In the end, Green wins and yellow are the merchants. Blue comes in third and we're down to the wire again with Mike and the Red team. Luckily they pull through at the last minute and the Pioneers get the reward. This week's options: a BBQ party or toothpaste. Council join together and Mike and Taylor have the following priceless exchange.
Mike: We need the meat.
Taylor: We can haave meat whenever we waunt.
Mike: Actually, we can't have meat whenever we want.
Taylor: Kill a chicken
Not suprisingly the mini-adults choose the toothpaste. Why do we even bother with options at this point? Why don't they just take the fun thing that the average child would want, and throw it away, and then just give the Pioneers the other more functional option.
No thanks, we'll pass
Town meeting time is approaching quickly. Zack wishes Taylor luck, Mike's not worried and Olivia talks to Greg. Cut scene to Taylor confessional-style telling us that Zach made a good speech, but she's not the kind of girl that backs down from a fight. I'm not gonna lie, I'm kinda loving Taylor today. As bitchy as she can be sometimes, you gotta give the girl credit. She makes for fantastic television.
By the time the town meeting arrives the anticipation is high. We know the gold star is down to Greg and Zach. Just before the name is announced Greg swallows hard. He can taste it. As soon as Taylor stands up, we know it's Greg. Taylor has been pulling for him since day one, it only make sense that she'd announce Greg, and not Zach, her arch nemesis.
She makes it official and Greg is thrilled and even hugs host Jonathan. Cue vulnerable Greg. The Pioneers have no idea how much this means to Greg. Aw, his voice is cracking, and not in the usual fifteen year-old way. He's fighting back tears. Because this gold star right here.. this means he's going to college. Misty eyes achieved CBS. You bastards.
This right here... is going to the best looking stripper in Vegas
Before Greg can call his parents, we have to have the official council vote. First we announce that Taylor is remaining Green's leader. Next we go to blue. It starts off looking like a close race but in the end Anjay wins by a considerable margin. He graciously thanks Oliva for trying, and says he will be more open to her ideas. Olivia yells back " I don't believe you" and Anjay sits down embarrassed and upset. Suffering succotash, Olivia, don't be so obnoxious. It's really unaquacktive.
Next is the Red team. Remember Mike isn't worried. Well he should be. Vote after vote we see Mike get more and more upset. The look on his face is priceless; one of shock and defeat. The room is silent but for anonymous giggles. Poor Mike. He didn't do that bad of a job, he's just so arrogant that no one wants to see him with power. Much to Mike's dismay, Guylan is victorious.
YES! Now I can buy all the tampons and boxer briefs I need!
Upon his defeat, Mike puts his head down. When he lifts it up he is sad and crying- no wait, laughing, and yelling "this sucks." Kk, well that's one way to respond. Actually it's two, but who's counting. Confessionally, he admits that his ego was killed. But then again, his ego was sort of asking for it wasn't it? He asks us, what did I do? Oh Mike, we've gone over this already. You were a Nazi. Laurel, help me out please, how many times have we gone over this?

And NOW the moment we've all been waiting for. The suspense is killing me. Will Taylor be dethroned? The jury is split, and it all comes down to the last vote. What I found hysterical is that the entire time Host Jonathan was reading the cards, the entire community would cheer when he said Zach's name and when he said Taylor's name they'd just show her clapping for herself. It was likely editing, but still. Brilliantly done. When the final vote is read it's Zach, and everyone is relieved. Taylor handles it pretty well though, I expected a big rant. But then I remembered Rule number five of the beauty pagent handbook: lose graciously, and then kick someone next week.
Wait, I still get to keep my tiara, right?

Excellent recap Dr!! I too was afraid to call Olivia a bitch bc she is a child...the duck approach was much better! :) I demand that next week be an entire hour of our Jared!!

I think Zach is kind of annoying. My feelings about Zach are best summed up using the old adage we Red Sox fans like to spout about any team who plays against the evil empire, The NY Yankees. Who do we want to win??....ANYONE BUT THE YANKEES. So too with Zach V. Taylor. ANYONE BUT TAYLOR!
Why no mention of Greg's (very) brief call home?? I would have been interested in an observation or two about those who spawned him.

Not that it matters much, Doctor, but the Yellow team won the challenge and Green team came in second.

But look at how manipulative Sophia did it... she said, "Ok, is there anyone here who would not vote for Laurel?" with Laurel standing right there. What is there to say to that? Sophia is my favorite, anyway.

hmmm maybe we dont get the same show. ok ill let that error slide because this recap was amazing! All the duck jokes were great. I really cant stand olivia. ugh.

Great recap!
I too was very disappointed in the lack of Jared in this episode. We need more Jared!! He is the best.
I did notice the boy trying to eat his food during the food fight. I almost peed my pants. That was great!!

My 14 yr old son turned to me while watching Guylan and he was all serious and awkward and said "Mom, ummmm, is that a boy or what?" with a truly confused look on his face.
But I liked Guylan (even though I have issues with those that were home schooled) and honestly I can't believe the ages of this "kids". I can't even imagine my son saying anything remotely as mature as these "kids".

I had no idea what sex Guylan was but I thought he/she/it was awesome for giving that leadership thing a shot just because the opportunity was there.
Mike and Anjay never won a decision against Taylor ever! I almost wish Taylor hadn't been dethroned just so we could see Guylan tell her off and let these kids eat something good for a change!
Beauty Queens neither cook nor eat food, but they do need to brush their teeth so you don't smell the bullemia breath.

Dr. McSteeny!!! Great recap!! So happy with the pageant queen being dethrones, SO UNHAPPY there was no jared!!! I alomost corrected you on the scrooge mcduck reference, but i see i was beat to it:) Heres to next week and a dethroned beauty queen turning to hardcore sprite drinking, and assault on town leadership!!!

I missed Jared in this show. :-( But I have seen his youtube video and it seems like we will get to see a whole lot of him in the next couple of weeks... At least that is the way it looks because of who is on the council in the video. YEA. I can't wait to see what he has to say next week...

Excellent recap.
I love reading your KN recaps, they make me laugh out loud every time.
I noticed that you did not mention two things that I thought for sure would be included:
-Michael's laugh (if you could call it a laugh) at that pro-Taylor vote
and
-Greg's erm... position while he comforted Leila. Looked to my friends and me like he was looking for a very special way of comforting her.
Anyway,
Can't wait til next week's recap!
