Yeah, so I don't even know why I watch this show anymore! Between the single-syllable utterances from Kristin, and Stephen's visible vagina (seriously dude, get over her), I don't get it! Also, has enyone noticed MTV's sad attempts at seamless editing? The conversation between Kristin and Talan at dinner sounded like they spliced together a few choice phrases from the first season and added some dramatic meaningful looks for B roll. Puh-lease, MTV! How dumb to you think I am?

Another hilarious recap of another inane episode of LB. Stephen looked so pathetic. Are there no hot girls in college? He needs to go back to the easy pickings of LC if he can't find any in the City by the Bay. Alex v. Casey? A draw. At least Casey stood her ground and didn't pull a Jessica style "I'm a slut." I would hate to meet Alex in a dark alley if she had a score to settle with me. She's definitely a chick with a d-ck, and the hormones are wearing off!

It's official: Kristin is the P-I-M-P of the year! I loved how she just kept rolling her eyes and giving Stephen the one-word answer routine. And she did not sleep with Steven or even give him so much as a peek on the cheek, or act oh-so-grateful because Stephen flew her up for the weekend. Her whole attitude was like "yeah...and?" Love that-hell I was was taking notes, and I'm 33 years old! How this chick has so much game at her young age is just amazing.

This episode also made me think a lot less of Stephen. He didn't seem as cute, and he was actually kind of lame and like begging for Kristin's attention. Then when we didn't get his way, he was rude, like, throw my garbage away and give me back my shirt.

I also loved the "stinky cooch" rumor that Miss Weavy spread and the extremely delicate way that Alex put it-saying it was a hygiene problem. The sad part is with Alex's mannish self, it's probably true.

Upon graduation and turning eighteen, Jessica should run straight from the beach in that exact swimsuit and into the Playboy offices. As a straight woman, even I was looking at the knockers, like DAMN!

In Stephen's defense, why did Kristen fly up there for the weekend? Why? If you were in his shoes, wouldn't you be expecting more than a sh*tty attitude? Of course, this is what happens when the show's producers take a more active role in things. They need to maintain the illusion of a love triangle as long as possible.

It was pretty mean for Kristen to go up there when she wants nothing to do with Stephen. This would be a good time for him to move on and try a relationship with LC.

I agree with J that show keeps getting worse, but I can't stop watching. I assume most other people here feel the same way. Ok, Casey and LC's friendship came out of nowhere and Casey was annoying the whole episode as usual. I was shocked that Casey apologized, but I wasn't surprised at all that Alex ignored the apology and turned it into a reason to hate Casey more. Alex loses the argument just because she went back and started gossip by taking Casey’s comment out of context. Of course, this could just be the wonderful editing on the show, but I wouldn’t be surprised if that was actually the way Alex told the story. The fact that you can see a lot of the back of Taylor's chair and barely any of Alex's pretty much says everything about Alex’s size. There’s no need to make tons of fat jokes. Alex didn’t look that big to me in the other episodes, but I might have just missed it.

Jessica's boobs bouncing in slow motion, Baywatch style, was a very classy thing for the producers to add in the episode. They know how to attract the young guys who aren't already suckered into watching by their girlfriends.

Kristin makes me laugh every episode. The fact that she's so nonchalant about saying that she gets guys by being a butch is very funny for some reason. Kristin's battle with the seagull was absolutely hilarious, even if it wasn’t as random as Jessica’s boob shot. To everyone that's confused why Kristin went to see Stephen when she's not really interested, even she admitted during the intro that it was very dumb for her to do it. I'm not saying that Kristin gave an actual reason for going, just that she realizes it was a mistake to go. I was actually proud of her telling Stephen that she doesn't want to be treated like his girlfriend anymore. This may be the first time ever that she didn't keep leading a guy on. Bravo Kristin, although you're still dragging Talan along. If Talan was halfway intelligent, he would have just gone for his long-time L-U-V, Taylor, even if she’s not as easy as Kristin. Of course it’s not entertaining to have someone on an MTV act reasonable so I’m not getting my hopes up. Isn't the guy that Kristin hooks up with next episode Sam, who she was ogling in Cabo? I'm not saying that it's right for Kristin to go after a guy that the annoying but ample chested Jessica likes, but it does seem like she's had her eye on that "prize" for a while. Don’t take that as me saying that Kristin should get Sam because she saw him first. I’m just trying to figure out how long Jessica and Kristin have been interested in Sam, which is quite a challenge due to the editing of the show.

