Back the studio, the guys are making a demo for a song cheesily titled "Touched by an Angel." It's slow. And weird. And bad. Robert says it's different from normal Day26, but they're giving it a go. Not all the songs they'll record will make the album. But whether they love or hate them, they have to give it their best. It's sappy and awful. And weird. And bad. I can hardly stand it. You know who else can't stand it? Que. So he goes in the studio and sings a "hot note," which means that it's bad. I know a lot about music. (RE: I watch a lot of "American Idol.") He says he's not voicing his opinion, and it's eating him up. Will says Que brings everyone down. Que has officially been touched by the poison that is Puffy. I give him 48-hours to live. 48-hours that are punctuated with projectile vomit, dry heaving, and the shits. Again with the bathroom humor... Next week's recap will just be a podcast of fart noises.
The guys head home and listen to some beats. They have a lot of material and a lot of connections feeding them different stuff. Brian and Will are drawn to slower stuff, and Que doesn't like it. He tries to play a faster song, but Brian and Will ignore him. I wonder what Robert and Big Butter are doing? Robert is probably hat shopping, and Big Butter is most likely staring blankly at the wall. Brian and Will say they like doing all the work because they don't want "too many chefs in the kitchen."

The next day, the guys head to record another demo called "One Night Stand." It's another ballad. And "really sexy." I put that in quotes because that is what Brian says. But I have yet to see any proof. Of course, Que hates it. He says that Will and Brian head everything and take it over and do what they want. Que is quiet and frustrated. Will says it's obvious that Que doesn't want to be there, and it hurts him. Everyone else seems to be getting along. But Que is waiting. Waiting. WAiting. And waiting. waiting. waiting. And not getting a part, so he leaves. Will says they should just record the whole song without him.

Will complains to Big Butter about Que having too many issues. In usual Big Butter style, he does not react. Que meets Dawn back at the house. He says that he doesn't like the way everyone is taking over and leaving him with nothing to sing. It's not a group thing, it's people giving themselves positions. Dawn says that she understands, but he should be there. The guys are winning because he left. And Que doesn't know what they're doing while he's not there. But if he's at least present, then he always has a voice. Puff wouldn't allow a whole record with just one person on it anyway. But if he's not there, showing that he cares, then why put him on the record. Dawn says that on their first album, Shannon was only on one song, but she was present and didn't complain. On the second album, Shannon was on every song.

Dawn, in her infinite wisdom continues: Not everyone likes a strong personality, but everyone likes a hard worker. Que seems to understand. He heads back to the studio. Robert asks where he was, and then tells him he needs to sing the first verse. Que goes to record and again is "hot." Hot, again, in a bad way. Thank you Randy Jackson, for my music literacy! The rest of the guys do not approve. Joe Chuck says that someone needs to guide Que and tell him what he's doing right or wrong. The guys say he needs to be sexier and tell him to stop. Que says that he's trying to feel it out. Will chomps on his gum and ignores him. Que tries it again, and again it's bad. Will tells Brian that if Que doesn't start singing sexy, then he's going to kick him off the song. Que keeps trying to sing it, and it continues to be unsexy. Que continues to try, and he guys act annoyed. If they want Que to take a lesson on being unsexy, then they should make him watch Brillo listlessly remove his shirt. Also unsexy: Will chomping on his gum like he's a camel chewing on cud.

OMG. I've been waiting for this recap so that I could post a comment. I haven't watched the show from last night yet, but I want to comment on this recap. I've actually watched this episode 4 times trying to be clear on my position. What is up with Que? I don't know if it's his age or what, but he has really been buggin' out. I don't see how a strong woman like Dawn puts up with his childish ways. Has anyone noticed in the past couple of episodes, he's had somewhat femanine tendencies? He wears me out. I adore the rest of the group, but I'm done with Que. He certainly needs the t-shirt. I'm not mad at Will or Brian for their initiative. I can't wait for the album. Okay, I got a little long-winded, but Que has worked my LAST NERVE. What do yall think? Also, great recap.

Que is showing signs of a drug user. Sad, happy, angry, down up just crazy. Dawn is also giving him bad advice. He's is such a child and extremly disappointing because I thought he was a good kid. Now he's selfish & spoiled. He'll learn that the world does not revole about him and he should appreicate his blessings.
One Word: Ungrateful.

Que seemed really nice before this season but now I don't know WTF is going on with him? All he does is bitch about everything and try and fight ppl at least 10 times bigger than him meaning Will. Que if your going to lash out at someone, don't do it to Will the dude could seriously crush u with his thumb. Look Que your life may suck at home, but you still work at major record label even though its Bad Boy, you still get paid more than most of us and your famous, wtf are u mad about? Serious question - how are their real fans going to feel about Que when their album comes out and how is that going to affect them as a whole?
Another serious question, I'm just getting all deep into this - once this show ends and they don't want to feature Day26 anymore on it how will Day26 even survive - this group isn't even half promoted outside the show? So many questions, so little time and what the hell are Dawn and Aundrea doing, they're just sitting around waiting for some shit to happen regarding their careers, anyway great recap!!!

Miss FoxyFoxy, great observation. Maybe he's bipolar. His highs and lows are consistent with rapid cycling. Hell, I don't know. I DO know he's young and under a lot of pressure, but DAMN!!!! You nailed it, UNGRATEFUL. One other thing: He's always saying Will is jealous. OF WHAT? Will has a better voice and the FINEST one in the group, in my opinion.

I used to think Robert was the one who did not know when to shut up but he has nothing on Que.
Que's problem is more than just the stress of getting money for his Mom and siblings which is part of his stress. I agree with the may or may not be bipolar Dx but for sure he is insecure with his always feeling the older married guys are trying to clown him which has him flipping back and forth between always looking for a fight or else pouting like a 2 year old. I like Dawn when she is with DK but with nothing to do she is turning into Yoko Ono because she is request of Que's problem.
Que is also delusional on 2 points. 1st he thinks Will is jealous of him and 2nd he thinks he could take Will in a fight. I just don't know where that "I feel I'm being tested comes from". I could see guy still stuck in the hood or military stuck feeling like that but he is on MTV, in a rented house, in NY and has a dozen ugly hats to keep his big baby head warm. He should be thankful, grateful and enjoy this ride before it ends. Instead he is trying to self-destruct.

I mean Dawn is the rest of Que's problem.

that was what came to my mind, that Que was bipolar or getting to be schizophrenic; he seems extremely paranoid and he's talking in a strange way, very odd and sad b/c he was so great in the beginning i guess something got a hold of him that is probably hard for him to control...

Wow! You guys are really fired up about about Que being a freakazoid! I love it!
Anyway, the same thing came to my mind: Why would Will be jealous of Que?! Will is hot, has an awesome voice, a great body, a hot wife, an adorable kid...need I say more?
I think that Que is just EXTREMELY immature and lacks perspective. And it was hilarious the way he tried to act like Mike and Robert were on his side!

In sum, Que is a loser-child. He needs to grow the heck up and learn to appreciate what he has. I have been asking for WEEKS what Will could POSSIBLY be jealous of? Maybe Que's just mis-speaking. Maybe he means to say, "I'M jealous of WILL!" But he keeps saying it backwards. hahahaa!

I don't usually post to websites, but I just can't help myself. I'm really curious as to the actual timing of the taping of these episodes. I do agree that Dawn is a part of Que's problem. Although she has given him some good advice, she also contributes to his poor decision making. Que is in dance class because of HER! While I'm excited about the new album, I'm so afraid these episodes will turn fans away and stifle record sales.
