He doesn't answer. Typical. I really hope he doesn't use that robots v. aliens thing as a pickup line later in life, unless he wants to maintain his virginity. Class begins, and the science teacher asks the room full of robots if they know who was responsible for a work on the struggle for survival. Claire writes down "Darwin," but doesn't volunteer an answer. Frustrated with the achievement gap at this posh, well-funded, properly equipped high school, the teacher complains that it's an easy answer. West notices she doesn't answer, of course. Also, maybe this is an integrated science class, but there really aren't any Bunsen burners in Biology classes -- and this looks like a Chem lab. Darwin never came up in AP Chem when I was in school, but then again, none of the experiments we did in that class ever worked -- unless you count an error rate of 400% successful. Seriously though, my teacher had to read what was supposed to happen in each experiment from the teacher's edition since our equipment was so ghetto. And there were several incidents where she yelped, "Oh crap! I forgot to tell you about the toxic green gas! To the fume hood! To the fume hood!"
Somewhere in Honduras, or South America in general
Team Migrate (Maya y Alejandro) approach some sketchy guys in a truck/bus. Ah yes, getting smuggled across the border is a rite of passage around these parts. "Ten thousand lempiras, I'll take you as far as Sonora, 600 miles from the American border," one of the smugglers tells them. No in-drive snack? That's a terrible deal, but the two take it, even after the men leer at Maya. "You can ride with me up front," one of the drivers insists. "In your dreams!" she spits. "Ride with me or you don't ride at all." Well, why doesn't Maya has herpes or AIDS or some highly infectious disease to deter the lecherous pawings of the guys? They duo insist on riding together in the back, and settle themselves in the back of the van full of soon-to-be illegals.
New York
Parkman picks up Molly from her school playground, who is adorable and precocious-looking in her parka and white leggings. No one over the age of 8 should wear white leggings, ever -- not even before Labor Day. Unless they are a nurse from the past, and even then, that's no excuse.
"Guess what? Max Gertman tried to kiss me today!"she squeals. Kids these days. As Parkman turns to leave with the kid, Molly's teacher comes up and expresses concern about how Molly is falling asleep in class. She informs him that Molly's been having nightmares. Well, duh.
"Your situation isn't the most stable," says the teacher, citing his injuries, his divorce, and his employment. I guess they had a lot to discuss as the parent-teacher conference recently? "All you need to know is that Molly is loved and cared for," says Matt. And that's when Teacher whips out Molly's doodles of cupcakes and unicorns. Only they look like pages of menacing faces and scary eyebrows with the Heroes symbol for a nose.
Good to see you can identify recurring motifs in crayon drawings, Teacher.
"What is this?" asks Teacher, pointing to the symbol - it's in every single picture. Perhaps if Molly had chosen a slightly cheerier color palette from her crayon box (happy shades like fuchsia), Teacher might not have been so worried. Kids like to draw a lot of the same thing, it's certainly not as disturbing as the penis drawings that Seth in Superbad makes. NSFW, but hilarious.
New York City, by the familiar red staircase sculpture
Ando and Kaito Nakamura sit glumly together -- Ando's cleaned himself up and looks super-professional, he's traded in his Members Only jacket for a Trench and a tie. The atmosphere is somber as they contemplate Hiro's disappearance.
"It's been almost four months and there's been no sign of him," says Ando. "For close to thirty yearsI have seen my son as a disappointment," confides Kaito. "It was not until his quest that I saw his strength, wisdom and courage. I am meant to hand down a legacy to him. I will wait for Hiro to return. I am a man of patience." It's all very Zen, and just a hint of how badass George Takai is. He opens his newspaper and a photo drops out of it. It's a picture that's been torn in half, of his face with a red heroes symbol scrawled over it. "It can't be," he says. "Where did you get this newspaper?"

T.Vo!!! Great recap and i officially love the new word EMOTARD!!! that described that kid to perfection. Sort of a slow episode, but i figure they are setting up the future eps storyline. The best part of the ep? No Niki/Jessica...can we have more eps without her puhlease!