Why does every set of comments have to devolve into put downs and stupid arguments? Can't we all just focus on our love of the 'Guna, especially Roz? Speaking of Roz, I feel bad her being stuck with sidekick status and no one to keep her company but her master and her tiny dog. This concludes my one really long comment for the week.

I don't think the show is getting worse - I think it's getting exposed, pun intended. Last season, people who were born before 1986 quietly watched the show and the kids weren't in pictures and at events and stuff.
Now, they have publicists and it's not as real. They're way more camera-aware than they were last season and that's not as fun, so the editing becomes more explicit...

Total change of subject: I have that green flowery shirt that Alex M. was wearing. Exact same. I am starting to like Alex M. in the sense that I think she's probably a badass for reals and say what you will but I still think that's awesome.
You have to have a little confidence to carry yourself the way Alex does; I don't think it's an act. Last year's seniors seem to know her bad side and think back: that says A LOT. Good to know I am not the only pathetic loser living vicariously through these kids on this show! As a 24 year old stay at home mom of two, I must say this world these Laguna Beach kids live in is a far cry from my northern wisconsin home!! Perhaps that is why this show has become my guilty pleasure. I know it was only six years ago, but high school sure has changed since I was there! Back in my day (couldn't resist using that phrase) you either "made out" with somebody or "had sex". There was no phrase "hooking up" to help mask whether or not you were "going all the way" or not. Now any girl who kisses a guy is a "slut" or "ho" and any guy who gets some actionis a "player". You kids are so funny these days!!! I guess by your definition my husband should be calling me a whore and I in turn can tell all my friends what a player he is! So funny. I really can identify with ol' stevo this epi. Alex is longer than everyone else? Although I have no evidence of this, Roz appears to be the tallest/longest female, but this may be an illusion because she's pretty skinny. Kristin is definitely the shortest person at around 5'2" or 5'3". I think all the other girls are average height, maybe 5'5" to 5'7". If anyone has any facts to prove me wrong, I'd be interested to see how tall everyone really is.

How do you guys know that Stephen couldn't get Kristin and went RIGHT to LC? You don't know how much time passed between then and the time he and LC hung out.

Leave Roz alone! She is the girl and she is attractive in her own way. First, she has those pretty eyes. Second, she is blond and skinny-I mean in 90% of white boy circles, those two attributes will take you pretty far. Yes, she is sorta freakishly tall. but in high school, that's always hard for a girl. Once she goes to college, and dates older guys, that won't matter. Most of us should feel "old" in a way if we are over 21 and watching this show, but it's fun to see what's it's like to be 17 these days. For most of us, our lives have changed so much from those years. We are not old, just smarter. And we definitely wouldn't act like Jessica if we could go back and do it again. The years have given us confidence and perspective not to act so silly about a boy who's obviously not interested.

Anyway I have gotten this email 3 times in the past two days - but I'm not sure if its true. Anyway...here is the text:

"Courtney and I had dinner with one of the "writers" of MTV's Laguna
Beach last night. He said that the show is real but they definitely
set up situations. Big surprise.

As most of you remember last week the gang went to Cabo. I know that
some of us thought it was weird that everyone was ignoring Jessica and
hanging with Alex M. Here is some background. Before Cabo they showed
Jessica meeting Jason at the golf course. They hung out all day and
later that night they went to a party at Talan's house. Talan was
trying to pull a fast one and not invite the MTV producers to the
party. At the party (while Jason is supposedly still dating Alex M)
one of Alex M's friends walked in on Jessica giving Jason head in the
bathroom. The friend that walked in immediately called Alex M and tell
her. Alex M and Taylor jump into Taylor's car to go kick Jessica's ass
but get pulled over by the cops. Instead of playing it cool Taylor
throws the fake id she has in her wallet into the back seat. The cops
get suspicious and ask her what it was, do a search of the car, find
the fake id, interrogate Alex M and get her to admit she has a fake id
too. Cuff both of them and take them down to the station where MTV has
to bail them out. So in one night Alex M found out that her boyfriend
is a cheater and gets arrested.

