So everyone lines up for the Colonel like before, and he announces that they will find out who's behind this. Susan calls, wondering if Linc is going to tell her what the hell's going on. He tells her Whistler and Michael are with him, but even as he says it he winces like he knows it was a really dumb thing to do. Naturally she asks to talk to Whistler, but Linc ad libs that he's in the trunk, so unless she wants him to pull over and attract law enforcement officials she should just let him drive. Hey, nice one, Linc! That'll hold her for a few minutes till she gets all stabby again.

The Colonel announces that the assault on Sleepy Guard warrants the death penalty, and the escape was attempted from a cell belonging to Lechero's men. He finds one of them and asks if it's his cell. The guy glances at Sammy and has about 6 seconds to say absolutely nothing before the Colonel just unceremoniously shoots him in the gut. Oh, but he's not done. He chews Lechero out, loudly, in front of everyone who's supposed to fear and obey him. He reveals some things about Lechero's management style that the prisoners do not find amusing, for example, that it was Lechero who ordered the phone lines cut. The Colonel essentially hands Lechero his balls on a platter in front of God and everyone, is what I'm trying to say. You want that Original Recipe or Extra Crispy, bitch?

Sammy tells a shellshocked Lechero that none of them tried to break out of that cell, and that he must know there's only one smartypants in there who'd even try. They both glance over at Michael, who's all, doot dee doo, just gonna blend in with the crowd, la la la.

Mahone is back in a suit, and while a suit cannot undo the damage done by a week in a nightmarish Taco Hell - not to mention withdrawal from two different drugs now - it's certainly an improvement. Sullins still hasn't come through, but Lang assures him he's working on it, and also, about all those guys you killed: you wanna talk about your feelings? Mahone freaks out. So that's what this is. Sullins sends her in to be Good Cop - there never was a deal in the first place. She swears the deal is legit, but he goads her to come clean, and she's all "oh yeah? Well you're a junkie! So there!"

Company guy confirms to Susan that the perimeter is secure, no one got out. She slams her phone shut and gets the van ready to leave. Sucre tells Linc it looks like they're packing up, and he says "whatever you do, don't let them take LJ!" Sucre makes kind of a "bitch please!" face, because what the hell is he supposed to do, distract them with a tapdance routine or something? Turns out he's got a way better idea. Linc screeches up to the rendezvous point a few seconds after Susan et al speed away, and we see her van going really fast down the curvy jungle roads when suddenly a conveniently placed car - or inconveniently I guess, if you're Susan - appears in the middle of the road. It's Sucre, and the van slams right into it. Cool!

I'm guessing Panamanian cars don't have standard side airbags.

Linc drives up to find Sucre unconscious at the wheel and Susan stumbling out of the passenger seat of the van. He walks up to her and awesomely just sucker punches the hell out of her before she can even stand up straight. He shoots her bodyguards but apparently there was one Sucre didn't see. He comes out holding LJ at gunpoint. Linc is screaming for him to let him go, now, or she dies. Susan, in her familiar bored-sounding delivery, says that they know going in it's probably going to end that way, and he should probably go ahead and let Linc shoot her. "It doesn't matter what you do. The operation failed." She instructs the guard to kill LJ, and Linc finally just breaks. He throws Susan aside and does a very effective bellowing "NOOO!" He begs her to let him find out what happened, to talk to Michael. He can get Whistler. There's still time, after all. They put LJ in the van and drive off, Leaving Linc shattered and alone in the middle of the road. Sucre's okay, but Linc notices Susan's crew left their body bags behind. Not a great sign, and again, not the best secret conspiracy strategy.

Firthguy:

Great recap.

It was probably better than the double-feature itself.

"Whistler approaches Michael in the bathroom. No, not like that." - Classic!

mamabird:

This is the first episode since season 1 (with the notable exception of S3 premiere) that I was literally on the edge of my seat with my heart in my throat. Watching the first season, every episode started with me on the couch and ended with me 2 feet from the TV alternately holding my breath and screaming at the TV. What a great buildup to last nights fall finale.

And although Michael got his "moment" aka Skid Row Power Ballad Emoting; Wade Williams was totally MVP this week. I am embarrased to admit that I actually teared up when he said I can't even kill myself; which was compounded by my memory of the scene in which he did not, in fact, kill himself. So utterly fantastic.

Now about that Skid Row Power Ballad Emoting; OMG I swear you are in my head Loula. That is EXACTLY what I thought when I was watching (er, wincing)....Which is so weird b/c Sebastian Bach was one of my first crazy famous person crush. Could have been so much better. But the genuis Chicken Foot Throwdown move afterwards made me forgive them.

And Whistler and Snoozin/Rethcin...WTF is that? Can't wait to see what happens and where they are taking Michael.....Again, they better not kill him!

Oh and how awesome was that helicopter scene? Terrible editing and somehow I found it rather hysterical. But it was pretty ballsy move....

Thanks for doing it all in one shot. Know it must have taken much longer but you did it! So, till next week.

blahblah:

"Turns out what he found in the yard was a cigar butt - Antonio, his man on the outside, used to give them to him as tribute and now he reeks of them. Ponytail guy looks up at Sammy, who gave him the cigars in the first place, but Sammy fails to leap to his defense. I don't really get what the problem was, but the end result is that Lechero has a body to string up and Whistler goes free."

Ponytail guy looked up at Sammy because Sammy gave Ponytail guy the cigars - meaning, Sammy probably killed Tyge (he has a name?).
