I've so been waiting for this re-cap. I was flipping through the channels the other night, and it was during the scene where cedric calls jason "cutie" I was dying laughing. I thought you really would of tore that up. jason looked so uncomfortable after cedric did that.

Does anyone know for sure that Jason graduated? We never saw him in cap and gown. They showed everyone else that was on this season, but Jason was nowhere to be seen. I'm wondering if he is on the Talan plan.

Who's who in "Laguna Beach"

If this were an episode of MTV's "Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County," it would be a sunny Saturday afternoon, and Alex M. and I would be shopping at Zebraclub in downtown Seattle, and I would be saying things like, "Ohmygod, so cute" about a pair of white, slouchy cowboy boots. Wow, I'm really good at being 18.

After spending the weekend chasing the Laguna kids all over town — shopping on Saturday, dinner at Joeys Saturday night, brunch at the Sheraton on Sunday — I have a confession to make: I kind of have a crush on Jason now. But hold your disbelief for just a second, because I'm getting ahead of myself here ...

Alex M., Jason, Lauren ("LC") and Dieter were in Seattle in support of Dieter's charity, Running Home 4 Teens (rh4t.com), which he founded last year to raise awareness for teenagers suffering from depression and substance abuse after battling depression himself over his breakup with Jessica. Meantime, Stephen and Kristin also happened to be in town on Saturday night to host a foam party, which I didn't realize actually existed outside of episodes of "Elimidate," but anyway.

Since UW played USC on Saturday, I used the opportunity to bring up the subject of Matt Leinart when I met Kristin at the Grand Hyatt that evening. They dated for a couple of months at the beginning of "Laguna's" second season.

"He saw me on the show ... and called me out of nowhere one day," Kristin said. "I had no idea who he was, so I looked up his picture on the USC Web site, but it was a really bad picture, so I was like, 'Ew! I'm not calling him back!' " (I looked up his picture, too, and she's right — he looked kind of like Bob Guiney from "The Bachelor." Not hot.)

Kristin, who lives in Los Angeles and is pursuing acting, arrived hand-in-hand with Brody Jenner, 22, who starred in the short-lived Fox reality series "Princes of Malibu." He just bought her a French bulldog puppy, which she named Bentley.

By the way, Kristin and Steph-en are so not getting back together. Dun-zo.

But I'm over it, because I'm pretty sure Lauren and Jason are the new Kristin and Stephen. Yes, they are totally dating, and he lo-o-oves her. He told me so as we were sitting outside Joeys Saturday night — he was smoking Parliament Lights and I was wearing his black fleece hoodie because it was cold and he offered. I know what you're thinking: I can't believe Pam was wearing fleece.

Here's what I was thinking: I can't believe Jason knows more than three words. I asked him why he never talks on the show. (Sample dialogue: "Wow." "What?" "Nothing.")

"It was just the situations they put me in. They [MTV] set you up and they'll be like, 'Listen, you're going to go to this place and talk about this.' It makes me really uncomfortable," he said.

That whole breakup scene with Jessica? Fake.

"I broke up with Jessica three or four weeks before that," Jason said. "I wasn't going to call her and break up with her on camera for real."

He doesn't talk to Jessica anymore and he said he doesn't care for Alex M. much either. (I love Alex M. I want her to be my new best friend.) Jason and Jessica dated for less than two months; Jason and Alex M. dated for "like a minute," she says. "It was really fast."

"Jason's like the guy who you get a little buzz on and then you kiss him," Alex M. said. "I'm telling you, everyone has kissed Jason." (Later, I asked Kristin if she was the only girl in Laguna who hadn't kissed Jason. "I've kissed him!" she laughed. "But that's it.")

Jessica, meanwhile, is going to community college in Laguna and recently started hanging out with Dieter again. "She comes up [to Los Angeles] and I've been going back to Laguna a lot," Dieter said. "I love the girl and I'll always love her. She knows that." As for a reunion between the couple, he said, "I dunno."