The next day Kristen and her sidekick (I think that her name is Alex
too?) anyway, they ask Jessica if she hooked with Jason and she
totally denies everything. They later find out that she lied and
that's why they are upset with her in Cabo.

LC and Jason are currently f'ing. Apparently Jason is a total moron
(another big surprise) but he gets any girl super sprung. He failed
out of senior year of high school and is not working.

LC and Kristin are not enemies but also not bff. They are both trying
to become famous so they are hanging in LA.

Deter is a camera whore. Anytime the producers put together a scene he
tries to tag along to get face time.

MTV is hated around Laguna Beach. People that are not on the show are
always throwing beer cans and stuff at the cameras.

MTV is currently are working on a spin off for next season with
different characters.

Kristin is on this months 17 Magazine and also on the cover of next
month's Rolling Stone "Hot Issue". She is attending USC but has not
rushed."

Anyway...i think roz is pretty!! and LC is so not as stylish as she claims to be...she needs to get a funkier hairstyle.

I forgot to add to my comment a few days ago but ok MTV loves to add little name tags on people. How come they didn't name the bird or add a little name tag to it calling it "a seagull"? That woulda made the show so much better. DAMN YOU MTV!

I am shocked as to how Jason could get any girl. He cant even put together a whole sentence. He comes off as being an absolute idiot.

I think someone else mentioned this before in a post, but since it was a good description, it bears mentioning again. "Hooking up" is a purposely vaugue term that can mean anything from meeting someone for a date (anybody see that show on ABC this summer called "Hooking Up"?) to meaning...well...f*cking. I think when the LB cast is talking about "hooking up", they are talking about having sex, because of the casual way that boys spend the night at girls' houses, the way the go on honeymoon-level vacations with boys, etc.
I think we "older" people like watching this show so much because the amount of freedom and cash that the LB crew is allowed is amazing to us, and we wonder what we would have done at that age with the same set-up and opportunities.

I just wrote my first post about the last episode and wrote how i felt guilty watching the show and really enjoying it! I had my first baby at 22 and second at 24.It DOES make you feel old to be in your mid twenties when your repsonsibilites involve raising the next American generation. But being a mom so young doesn't make you let go of your youthful side, at least not mine. As bad as it sounds, I still have a 17 year old girl living inside of me that loves Laguna Beach and feels all nostalgic and whatnot when I watch it. So your definitely not alone, there's at least one other like you!

I didn't watch this week's show, but someone asked why people, namely Jessica and Casey, were so eager to keep Alex's friendship. It is so obvious. Alex has the biggest penis in Laguna and Jess and Casey want a piece of that action.

I think a lot of kids in the LB kids' demographic have the same mentality, but the difference is that the LB kids have their parents' money to finance and further exacerbate their irrational (at times) behavior. Thanks 25and2babies!! I kept feeling like was under attack here. I was starting to wonder if I was totally out of place here so it's good to know there are other people my age and in my situation who are in love with this damn show! I love watching these kids!! There is no way I would have wanted my high school life depicted on tv! These kids have some balls I must say! (some more than others! ;)) I guess having their 15 mintues of fame probably makes it all worth it though. I cannot stand Jessica after the Cabo episode. I liked her and was even on her side when Jason was treating her like shit up until the Cabo episode where she totally let Alex make an ass out of her. Next episode Kristin hooks up with SAM you know, the one that was skim boarding on the Cabo episode? When they showed his name on the screen it said SAM (KRISITN’S CRUSH) thus, Jessica has no reason to whine when obviously Kristin called dibbs on him first.

Also, next episode Stephen announces that he is moving back. Do I smell a third season? I sure hope so. I love this show.

I can't believe how many people support what Alex did to Jessica... they weren't even depicted as "friends" so why would Alex really expect Jessica to NOT keep after Jason? THEY WEREN'T FRIENDS!

Since "hooking up" has been prevalent in so many of these posts, has anyone given much thought to a potential hook-up (whatever it entails) between Jason and Casey? Based on my own observations, they seem to be pretty compatible.

