Ahh, you know what I am going to say by now. The narrator can go fuck himself in the goatass. Why have they decided to make it more annoying? People know what the show is about! You don't need to explain it to them when they can watch all of the episodes online! UGH!
Last week, the big news was hat we found out who Claire's daddy was. Claire's back story is interesting, but right now it seems just as extraneous as when Hiro met his father. It was an interesting twist and everything, but I still want some more answers about some other parts of the show. I feel like all of this could have waited until the second or third season, but maybe I am just hating on Nathan because I think he is a smarmy douchebag. This guy has more skeletons in his closet than Elton John if he became an archaeologist. How in the hell is he supposed to run for office?
As we learned a little bit more about the back story, I had to back off on my "Nathan is the biggest asshole in the world" stance. He didn't know that Claire was alive, which is believable since Meredith didn't know that Claire was alive. Nathan also didn't know that Meredith was alive, and even went to her funeral. If she already had a funeral and then spent the time right afterwards tooling around in Mexico, I can only think that means one thing: fake death. Then again, I am a crazy conspiracy nut. But in my favor, she did say that somebody was out to get her. At first I thought it was Sylar's uncle, but then I thought it had to be either Linderman, who obviously likes taking people out (more on that later).
I always thought that Claire's mom was sweet, but I guess I fell for the whole "I'm just happy our daughter is alive" act. I genuinely think that Meredith is happy to have met Claire, but the only reason she got in touch with Nathan was to blackmail him! OK, so I am not sure if that is the only reason, because it was Nathan that brought up the hush money first, but she sure as hell did take it. $100,000 to be exact. And you know Claire isn't going to be happy when she hears this.
One of the best parts about this episode is that we got another hero vs. hero battle, and it didn't involve Sylar. Jessica is free, but with Micah at school and DL at work, she needs to find something to do to make money. Nikki would take off her clothes, but Jessica is so over that. Instead, she receives a package with a picture of the guy who helped her get out of jail a little while ago. Oh, and there is also a gun. Poor Micah, he was hoping that his family would be the types that fight crime together. Instead, it turns out his mother is going to be an assassin. Not that there aren't good assassins out there, as Jean Reno and Natalie Portman have taught us, but something makes me believe that Jessica doesn't have to battle with Gary Oldman and is therefore killing just for the thrill (and money).

I feel that niki/Jessica is going to die. Remember a few months ago when Issac made a painting of Niki looking dead with some blood coming out of her mouth. Someone smudged some paint off of her back and saw that the tattoo was hidden under the paint. Now in this episode we see Jessica covering up that tattoo with makeup. Seems a bit too much of a coincidence, especially considering there is going to be a major character killed off on March 5th.
As for how Sylar found Zane Taylor, if you read this week's graphic novel it shows how he found him. Actually was one of the better novels IMO although one scene is a bit, er... graphic.
I felt bad for Mr Muggles at the end of this episode. Poor dog getting things thrown at him :(

It's always a good day when there is a J-unit recap.
The Heroes are acting so stupid these days. Matt taking the diamonds but leaving the ceiling tile open, the case with his prints on it...dumb. Hiro at the end of a pistol AGAIN. Claire throwing a rock at bio-daddy's car and smart mouthing HRG. Well, I guess I should cut her some slack - look who her parents are. Nathan the asshole who thinks 100 grand is going make things ok and Fire McMommy who apparently will probably turn out to be a coyote running illegals back across the border (oh - sorry...migrant workers).
And I agree 626 - I am worried for Mr. Muggles. This has to be upsetting.

Peter has to die this season. with him able to gain powers and now keep them just by brushing against someone, he is more powerful than superman. its ridiculous. having someone would hinder the story. they cant let sylar get too strong too; that is a shark jumper as well.

I don't know about the whole shark-jumping thing. Maybe Peter and Sylar are the superhero/superantihero and all the other heroes are going to be forced to be with Peter - or have their brain eaten by Sylar. Who knows, but it could be cool. I am not ready to see Sylar or Peter go.

