.com, prompting all sorts of mockery about how Alex claims to want a career in plastic surgery but instead is an OB-GYN at heart. Alex says he's sick of doing menial tasks for Sloan, but Sloan basically admits that Alex needs to kiss up if he wants any career favors. Boooooo Sloan!
At this point, some poor nurse delivers what must be the worst-delivered line ever in this series, telling some other nurse named Tyler that "Addison Montgomery needs two units of B-postive blood in L&D. Stat!" I wish I had a video clip, but if you still have this episode on TiVo, go back and savor it. Great screenwriting and great delivery are a powerful combination indeed.
Meredith assures bar-exam-burn-girl that she won't need skin grafts and can thus take her exam. The young woman asks how severe the burns would need to be in order to qualify for skin grafts. Meredith finally notices that this girl is probably, like, PRESIDENT OF HER LOCAL SELF-MUTILATION CLUB, and asks some more probing questions about how the girl burned herself in the first place. Finally unable to resist, Izzie butts in and asks point-blank whether the girl burned her hand on purpose. She says it's okay if she did—after all, all of us get JUST A LITTLE CRAZY from time to time—and the girl finally fesses up. She just can't face the prospect of failing the exam for a fifth time.
We then move to the inevitable scene in which two dramatic surgeries are going on at the same time and we cut back and forth between them. Dr. Montgomery commands George to keep the baby in one uterus perfectly steady, because any motion while she's removing the other baby could tear the uterine wall. We see that Alex has ditched Sloan and scrubbed in on the C-section, since he's evidently dying to get his hands all up in some double-barreled uterus.
In the other O.R., Dr. Burke and Cristina have Humpty-Dumpty's heart out of his chest. The procedure goes well: Cristina clearly has done her homework, as she's performing magnificently and basically running the whole surgery herself. Burke is impressed but does look a little annoyed also, since his ego is bigger than Dennis Hastert's waistline these days.
Back in Dr. Montgomery's O.R., George's baby starts moving around, and he can't keep it still. Clearly wishing to calm the situation, Sister-Shepherd (who as an OB-GYN herself is watching the surgeryl) starts SHRIEKING about how OH MY GOD GEORGE IS SENDING THE BABY INTO DISTRESS. The situation threatens to turn into a crisis until Alex runs over and starts playing sports announcer and recounting in his best radio voice the story of George Foreman and Muhammad Ali's "Rumble in the Jungle" fight from 1974. So hetero. Anyway, Alex's voice calms the baby (just like he read in his article!), and the baby stops moving, enabling Dr. Montgomery to continue with the C-section.

Do you even like Grey's Anatomy? You seem to hate every aspect and every character on the show.
Just wondering : )

I can't believe you just made me look up tumescent. And such excellent multi-uteri creativity. But poor m-ruv, definitely one of the more bitter entries. (Maybe you were hungover while recapping, or just had a bad headache?) Anyway, to answer xojenxo, I think he still gots some love for Montgomery, Callie and Cristina in her ballsy moments. PS: I can't WAIT to hear what you have to say about the camping trip vis a vis real life events (and by this I mean tabloid stories.)

I'm with xojenxo. You really seem to hate this show. Any chance we can get someone to recap it who isn't a hater?

Not to sound too harsh or anything BUT... I agree 100%... I truly believe that you don't even like this show, which might explain why this entry came 8 days after this episode aired. This is the only show that I don't look forward to the recap for...

Oh, come on! Who cares is M_ruv likes the show or not? He/she is an excellent writer, and I laugh everytime I read the recaps. We all know it's a ridiculous show anyway. Why take it so seriously?
M_Ruv, I hope writing is a profession you're considering....

FOOLIOS. I can apologize for the lateness only so many times. TVgasm writing is a volunteer enterprise, and given that I also have a full-time job, do freelance work on the side, am in the middle of researching grad school, and have both my parents and several friends currently visiting town, I'm sure you understand. The next recap, though, should be up by Monday.
Incidentally, I do greatly enjoy the show. For gushing, completely uncritical recaps, I'd suggest http://www.greyswriters.com.

I liked your recap - funny as always. :) It was fun to see Miss Honey (from the movie Matilda) as Sister Shepard.

M_ruv, if you're too busy to recap, maybe you should hand the duties off to someone else. Preferably someone who doesn't capitalize unnecessary things every paragraph.

m_ruv, great recap!
I had never watched this show until about 6 weeks ago. I decided to see what all the damn fuss was about. It's an OK show....but I see it's quickly taking the "Lost" and "Desperate Housewives" route by becoming ridiculous instead of entertaining.
Meredith "getting lost in selfabsorbtionland"....LOVE IT!!
Also, I am soooo sick of the "Mc" this, and "Mc" that...that thing ran it's course loooooong ago!
Thanks for the recaps though! I like 'em!

