Newsgasm: I'll Show You My Lasso If You Show Me Yours Edition -
by m_ruv

- Brokeback Mountain led the Golden Globe nominations this morning, with seven nods including Best Picture - Drama, Best Actor (Heath Ledger), and Best Director (Ang Lee). Following closely behind the gay cowboy drama was the lesbian elevator-operator comedy Going Down, Judith? [AP]
- Colin Farrell has jumped onto the ever-popular exhaustion/drug dependency bandwagon and is currently under treatment. What, no alcohol problem? Come on, Colin, I thought you were HARDCORE IRISH. [E! online]
- Singer Joss Stone has been named the best celebrity dog parent, while social cancer Paris Hilton has been named the worst. Well no shit. Did nobody read this interview? Paris says she had childhood aspirations to become a veterinarian before she realized she "could just buy a bunch of animals." I love Paris sometimes—I don't even have to make up her quotes. [AP]

Oh m-ruv. You do such a good job on these. I think I would see "Judith."
Btdubs- I think his name is spelled "Farrell."

Funny, i would never have pegged Stone as a poodle person. Can't you see her more as having a big labrador or golden or one of those running in the fields dogs?

"Going Down, Judith?" - very funny.
But isn't "Going Down, Edith Me Lovely?" featuring a lispy elevator operator, a bit funnier? You decide. :)

GO SEE BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN!!
It's a great film, beautiful love story. Gay men and chicks will love it.
For all you straight guys out there who might feel uncomfortable at the sight of two guys together, don't worry. The man-on-man action is really tame and less than 10 seconds. And if you can sit through that, you are rewarded with boobie shots of Anne Hathaway and Michelle Williams.

M_ruv, were you one of the gays in line an hour before the movie began at the Chelsea Clearview on the opening night of Brokeback Mountain?
If so, I was the one sitting behind you. Weeping.

Ha please, we were at the Loews Village VII. The Clearview was sold out!
Yeah, it is a wonderfully made, landmark film - I thought it improved on the short story a lot, and I was surprised that Heath Ledger more than lived up to the hype. I agree that it's probably tamer than most in middle America would think. But we'll see how the box office goes.
