Just a Case of History Repeating -

Because of the Olympics on NBC and some mild success with Reality Shows such as Meet My New Mommy and Renovate My Family, FOX delayed showing a new episode of North Shore until Labor Day. The show has been up and down, but there has been enough T and A for me to at least feign a mild interest in the show. It's also one of the best places to catch the latest preview of The OC, which is reason enough to catch the show. Continuing with the theme of "If it's good enough for the OC, we can do it in Waikiki"(i just made that up myself), the writers decided to add an arson to the world of North Shore to add a little drama, and some near-death experience. What's better is that the writers decided on a story line that doesn't force characters to stretch their marginal acting talent through inconceivable circumstances. Will it be enough to keep the North Shore on the air? Hey, it's not like this show is on ABC, there is always hope.
Jason's father is recovering in the hospital, and of course Jason is trying to figure out how Walter Booth was involved. Yes, some may wonder why a billionaire has to burn an old surf shack in order to prevent his daughter from marrying a kid who he disapproves. Doesn't the guy have enough money for a decent hit man? Hawaii seems full of venues where you could fake an accident, from freak surf accident to accidental fall into a live volcano. Maybe he wants to make it a slow death. Anyway, as you may imagine, Nicole is not having any of Jason's reasoning, although we get a sense that she secretly agrees that her father is all too capable of pulling such things off. She ends up asking her dad, who denies everything like a guilty man should. Brooke Burke managed to look as if she actually had emotion in her face, which made me want to stick through this episode without hitting the Tivo fast forward.