Stay tuned. "Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County" airs 10 p.m. Mondays on MTV; a second-season marathon is scheduled to start at 4 p.m. Nov. 12. The season finale airs Nov. 14.

Some final tidbits:

• Alex H. is moving in with Alex M. (and out of Kristin's place — scandalous!) in Los Angeles. Alex M. recently set her up with a guy in a band and they are now dating.

• Casey's lives in the old Gucci mansion in Laguna, according to Alex M. "MTV kind of forced me to be friends with her," she said.

• Alex M. is recording an album. So is Talan.

• Jason, Stephen and Dieter live together in Los Angeles in a 16th floor high-rise. Jason and Stephen are taking acting classes; Dieter is interning at a talent agency. None of them cleans the apartment. "You walk in there and you don't even see the floor," Jason said.

• Kristin just scored a small role in an upcoming Al Pacino movie called "88 Minutes." She doesn't know what the part is, and she didn't have to audition.

• Stephen is currently single and looking. He wants someone who is mature, has a good personality, loves to have fun and "can keep up." And by the way, he never hooked up with Paris Hilton.

Hey B-side, first of all you rock, you seriously make my work week so much more enjoyable!

Second, I read in some much loved "Guna Gossip" that Alex (Roz) will be moving out of the apartment she and Kristin currently live in and will be soon rooming with Alex M. So this "falling out" of Kristin and Roz might've happened after all.... duhn duhn DUHN!

2old4this-I heard that the ones that did walk for graduation were booed at and harassed by the crowd. I think some just didn't want to put up with that when they are graduating. I know I wouldn't.

Overall, great recap. A bit suprised by the hating on Laguna Beach and Alex B. though.

I thought this episode was a little boring, but i love these recaps. I think All these girls a back stabbers. At least if Kristin doesn't like you, she won't pretend. Gotta respect that. I also think the reason Jason told Lauren he loved her in third person is because, saying "I love you" to her might have been scary, because he might never have felt like this about the other girls he's dated. Everyone should understand, and he's a guy they don't react to things the way us women do.

Holy crap. No box of chocolates for that one. It was so cruel of MTV to place her right next to Jessica in the shots, it just made the difference even more apparent.

And Kristen's dad got her a frying pan? Uhm...okay. I did wish that they had continued that kitchenware present theme throughout that whole gift-giving montage that followed. Here Roz, you get a toaster. Alex, you get a colander. For Casey, we have a wok.
Hey, at least they got presents though. When I graduated my present was my dad telling me to get a job and move out.

This episode gave us the most homoerotic scene of the year. When Jason walked into Cedric's room and they walked towards one another, I swear to God, for a second I was SURE they were going to kiss. Plus everything that followed between these two in this scene made the gay for each other subtext rapidly become text.

This was my favorite episode of the season for one reason: No Talan.

As for Roz' 'end of the beginning' confusion...Jesus Christ. How dumb can these kids be?

The last minute trip and Jason's huge push that preceded it reminded me of the scene in Dumb and Dumber where the rich pretty girl throws the snowball and then dumb (or is it dumber) pushes her whole face in the snow really hard. Here is the big jock - who must have lost his scholarship to play baseball because he didn't graduate- pushing this little prissy girl and not realizing how mean it was. I'm glad she got him back-too bad he didn't fall, that would have been real funny.

Oh- and did you all hear Roz thank her 'Mommy' for the ring!

So if Talan dropped out of high school and was getting his GED, then how could he have asked Kristin to prom... if he didn't have a prom? Basically, Kristin was stressing out about not having a date when she knew that she HAD to ask Talan since he didn't go to school there anymore... that makes her even more annoying.

