That still leaves us with the other unsolved marriage. At one point during the episode, Christina believed that Burke was not scheduling her for cool surgeries because she had not told him yes or no, but she realized that if there was any anxiety in this decision, she was the source. As I've said before, Christina is becoming a little more human every week, but that doesn't mean she doesn't want to be the absolute best surgeon possible. She says that he shouldn't expect her to change, but she is going to say yes. Burke looked relieved but after a few minutes, the two of them simply began to giggle, as if all of the shit that they have gone through doesn't matter any more. Well, either that or they had just seen that online video where that kid farts the alphabet.

But as we know, it can't all be good news. First of all, Addison had a moment of weakness and got back together with Sloan. And by "get back together" I mean they got naked and had sex in his hotel room. I guess you could call it good news for them, but since I can't stand him, I'll say it was bad news. Maybe if he did something about that stupid Q-Tip head of his, I could learn to live with this, but not a moment sooner.

The real sad news came with Ellis grey. We knew it was impossible for her to stay lucid. She had a remarkable day for somebody who had lost five years and barely had control of her life. When Webber was talking to Meredith, he said he didn't visit her mom because there was nothing that he could say to make her feel better. In the end, he said what she wanted to hear, that they would have had a beautiful life together and she would have been happy. Meredith came in a few minutes later. She realized that the fights might be over, but that she may never get her mother back ever again.

What did you think of this episode?

I have to say, color me impressed with The Pomp's big speech to Mama Ellis. She may be thin lipped and botoxed, but that was some nice acting.
All in all, good episode and great recap!

ok....
christina can assist in cardiothoracic surgery and spout off all kinds of pathology and treatment modalities, but needs an alzheimers patient to tell her that she's in supraventricular tachycardia and needs a carotid massage....
sorry. nurse's rant.

as much as I liked Mer's big "yelling" scene for the acting, it rubbed me the wrong way. I don't care if her mom was a bitch to her or not- she only had a finite amount of time with her and she shouldn't have burdened her w/ the guilt that she did. My fave parts of this episode were Ellis throwing the smack down on Dereck, and Addison lusting after Alex. I'd take the "help" in this case too!
Great recap J!

Great recap! I saw a pick of the pomp in a purple dress she looked so big if the dress was pink she would have reminded me of porky pig

OOH. I thought the scene when Meredith goes off at Ellis was great. Great writing, great acting. I was shocked. I mean, no offense to The Pomp, we love her and all, but I always thought she was no great shakes actingwise, so it was sort of a surprise.
AND OMG CALLIE'S FULL NAME IS CALLIOPE IPHIGENIA. Iphigenia was this woman in Greek mythology whose father famously sacrificed her, so does that mean Dr Torres is gonna get offed? OOH THIS IS LIKE LOST

When did Grey's Anatomy become ER circa 1997?

I too was amazed when the Pomp pulled off a nice, emotional scene! (And this despite the fact that her forehead was immobile.) I didn't catch all of Cristina's "yes" speech at the end, but I'm pretty sure she said she didn't do wifey stuff, so they could just hire a wife, which cracked me up.

Oh, man. When Dr. Webber was telling Dr. Grey about how she would have been happy, I cried my eyes out. I felt pathetic, but it was a really touching scene.
