Murder Was The Case -
by J-Unit
There has been a lot of critical praise for Prison Break, and a friend of mine inside FOX says that the pilot has tested better than anything in recent memory. Does any of that translate into a good program over the course of a full season? Was my friend simply trying to make light conversation after not calling or e-mailing in over a year? Was I not paying attention as I perused the produce section of Rock and Roll Ralph's in search of mushrooms? The answers to these questions may never be known, but we still think that Prison Break will be Tivo-worthy, and suggest you check it out. One answer we can give is that TVgasm will, in fact, be covering the show this season.
And look for the TVgasm Fall Preview Spectacular later this week. It may not actually be spectacular, but I thought the phrase had a certain ring to it, and I wanted to see if anybody was paying attention by adding a non-sequitur. Whatever, Prison Break airs tonight for two hours on FOX at 8PM Eastern and Pacific, then nestles into the Mondays at 9PM time slot thereafter.

It's the Ralph's on Sunset/Pointsettia near the Guitar Center in West Hollywood.

Glad you will be covering this show. As hooked as I am on reality, this series looks mighty intriguing. Guess after the 2 hour debut tonight we will be able to determine if this series is really worth watching. On second thought, I'll probably only watch it if you guys recap it. I think that might explain my reality addiction...

When watching this show I couldn't help but think that it was much better when it was called Oz and was on HBO. I'm just saying.

No prison show will ever top "Oz." Penis in boxes, disappeared inmates carved up and served for lunchmeat, spooning, acid in the guard's eyes, the escalating murders of inmates' childrens, defecating on your enemy's face and that time Crazy!Beecher bit off the tip of Robson's stuff. Plus, Adebisi.
I found a number of things ridiculously implausible. Sure, I watch too many prison documentaries, but I'm saying. People a month from execution do not go to work. They don't mix with the gen pop - ever! The tattoo is insanity. And if the trailer for future eps meant what I thought...Lady J don't her love her brother nearly that much.

Its not meant to be plausible just an entertaining and suspensefull story..I thought it was good

I don't even have basic cable, so this is the best prison show I have ever seen! I thought it was really good.

I thought it was just okay. I will continue to watch - for now. Can't see how they can go past 1 season unless they (the brothers) break out of the prison and get caught.
I was intrigued by the mystery of the phone call the to lady making dinner who told the Secret Service guy to take care of the lawyer lady. Very "24".

I liked it. Robin Tunney is as cute as a button. She does not look like she's in her 30s.

Lady J -
You must be joking! You love Oz but complain that Prison Break is implausible? There wasn't a single storyline in Oz that was remotely plausible. Who cares? Its only TV! I'm now a big fan of both!

I wasn't comparing them on that basis. I cited several examples of how "Oz" was over the top in every way.
Would you people get real? How does a person watch television and not consider what they're viewing? Did I ask them to tweak the show? No. I simply pointed out what is downright silly. I could have mentioned what I liked but someone else is going to say it anyway.
This is how I do. Get over it.

I thought it was very entertaining. Sure there were things that made no sense, such as how he could count on being sent to that prison, how all coincidences could line up perfectly for his purposes, and why he needed to compare the bolt to his tattoo when he could have just stuck it in the hole next to him to check the size. But we suspend disbelief all the time for enjoyable shows and movies.

I kelly Prison Break! It was fun, entertaining, unique, and well paced...aside from having great eye candy in the two leading men as well. I think it'll be fun to watch these pieces of the puzzle come together, like the map on his chest. Wentmorth is my new jack bauer (ok, not really, but just until jack comes back with a hobbit next season).

Prison Break was just the break I needed from all the reality shows I watch.(Totally hooked) I thought the 2 hour premier was very good. I did hear it was just a 6 episode show..anyone know if this is true or not??
Thanks.

Loved it... just waiting for the Arab/Muslim gang to roll out Darwhan and his H-Bomb. Seriously, not a bad show, like 24, same style, look. And a magazine in a sewer will be the key to it all !!!

Did anyone else think the future trailers implied he gets raped along the way? Is it wrong if I don't love my brother enough for that?
Posted by: Lady J | August 30, 2005 11:19 AM(#16 of 17)
Plumes,
the show originally was only supposed to be for a few episodes as a filler before 24 comes back in January, but if the show is a hit, which for now it is, they'll drag it along in a different time period in january probably. Maybe Behrooz will show up!
