They argue in front of a dead woman in another room in the parlor. "How can I still feel surprise?" says Wilson, speaking for all of us. House accuses Wilson of having abandonment issues. He does that thing that all therapists in movies do, which is to repeat some phrase over and over until the person breaks down. "It's not your fault! It's not your fault!" Etc. Finally Wilson does indeed break down, and chucks a liquor bottle through a stained-glass window. Wow, foreshadowing is cool! They should do that more often!
A sweaty-toothed madman!
House and Wilson end up in a diner, having re-bonded over destruction--and where was that cop when the funeral home needed him, anyway? House gets another update from the kids back home. He brainstorms with Wilson, calls the POW's interpreter, and figures out that the POW was an unwanted child. Maybe the bio-rents tried to kill her as a baby, and maybe that's what's causing her problems. Come on House, keep up. I called that back in the first paragraph. House teleports back to Jersey, Just In Time to stop a potentially deadly MRI, and x-rays her brain to find three pins embedded in there. The bio-rents stuck them through the soft spot in her skull when she was a newborn, which has to be the most gruesome thing I've ever heard. I hope they don't get this show in China. Anyway, she survived, but those shifty monks hid a magnet in the Buddha's base to fool the supplicants. The magnet pulled on the pins, which triggered her symptoms. Despite the pins being smack in the middle of her brain, Kumar is all "oh, we'll pull those pesky pins right out, never you mind". Like she just has a splinter. But we're all out of time for the Tense Surgical Procedure this week.
This week on Heroes: the Face Of Sarcasm is revealed.
After the Miraculous Recovery (removing the pins also happened to cure her substance abuse problems, BTW), House sits in his office looking miserable, and Wilson drops by to ask why. The DNA test came back, and House was right: Pa House wasn't his bio-dad after all. House is miserable because he expected to feel better, and doesn't. Cheer up, House. You have two BFFs now! Where's Lucas been, anyway?
Wilson says you don't get to choose your friends any more than you choose your parents, and he enjoyed the road trip so much that he's taking his job back. Wow, they have the hardest time getting rid of old characters on this show. Just make a clean break already!
Another pretty good episode this week, though--maybe even the best so far. It always seems to take a few episodes for the show to get its groove on. It felt like old times with the Houseguests v1.0 and Wilson back, but the absence of any mention of Lucas was fishy. It's almost like they filmed this episode before they filmed the Lucas episodes, and then dropped in a scene mentioning Taub's affair to make the continuity work. But that's my only real beef with this episode. Well, and I think they could have milked House's eulogy for a little more character drama. Despite the clippers, it was kind of a letdown. Freaky diseases notwithstanding, what makes this show work is House's character. Hear me now and believe me later: there are better ensemble shows, but Greg House is the single most complex and interesting character on TV. So what happens next week when Wilson and Lucas meet up? Girl fight!

Wow, sorry I missed this ep.
BTW, similar gruesome things still happen -- here.

there was a similar case a year or two ago where this lady had 26 sewing needles in her brain. I guess they really do use real cases. Sometimes I think they just make up stuff.
oh yeah, glad House & Wilson are reunited finally!