Am I the only one who noticed that the dude that Hiro/Ando robbed was Dobber from "Coach?"

i recognized the dobber. sweet cameo. i actually liked seeing george takei as well. according to imdb, he is contracted for several episodes. so maybe it's going to turn out that hiro's dad either has some involvement with linderman or the like, or maybe--just maybe--he's hiding an ability of his own.
and here's another small-world moment: i was watching bits and pieces of the grammys last week, and noticed that, when the dixie chicks won one of their several self-congratulatory-PC prizes, nathan petrelli was sitting with the chicks and their families/agents/producers.
turns out adrian pasdar--the actor who plays nathan--has been married to the singer from the dixie chicks since 2000. also turns out that adrian's father is a surgeon from iran who moved to the US when the shah was deposed by the shiites (thanks, wikipedia!). the fact that she is married to a fella from the middle east and her children are of middle eastern descent sheds a little light on why ms. maines (er, mrs. pasdar) has been so outspoken in her criticism of W. and the rush to war. i still think (paraphrasing matt stone) that actors and singers are monkeys and have no business pontificating about politics (i'm talking to you, george clooney), but given that natalie's children have roots in the war zone, her remarks seem a little more justified.
i love heroes. it's a real antidote to the sickness i get from watching 24 go down the tubes.

Actually i remember Dobber from the Stephen King movie 'The Stand'... yep, m-o-o-n,,,, remember?....*sigh* okay.
Good call 626 on the jessica thing. But i kinda wonder, if that was going to be Nikki's power, to be in 2 places at once?...that'd be awesome!.... i too was disappointed to see Matt pocket the stash... very disappointed. *sigh*

Actually 626, I thought that painting that Isaac did of Nikki already came true when she fought with DL. When she was on the floor after he put his arm through her insides, the symbol faded. But I don't remember any blood, so you could be very right.

Mohinder is just the most naive twit walking around. I seriously want to slap him every time he shows up on the screen - thanks so much for the checklist, that was hysterical. The writers need to give this character a brain and take out the straw that's in his head.
I was also surprised to see Matt pocket the diamonds, but after finding them, he was on his way over to give them to the detective when he heard the detective thinking he's a putz and will never get back on the squad. Am wondering what he'll do with them now, however. If he shows up in the next show with a new Ferrari, the shark will be jumped.
Great recap!

I feel bad for Mr. Muggles, too. :-P I think they might kill Mrs. Bennet. Her behavior is reminding me too much of Joyce Summers before she died and they made one of my most favorite B:TVS episodes ever.
I don't think they're going to kill Niki/Jessica because one of them was in the vision that Peter had. Besides that, they're more than likely going to do an episode of getting rid of Jessica (probably with Matt's help or maybe that Indian dream kid or something).
Someone who might die is Isaac (even though he was in the vision, too). It looks like Peter might go all Sylar on his a$$ for the whole Simone thing.
I was wondering about the whole tapping Claire's phone or even looking at the bill/call record, too. It was the first thing that came to mind when she was sending text messages in Homecoming.
About these people being stupid, yeah, some worse than others. Zane Taylor talked to Suresh on the phone. First, I wouldn't imagine someone with the last name of Suresh to look like a crazy white guy. Second, phones don't give people accents that go away in person. Granted, he did seem quite a bit on the crazy side...
Mohinder on the other hand... How did he get a doctorate? When people are being killed for their abilities, you'd think you might try to mention this to the people you've met with powers and try to stick with them. Also, considering how people treated you and your father like you loons for the ideas, you might think to be a little more tact about it when calling the people on the list.

It seemed obvious to me that Claire's mom is the one who dies.
I'm glad someone else wanted to smack Mohinder and Matt for being so stupid.

The whole HRG and Claire backstory this week is a TOTAL rip-off of another
TV show. Mild-manner suburbanite Barney Rubble "works" at a rock quarry. He
and his unassuming wife Betty are unable to conceive. Miraculously, he
receives a baby named Bam-Bam with unexplainable super strong powers And don't get me started with the Haitian being a copycat of the Great Gazoo. Hmm... It reeks of plagiarism to me.
