I was so distracted by the food fight and the meditation, that I almost missed one of the funniest things I've seen on this show. The sneaky anonymous boy hiding from the food fight on the side so he could savor the yummy dinner. Don't believe me?

Now THERE'S a smart man

When the council lets the Pioneers know about the re-election, all the kids are thrilled about the possibilty of new leaders. Olivia, who seems to have nitpicked Anjay every chance she gets, and is therefore now a confirmed annoyance, is particularly excited. When Olivia finds out she can remove Anjay she says, "Alright...ok...this works for me." Know what else could work for you? Never turning your head to the side. Ever.

Not suprisingly, Zach is dead set on removing Taylor as the Yellow leader. So dead set, in fact, that he spends all day practicing his election speech. Which is sort of funny to me, because he could stand there and just say, "I won't say deal with it" and he'd win. He wants a real speech though, so he's practicing away. I'd tell you what he says, but he annoyed me while he was practicing, so I'm boycotting his attention. Too bad Zach lovers. Wait till next week when he starts witholding money from the pioneers who don't do work. Then we'll discuss Zach. Until then, I'm afraid we shant.

Taylor is a little worried, so the loyal Taylorettes make campaign posters to hang up around town. The posters very appropriately recite a campaign slogan/cheerleader cheer. Markelle really hates Taylor so he tears her sign down and hops on it with a pogo stick. Markelle is team Red and therefore can't vote against her, but this is still not a good sign for Taylor's future. Nothing says dethroned like bitches poging all over your ass.

She doesn't really make a big deal out of it though, which suprised me. I thought at the very least she'd reciprocate the loyalty and defend her Taylorette sign-makers. I must confer with the Beauty Queen handbook to make sense of all this. Ah, yes, here it is- rule number three: smooth things over with anyone who pogos all over your cheerposters. Suggestion: smile and bat eyelashes. Loyalty requirement: not applicable.

Leila is the head Taylorette and she happened to make the specific sign that Markell tore down and pogoed to death. She's very upset because it took a lot of time effort to make that sign. Know what I do when mean boys upset me Leila? I do my very best Donky Kong Gorilla impression.

That's it Sweetie, you got it!...

Ok so I lied. One cartoon animal comparison per recap. That's it. Don't worry about Leila, Greg will take care of her, and he's much nicer than me. When he gets word that Leila is upset and goes to comfort her in her room. And just like that Greg is good again. It's actually amazing the capabilities that these kids have to make me dislike them one day and then love them the next. I guess that's what so special about them when you think about it. Adults I can hate forever. Little kids though...I can only hate them for a day or two before they get cute again. That settes it! Next time I get pregnant, I'm totally keeping this one!

The Green team meets up to discuss the potential removal of Laurel. Sophia asks for a pre-voting survey of Green's opinion and it turns out everyone on Green thinks Laurel is doing great. Laurel is moved and touched, not to mention thrilled that she'll be staying in "powa." I can't even go over the R thing again. I'm too exhausted by it. It's never going away. I've accepted it.

Mike finds out that Guylan will be running against him for the red team. Wait Guylan? Why not Jared? I want Jared as councilman. And I want many many speeches, and obligatory morning meditation, afternoon chicken killing, and weekly tornados. I still haven't even seen Jared this episode. It's been thirty five minutes, where the hell is Jared dammit!? Don't mess with me CBS. I'm not a patient woman. I'm on the go. In some circles I'm known as a mover and a shaker. Actually, it's not so much in circles as much as on top of bars, oh but Gasmi, that's neither here nor there. We have a show to recap.

Excellent recap Dr!! I too was afraid to call Olivia a bitch bc she is a child...the duck approach was much better! :) I demand that next week be an entire hour of our Jared!!

Re: Laurel quasi-cheating to beat Taylor..."Very New England Patrioty"...GOOD ONE!!.

I'm happy for Laurel. She was so genuinely touched by her team mates loyalty!

I think Zach is kind of annoying. My feelings about Zach are best summed up using the old adage we Red Sox fans like to spout about any team who plays against the evil empire, The NY Yankees. Who do we want to win??....ANYONE BUT THE YANKEES. So too with Zach V. Taylor. ANYONE BUT TAYLOR!

Why no mention of Greg's (very) brief call home?? I would have been interested in an observation or two about those who spawned him.

Krizzatch Author Profile Page:

Not that it matters much, Doctor, but the Yellow team won the challenge and Green team came in second.

Guylan is totally a tranny.

What is it about those olive green hats they wear that make their heads look HUGE?

Shaydie:

"I'm happy for Laurel. She was so genuinely touched by her team mates loyalty!"

But look at how manipulative Sophia did it... she said, "Ok, is there anyone here who would not vote for Laurel?" with Laurel standing right there. What is there to say to that? Sophia is my favorite, anyway.

goosegg1001:

First we announce that Taylor is remaining Green's leader.

hmmm maybe we dont get the same show. ok ill let that error slide because this recap was amazing! All the duck jokes were great. I really cant stand olivia. ugh.

Im excited for next week with taylor. I hope she makes me proud.

humperdinck:

Flintheart Glomgold. Unless you were thinking of Magica De Spell.

Mcsteeny:

Magica De Spell!!! Humperdink, you are my savior. I called everyone I knew to get that name and no one could tell me- so I had to inaccurately go with Scrooge McDuck. It's been killing me ever since, thank you!

Krizzatch: you're right, yellow won- I forgot Laurel had her order wrong the first time.

Gooseg: a typo of sorts on my part, of course. Clearly Laurel is green's leader.

Thanks everybody, hope you enjoy!

ebnoia:

Great recap!

I too was very disappointed in the lack of Jared in this episode. We need more Jared!! He is the best.

I did notice the boy trying to eat his food during the food fight. I almost peed my pants. That was great!!

My favorite caption...
"YES! Now I can buy all the tampons and boxer briefs I need!"
Who the hell is Guylan anyway??

sweetblondie:

My 14 yr old son turned to me while watching Guylan and he was all serious and awkward and said "Mom, ummmm, is that a boy or what?" with a truly confused look on his face.

But I liked Guylan (even though I have issues with those that were home schooled) and honestly I can't believe the ages of this "kids". I can't even imagine my son saying anything remotely as mature as these "kids".

Another excellent recap Doc!

Dawn:

I had no idea what sex Guylan was but I thought he/she/it was awesome for giving that leadership thing a shot just because the opportunity was there.

Mike and Anjay never won a decision against Taylor ever! I almost wish Taylor hadn't been dethroned just so we could see Guylan tell her off and let these kids eat something good for a change!

Beauty Queens neither cook nor eat food, but they do need to brush their teeth so you don't smell the bullemia breath.

lloyd dobbler:

Dr. McSteeny!!! Great recap!! So happy with the pageant queen being dethrones, SO UNHAPPY there was no jared!!! I alomost corrected you on the scrooge mcduck reference, but i see i was beat to it:) Heres to next week and a dethroned beauty queen turning to hardcore sprite drinking, and assault on town leadership!!!

fanofjared:

I missed Jared in this show. :-( But I have seen his youtube video and it seems like we will get to see a whole lot of him in the next couple of weeks... At least that is the way it looks because of who is on the council in the video. YEA. I can't wait to see what he has to say next week...

purplesoup:

Excellent recap.
I love reading your KN recaps, they make me laugh out loud every time.
I noticed that you did not mention two things that I thought for sure would be included:
-Michael's laugh (if you could call it a laugh) at that pro-Taylor vote
and
-Greg's erm... position while he comforted Leila. Looked to my friends and me like he was looking for a very special way of comforting her.
Anyway,
Can't wait til next week's recap!
