Tonight was one of the most enchanting nights of television EVER. No, they didn't show a rerun of, and Oprah's Legends Ball, although I wish they would turn that special into a documentary. It was the night of the 2006 MTV Movie Awards and TVgasm was busy liveblogging the event for you. I had hoped to go on with B-side because I know the readers have been clamoring for the two founders of TVgasm to be on screen, but technical issues and fear of the apocalypse held us back. B-side was there, and so was madeyoulaugh, Katie, and our new superstar, Sugar.

Loved Xtina's performance. Did you guys get to talk to her? I know Kellie Pickler interviewed her on Leno.

Is it just me or are these awards shows awful?? I am old - but - the movie awards were so boring. The set was lame, Jessica Alba was boring, gorgeous, but boring. The skits were stupid and too long and Adam Samberg is thee most overrated and under-funny person ever - it has to end. It's all too polished and scripted and produced. It’s me – isn’t it? I am just too old. Sigh.

You may not find it airing again though. MTV wants you to go to their website and watch it again there on Overdrive. "My Movie Awards" is their stupid name for it. Just like "My VMA's" last year. I missed the VMA's and I don't think MTV ever repeated it for the same reason. So I never saw it. They used to repeat these awards shows endlessly. Instead there will just be endless commercials to watch it on Overdrive. I'd watch it on Overdrive EXCEPT YOU NEED WINDOWS XP TO USE IT! (Thanks for alienating some of your audience MTV.)

b-side: Not a bad couch-dancer, appeals to animals and used my new favorite term "For real-ezes."
myl: I like the way you purse your lips...it's cute. The Lenny impersonation NEVER gets old.

The movie awards are horrible. They are just a big two hour unfunny infommercial for summer movies. The only reason any of the stars are there is to hock their crap.
Liveblog was funny though.

I'm in the process of compressing the two hours of footage so it will play better on the internet. Our software apparently didn't add the "Quick Start" automatically, so it waits until it downloads a certain amount first, and since the file is 160 MB, it takes a long time unless you have a fast T1.

I'm on the West Coast and still let the live blog play on my computer while i watched stuff from DVR and you guys were great! Too bad the Movie Awards were boring. I couldn't even watch the whole awards show when it aired here because it was so lame, I just watch Gnarls Barkley and then Christina Aguilera's performance, which was just awesome.
Can't wait for the next Live Blog. :)