I thought that the episode was very uneventful, with the exception of seeing everyone's parents and/or siblings. I have to totally agree with the statement that Jessica's sister had hit every ugly branch on the way down. Jessica must have gotten all the looks and boobs in the family. I also did not notice till you pointed it out that casey's mother looks like that lady in New York who has had so many plastic surgeries that she is a freak show on Entertainment Tonight. Cannot wait will next week when LC and Jason go at it. and PLEASE show more Jessica and her fine body!!

ruplub-I know exactly how you feel. My boyfriend thinks I'm out of my mind that I have to watch a bunch of high schoolers Monday nights. But let's just say it's my guilty pleasure. Plus it make Mondays a lot more bearable. Maybe we all should start a support group. We should do it know before the season ends on the Nov 14th. We'll get good ol Rozzy to be our spokesperson!

htpnk - Thanks for your support. My husband laughs at me when I watch it and he says I need some help. But, at least I got him somewhat addicted to the show as well. I'm not too worried about 11/14. I am sure MTV will find a way to repeat every episode about 1000 times before the new season.

It just kills me that these kids, who are already priveleged beyond comprehension, are getting movie, tv and music deals. What gives? Oh, I also heard that not all the kids are wealthy - one of them lives in a mobile home. I hope that the 'guna fame dwindles soon for these toolboxes, kind of like the RW/RR rejects.

Let's not worry about the 15th, let's just focus on the now. I wonder if Cedric really did wear just his boxers under his graduation gown. OK...so Cedric the Gay Entertainer DID say "hey cutie" when he hugged J-Balls?! I swore that's what he said...but I haven't watched the tape again to see. Wonder when we'll see him on the Tony Awards?

My take on Talan...he probably had a D- or F average in one of his classes...found out at the last minute he wouldn't pass...so instead of the embarrassment of summer school or coming back the next year, he opted for the GED. Hey, recording a grammy award winning album and doing Lindsey Lohan is time consuming!

Okay I know I am about to make an unpopular statement but I feel like somebody needs to say it. Casey is by far one of my favorite people on the show. I know she may wear way to much make up and I can not figure out why she wears heels to the beach. But unlike Kristin and the Guna Tuna I think she is probably a very sweet person, a little goofy maybe, but sweet non the less. And the reality is she can always take off the makeup, but Kristin and Smelly Cat will always be self obsorbed butt holes. Plus lets be honest she definately gives us some of the best moments to laugh about, remember it was Casey that gave us the whole Hygiene problem post.

Some of you may have already seen this email that went around a couple of weeks ago about the seedy underbelly of MTV's Laguna Beach, but if not…enjoy!

Courtney and I had dinner with one of the "writers" of MTV's Laguna Beach last night. He said that the show is real but they definitely set up situations. Big surprise. As most of you remember last week the gang went to Cabo. I know that some of us thought it was weird that everyone was ignoring Jessica and hanging with Alex M. Here is some background. Before Cabo they showed Jessica meeting Jason at the golf course. They hung out all day and later that night they went to a party at Talan's house. Talan was trying to pull a fast one and not invite the MTV producers to the party. At the party (while Jason is supposedly still dating Alex M) one of Alex M's friends walked in on Jessica giving Jason head in the bathroom. The friend that walked in immediately called Alex M and tell her. Alex M and Taylor jump into Taylor's car to go kick Jessica's ass but get pulled over by the cops. Instead of playing it cool Taylor throws the fake id she has in her wallet into the back seat. The cops get suspicious and ask her what it was, do a search of the car, find the fake id, interrogate Alex M and get her to admit she has a fake id too. Cuff both of them and take them down to the station where MTV has to bail them out. So in one night Alex M found out that her boyfriend is a cheater and gets arrested.

The next day Kristen and her sidekick (I think that her name is Alex too?) anyway, they ask Jessica if she hooked with Jason and she totally denies everything. They later find out that she lied and that's why they are upset with her in Cabo.

LC and Jason are currently f'ing. Apparently Jason is a total moron (another big surprise) but he gets any girl super sprung. He failed out of senior year of high school and is not working.