"George, meanwhile, tries to talk to Callie again by way of the failsafe ham/chicken anecdote." Awesome.
I, too, thought the uterusX2 chick looked like Ruthie from 'Real World: Hawaii', perhaps crossed with Michelle Kwan. Don't know why people are complaining about this recap, because a lot of what was stated was EXACTLY what was going through my mind at the time. Cynicism and sarcasm is the lifeblood of tvgasm. And m_ruv is right: although I love GA, the storyline themes are getting repetitive, and sometimes, unrealistic. But I'll still continue to watch.

I don't know what some of you guys are smoking, but m_ruv is the BEST and I would hate it if anyone else was recapping this show. Who cares if he doesn't like everyone (cause God knows some of these characters are VERY annoying) and who cares if the recap is a few days late? It is soooooo worth waiting for.
I agree this was not the best recap he has ever done, but maybe the source material was not as great. After all, to go from the previous week's story about a penis piercing stuck to an IUD to this week's story about ham and eggs - the jokes are a little harder to come by.
Keep up the great work, m_ruv! If I met you in a bar in Seattle, I'd get drunk on tequila and take you home!

first of all, can we all recognize that m_ruv has amazing recaps? i crack up every time. and can we please comment now on the episode at hand and not about how timely the posts are? OK. and honestly, i know we suspend our disbelief for this show, but how come NOBODY regonizes that burke, the a-hole egomaniac is not letting anyone watch his amazing post injury comeback? and why is bailey all tough and bossy with izzie, but not supervising cristina whatsoever? doesn't she decide what the interns do everyday? seriously. and by the way, i checked out the grey's writers blog, and it made me want to stop watching the show. you're not writing the declaration of independence people.

ha, wow. some of you people are total jackasses. its not like these writers get paid anything for their efforts at amusing us.
the recap was hilarious, and i fully agree on the formula you listed at the end. the show has become exactly that, which obviously doesnt venture into any creative territory and for anyone to not realize the show may begin its slide into a staid existence, well thats sad.
i also appreciate the random capitalizations for emphasis...HILARIOUS.
everyone else can suck it, or go read some "hilarious" posts by tabloid baby.

Ok.. everyone is taking this way out of hand.
I don't care about the timeliness of the recaps. I understand that everyone is busy and they get posted when there is time.
I merely was asking if m_ruv enjoyed Grey's Anatomy because of his criticism of the show and the characters, it does not come through.
Also, the formula of the show seems to be working since it is consistently one of the top shows every week.
Also, greywriters.com is a recap from the writers of the show (duh). They are just explaining why they took the show in that direction. Not the same purpose of the Tvgasm recaps.

First of all, all of you bitching at m_ruv, cut it out. You don't like the recap, don't read it. It's a quality product at a price you can't beat. His/her points of view are to be respected. If you don't agree, then write your own recap. This person is taking a significant amount of time to watch the show (repeatedly) in order to get all the details, then writing a fairly long review/cap. And you couch potatoes have the nerve to criticize and tell m_ruv to go somewhere else if he/she (this is really annoying, m_ruv, what gender are you?) can't write a recap YOU will like! With all due respect, there are other sites, perhaps you'd like to visit them?
GA is tending to run a theme into the ground. They shoehorned the pig/chicken analogy into so many things they reached the point of saturation. And I think the Izzie thing needs to move on or give her a sabbatical to return with all her screws tightened.
The McSister thing was heavy-handed, with her giving her Waspy approval of McSteamy's doings. And, for the record, Addison is a slut that has no right to ask for Derek back. In fact, she should just step off his life. He. of course, is a wimp that can't make a rational decision as pertains to his love live.
If there's one thing I hate about the Pomp (aside from her annoying tired voice) is her curly upper lip. Makes her look like she has a permanent sneer.
I understand why Christina is doing what she's doing, but I hate the way they have weakened the Nazi's character to where she is suffering the abuse from Burke and Christina. The original Bailey would have bitch-slapped the anorexic Asian back into last week after her shenanigans.
Just watched the following show and I won't comment on it so as not to spoil before the recap and it does get better.
Keep up tyhe good work, m_ruv!

m_ruv, I'm a big fan, as always. I barely have time to read the recaps, so I don't know how you guys find the time to write them.
One thing that bears mentioning is that once Shepard told his sister that the Addison-Sloan thing was not just a one-time thing but an extended affair, she became much more sympathetic to him and understanding of his decision to end his marriage. I thought it was a pretty decent depiction of the love-hate thing most of us have with our siblings.
I like the show but I do share some concerns many of you have expressed. Makes me think back to "Ally McBeal". Although I was never a regular viewer, I do know the show started out very original but quickly fell into formula and quirkiness for its own sake. Let's hope that doesn't happen to this show.

"Not the same purpose of the Tvgasm recaps."
The purpose of tvgasm recaps is to write sunny, smoke up the ass of the writers, non sarcastic pieces?
Great recap M-ruv!I'm kind of bummed that izzy is getting so shrill and annoying. she was my fav last season.

Anyway I thought it was a sweet recap. And I can't wait to see Addison and Alex hook up this season!
