Sway focuses on Dawn first and says she gave a lot of advice to Day26 that kept them together. She says she felt like she was the "oracle." And she enjoyed sharing the journey with the boys. Sway asks why Shannon didn't want to team up with Dawn and Aundrea. She says that she felt like her personal journey was to be at home for her marriage and her soul. It had nothing to do with the fans or the other girls.
"And I finally wanted to be in control of my own hair color."
Now onto D.Woods. Why did DK split, Sway ponders? She says it's a complicated answer. But it was something that started from the day they were chosen. They were put together on a foundation that wasn't sound because a lot of professional things were out of order and then the personal things were out of wack. Make sense? No? Too bad! Moving on! What? Did you really expect to actually get ANSWERS during this question and ANSWER episode???
1987 Whitney Houston "I Wanna Dance with Somebody" hair.
When Sway calls on Orangebrey, she stands up, spins around and skips around. Sway says she needs to sit down, and I love it! Then he says a lot of people blamed her for the breakup. She says that the show taught them how to survive. And after she was kicked out, she realized that she has to fight to stay happy, which requires forgiving herself, so she has let it all go. So I think she is kind of admitting that it was her fault? But she forgives herself for being a Yoko Ono? Is that how everyone else understood that comment?
Sway now wants to know who's taking accountability for the breakup. D.Woods says that the problems started so early on and everyone was always in competition mode. Dawn says they had different agendas. That when people weren't happy, so they went to do other things. She says that Orangebrey went on Broadway, but they all supported her. Orange interjects, saying that D.Woods was the only one who came to see her, so she was the only one who supported her. Oh snap! That riles up Dawn who says they couldn't see her shows because they had to go perform.
"I would have had more time to support you, had I been UNEMPLOYED too!"
Diddy comes out. He hugs Dawn and Shannon, but not the other two. He says that "Making the Band" is a once in a lifetime opportunity, and nothing is perfect. But whatever was going through with them, it didn't work out. And he never got the reason out of them about what was causing the problems. But some positive things have come out of it, the world got to meet "beautiful young ladies" with bright futures. Oh, and they made him lots of money. Can't forget that. Shannon says it's been an amazing experience and they don't take it for granted. Then she thanks Diddy for the opportunity. Diddy says that they will realize during their solo projects that drama exists everywhere. Then he says he loves the girls and loved working with them.
Another Day26 performance. They sit in chairs and sing a slow song. I take this opportunity to check my Facebook. WHOA! What's that? Big Butter is just BELTING it out! Nice to see him shine for once.
We come back and Diddy is plugging his Twitter. He's been doing this almost every week, but I've been leaving it out of the recaps. Who really needs to follow his Twitter? I mean, do we really need to know that he went for a Starbucks at 10:15 a.m. and updated that from the Tweetdeck? I didn't think so.
Irony.
Sway asks if DK would ever get back together. Orangie says absolutely if everything could work itself out. D.Woods says they had a lot of success but it's time for a new chapter. She's working on a solo project and wants support for that. Shannon says not at this point in time but maybe one day. Diddy says that everyone needs a time out, but there will never be another DK unless it's the same girls. But he is doing a new show looking for a new girl group. Quelle surprise. And everyone is out of their contracts, so they can go pursue their own things. How generous of him. The camera pans to Dawn who gives a shy smile.

Apparently Aubrey is the new bachelorette for "A Shot At Love" on MTV. Always classy!

serjen,
On MTV.com, Aubrey said she turned down to be on "A Shot of Love" but she'll be doing a diff reality show & I'm definately watching.
Diddy is more at fault at this group not being together than Aubrey. Diddy f***ed up the group, broke them up, and then blamed all their problems on the girls.
I swear they never actually say anything in these finales - we always have read between the lines to find out what the hell's going on. Sadly, I don't think there's going to be another Danity Kane & I'm not interested in seeing Diddy make another got damn group. I am officially on Team Aubrey!!!

MandaMo,
You've done a great job recapping this season -with Que fighting everybody due to his constant drug use, I mean "dance rehearsal", the wtf is going on with Danity Kane saga, and the triumph of Donnie. Well I don't know if it's a triumph yet but we'll still rooting for u Donnie.
Luv Ya MandoMo and hope ur back next season cause u know this TV show is the only thing keeping Day26 and Donnie alive. lol

Great recap. I've been waiting for this one. I really don't think Diddy is the sole reason for the break up. Aubrey is so full of herself 'til I have half of a gag. I think egos played a major factor in this whole saga. I love the new Day 26 album. The intro is CRAZY. I just hate the excess talking during the songs versus lyrics. I will miss you MandaMo. It's been a great ride!!!!!

MandaMo, I will miss this show and your awesome take on it... until next season. I, for one, am extremely happy to hear that Orangebrey turned down being on "Shot At Love", that show is a window into hell... much like this one is, but at least you get to hear some music once in a while. Thanks for helping to sort through all the mumbled, jumbled, unclear, mushmouthed dialogue this show is plagued with.
love to you!
love, J-Mo :)