LC and Kristin are not enemies but also not bff. They are both trying to become famous so they are hanging in LA.

Deter is a camera whore. Anytime the producers put together a scene he tries to tag along to get face time.

MTV is hated around Laguna Beach. People that are not on the show are always throwing beer cans and stuff at the cameras.

MTV is currently are working on a spin off for next season with different characters.

SnoozySuzy -- good question about Talan and why his effeminate sides are not more scrutinized. I don't know why that is. I think it's because a) he has no confirmed sidekick to help the joke, and b) he simply has never been a totally interesting character. Jason's dumb and inarticulate, but he's oddly fascinating, especially in the way he treats women and how they treat him. As a result, he's more often the target of commentary, and subsequently jokes as well.

LOL, you guys crack me up. I read this stuff when I am at work and I can't help but laugh, and everyone just looks at me like I'm crazy.

My sister’s, cousin’s, brother-in-law’s dog goes to the same groomer as Casey's mom. Anyways, she shared that that Talan’s been laying low because he doesn’t want to leak the news that MTV plans to feature a season of MADE totally devoted to his transformation from chapped lip, high school drop-out to the next Gwen Steffani. They also confirmed that Cedric has keeping time with Talan in the aftermath of the JaLC union.

Anyway the more exciting news comes from an email so take it as seriously as you want but it’s fabulously great dirt. It’s about the pre-Cabo weekend and helps explains why everyone, even Kirstin, was against Jessica. Remember how pissed I was at Alex M for freaking out on Jessica. Well here’s the new info… you got to read this so

The email said:

XXXXX and I had dinner with one of the “writers� of MTV’s Laguna Beach last night. He said that the show is real but they definitely set up situations. Big surprise.

As most of you remember last week the gang went to Cabo. I know that some of us thought it was weird that everyone was ignoring Jessica and hanging with Alex M. Here is some background. Before Cabo they showed Jessica meeting Jason at the golf course. They hung out all day and later that night they went to a party at Talan’s house. Talan was trying to pull a fast one and not invite the MTV producers to the party. At the party (while Jason is supposedly still dating Alex M) one of Alex M’s friends walked in on Jessica giving Jason head in the bathroom. The friend that walked in immediately called Alex M and tell her. Alex M and Taylor jump into Taylor’s car to go kick Jessica’s ass but get pulled over by the cops. Instead of playing it cool Taylor throws the fake id she has in her wallet into the back seat. The cops get suspicious and ask her what it was, do a search of the car, find the fake id, interrogate Alex M and get her to admit she has a fake id too. Cuff both of them and take them down to the station where MTV has to bail them out. So in one night Alex M found out that her boyfriend is a cheater and gets arrested.

The next day Kristin and her sidekick (I think that her name is Alex too?) anyway, they ask Jessica if she hooked with Jason and she totally denies everything. They later find out that she lied and that’s why they are upset with her in Cabo.

Other fun facts from the email were:

LC and Jason are currently f’ing. Apparently Jason is a total moron (another big surprise) but he gets any girl super sprung. He failed out of senior year of high school and is not working.

LC and Kristin are not enemies but also not bff. They are both trying to become famous so they are hanging in LA.

Deter is a camera whore. Anytime the producers put together a scene he tries to tag along to get face time.

MTV is hated around Laguna Beach. People that are not on the show are always throwing beer cans and stuff at the cameras.

MTV is currently are working on a spin off for next season with different characters.

So this help explains why Jessica gave in and let Alex M walk all over her. Alex M got totally screwed over by Jessica but I still think they are all little bitches.

Ok about those pictures that were posted when that girl met the cast...it really bothers me when I see "regular" people stalking "celebrities" so blatently like that. In all the pictures you can see all the camera phones and digital cameras in their faces. It just seems too pathetic to me. These are just regular people--yea I watch the show but I would not even treat actual superstars like that. I just don't like giving them that satisfaction. also, its annoying.