I started reading this earlier, but had to stop, and now I want to finish reading it, but it's only showing me the first page...what's happening?!

Hey all,
I have no idea what's happening, the recap published just fine (since at least lloyd dobbler got to read it in its entirety, the thing took me about 12 hours to complete, don't laugh) -- and now it disappeared. Maybe I got punked by TVGasm for my 23rd birthday? But that's not until tomorrow...
Hopefully it'll be back up soon, we've got ghosts or something on this site.
Thanks for the support, it means a lot!

Great recap, T.Vo! I almost fell out of my chair when you called Mama P part manbearpig. Where's Al Gore to hunt her down when you need him?
They better be planning to do something super kickass with Maya y Alejandro because I'm all ready skeptical about that developing storyline.
And I had never realized the smoking hotness that was Milo V. until I saw him on a talk show last year with his hair slicked back and not all in his face like Peter has it. I'm glad they let him cut it off.

And happy birthday, (even if it is a little early)!

Great recap. Yeah, Roly-Poly Midas will always be Ned Ryerson to me. I knew emotard was going to have some sort of "talent." I bet HE can backflip off the tower. I thought it was a good show. It's pretty obvious that Hiro himself will make the legends that he knows. And I that means it was his sword all along. Sort of. I think.

Great Recap!! But alas, i too found the season opener lacking a little. I kinda felt out of the loop a bit there with all the changes that were going on AND for the first time i kinda got bored of Hiro (can u belieive that!!!).
AND is it just me or does West (emotard! haha) kinda looks like a young Peter P / Ralph Macchio?....just a thought...
But i'm totally looking forward to next week, hopefully it will be a lil bit more exciting....BTW....I LOVE Peter P's new look....mmmmmm yummy yummy, i likey dat tummy....!!!
Twnny.

Geewits, excellent "Sneakers" reference for that you should be commended.
I enjoyed this one, though I am missing the token hotness of Ali Larter, and I am not so much into the Hondurians. Not yet anyways. Do you think Senator Petrlli went diidling his little pilot into some Costa Verde woman? Makes you wonder how many more of Claire's pseudo-crushes will be related to her? Some sort of Elenaor DeRoosevelt syndrome.
I thought it was a cop-out to have the Ginsu Master as an Englishman, I think it was an obvious plot device because they know most americans can't/won't/don't read. Other than lookign forward to next monday. Good recap.

Loved the Recap! I liked this episode, except for all of the Nissan Rouge commercials.
When I saw Nathan looking in the mirror and seeing the burned person, I immidiatly thought "Nathan is dead and that is Peter". Then they showed Peter in Dublin, and I thought "Syler"! They both have the power to change into other people, and the image could have been Peter's guilt at killing Nathan? Just a thought.

Thanks for the recap and for noticing the pencil in West's ear at gym class.. so weird. Anywho, I heard that Maya kills people with a virus of some kind spontaneously when she gets freaked out, and that her brother is the anti-virus which is why they need to stay together to prevent her from wiping out everyone.

excellent recap, had me giggling! I think the new girl from across the border is HOT HOT HOT, and I'm not even straight . . . imagine . . . but T.vo, why hold out on the girls, like me and not, who want to see the real haircut--just be careful where you place that arrow . . .totally thought the Hiro story too much comic relief and lame . . . I thought the daughter was going to be the hero, and history wouldn't write it that way, as they never give women credit, but I guess it'll just be Hiro and a few face scrunches . . . oh well.
Guess his dad could have picked a better spot to await death . . . no one would look for superpowered humans on that roof, would they!?

Okay, is it just me, or did this recap feel rushed. I know you've got it in you, just have some one read over this before you post it. Lots of errors, made it real hard to enjoy.

Not that good of a recap. I noticed a lot of missed words, and it's just distracting. I know you've got the comedy in you, but just have someone read this over before you post.

great recap! though i think missed words and distracting format should be taken up to high brass in the IT department. hey, tech nerds, clean it up a bit so that the gems of the internet like T.Vo can be presented in a nice space!
t.vo rocks -- i lol'd my loller self off!