Both are self-obsessed and neither seems to be the sharpest knife in the drawer. I don't think either one would ever outsmart the other, or run the risk of saying something so immensely profound that it would just sail over the other one’s clueless, air-filled head.

Maybe they just appear dumb because of how the show is edited, but that’s all I have to go on when forming an opinion of these two. They could even have their own conjoined name…Jasey.

Anyway, it’s just a thought.

Come to think of it, I’ve never seen any of those kids crack open a book. I guess bookworms wouldn’t make for scintillating TV viewing. Instead we get to see Kristen giving Stephen the cold shoulder, LC continuing to pine over Stephen, Talan wanting to get something started with Kristen, Alex being accused of poor hygiene (not sure how Casey would even know that unless Alex herself confided about some “condition� she has), Jessica drooling over Jason (hopefully not for much longer!) and all of the sub-players standing in the shadows of their “masters.�

Ok, I checked out Casey's Web site posted by Guna Watcher. She does look better. A lot more natural. On the show, there is just something wrong with her, like her chin or something. Maybe her voice is so annoying and her personality so vapid that she just isn't as attractive in "real life."

I agree with you Dorkette - Casey does come off looking more waxy (or dare I say it, plastic-like) on the show than she does in her still photos on the web site. But as you stated, watching her on the show and seeing the whole "Casey package," which includes her nasal-baby voice, may influence our overall opinion of her. I mean come on, regardless of one's opinion of Alex, love her or hate her, Casey was supposed to have been her friend and she betrayed her (still don’t know how she knew about the “hygiene� problem but I missed the Cabo episode).

So if you factor in Casey’s backstabbing along with that nasal-baby sound coming out of her pie-hole, you can certainly make a case for ugliness regardless of her looks.

Yep Dorkette, that's where she really loses points. Her phoniness is not limited to her weave, bronzed skin, acrylic nails, white-capped teeth and who knows what else.

Do you recall the episode when a group of them were in Casey's bedroom and she requested quesadillas from her housekeeper, Imelda? I think it was Casey who asked Alex and Jason if they were officially a couple and when they confirmed that, yes they were now together, Casey nearly over-reacted with glee. Her excitement seemed too over-the-top to be genuine. It may have only been me, but rather than it coming across as one friend being happy for another, I took it as jealousy.

However, even then, I reserved passing judgment on her until she badmouthed Alex. At that point, my suspicions about her were confirmed. She was not a loyal friend, but rather a mean, vindictive, nasal-baby- voiced, jealous wax figurine.

I don’t know if Kristen’s show-opening narrations were recorded as each event happened or if they were taped once all of the episodes were completed, but it sure seemed that she was right on the money about Casey not being a very trustworthy person.

I just want to say all you people making comments about Alex being big. She does has a big frame but far from fat. Also it's a know fact that good looking people aren't that picky only ugly people have to find things wrong with other people to bring them dowm to their levels. I watch this show all the time and I can say that Alex is a 7.2 and "Roz" is a 7 she has pretty eyes.

I agree it seemed weird that they were all just hanging out in Cabo and now they are back to disliking one another.

I think Alex was telling Jessica that Jeff liked her to discourage her from hooking back up with Jason.

I think that the term hooking up is vague to keep you guessing about what it really means. It is a way of letting you know that something is happening without dispelling too much information about your personal life. You never know when your parent might be tuning in right?

Hectic schedule!

My day is almost complete now that I know B-Side is presently working on the recap. I have been checking in like every couple of hours (okay maybe every hour but who's counting?) to see if there was a recap or not....I can hardly wait!! Yay!!

Based on B-Side's previous recaps (and commentary!), I have a feeling it will be well worth the wait. Keep up the great work B-Side! Your thorough and detail-oriented LB installments are very entertaining to read…and of course the rest of us just love to put in our own two cents after learning your take on things. You most definitely keep it interesting and help to create a forum for intelligent conversation (and at times, some lighthearted debate)!

B-Side, any idea when you'll post?? No pressure.

There are a few things I know for sure. (1) Jessica has a great rack. (2) Stephen is in college and should be getting laid every day, not pining for his stuck up HS girlfriend. (3) Alex needs to learn to take better care of her cooch. Rumours are hurtful but this one isn't unfounded.
