Recap: Lost: A Faint Eko -
by EdHIll
Well, this week's Lost took me by surprise I must admit. 5 minutes in I was rolling my eyes at the prospect of another show with a 20 minute hallucinogenic dream sequence. I man I get enough of those on my real life, and at least they have hardcore nudity. Not the ones in Lost. They involve getting lost in airports and polar bears.
So I was pleasantly surprised when the show turned out to be one that moves the story along and gives us some clues. It also gives us some more of Jack playing mind games with his captors. He's come a long way from his wussy Party of Five Day's. Bust most of all, this week's show had the death of yet another major character. No one is ever safe on this show.
The show starts in flashback. 2 young men are breaking into a locked trailer and stealing food. It's Eko and Yemi. While they are eating they are caught by a nun and she drags them away to confession. When she tells Eko to ask god for forgiveness he responds by saying that he did it because Yemi was hungry. The nun won't hear of it. "Hunger does not matter". If he does not confess he wil grow hair on his palms.
Cut to the beach where Eko is unconscious and surrounded by Sayid Hurley and Charlie. Eko is bandaged up and delirious. Since Jack isn't there they leave to go tell Locke that he is back. After they leave Eko has a delirious flashback that conveniently explains his entire previous flashback story so far. After that he opens is eyes and sees his brother Yemi before him holding a lighter. He looks at Eko and says "It is time to confess. ... To be judged brother. I will be waiting. You know where to find me."
Outside of the beach hut where he is lying, Hurley, Charlie and Sayid look back and see that the hut is engulfed in flames. But if Yemi was a hallucination how did it catch on fire? They race over to try and put out the fire. Sayid has the brilliant plan of throw on tiny handfuls of sand on the huge 8 foot tall flames. Sayid needs to stick to what he knows best. Bamboo shoots up people's fingernails and stepping on testes with his boot.
After they drag Eko from the hut they lay him down on the beach where he is babbling incoherently about his brother. When Charlie walks over to talk to Locke who has just appeared he tells him that Eko is safe but when they look over, Eko is gone.
In the underground hatch jack is passing the time by doing pull ups. He is interrupted by Ben, who is dressed all in white. As if he just came from one of Diddy's Hampton parties. Good lord. Is that the secret of Lost? Are they really on an island just off the Hampton's. Hmm, well when you think about it, Plum Island research facility is right there, and the government keeps all civilians from even approaching it. My god that's it. Diddy is behind it all! I knew it! Damn you Diddy! Does this mean that Danity Kane are really the first wave of hot superhuman androids that will one day rule us all!? Actually being ruled over by hot androids doesn't really sound that bad when you think about it. I mean, they can't be worse than what we've got now. And there, you know, hot.
Ben tells him he wants him to go for a walk. When Jack says "You say that like you're not gonna just throw a bag over my head and drag me out of here if I say no." Ben just smiles and says "Then don't say no." But Jack isn't done. He then says something that wipes that little smirk off Ben's face.
Does it hurt?" Jack asks. Ben just looks at him. "You're neck, does it hurt. Any numbness in your fingers and toes. Like pins and needles when your foot falls asleep, but permanent." When he says that a look of panic and confusion crosses Bens face. HA! I love the new Jack.

Did I just hear a bell ring? Cuz someone just got schooled.
