Tim likes the plaid silk jacket Christian's made, but he warns that matching up the plaid symmetrically in the center but not on the shoulders and sleeves is unwise. Christian, knowing very well how to play the reality game, answers that it's supposed to be like that and rolls his eyes like Tim's just too old and out of touch to not get asymmetrical plaid jackets. Duh, geezer. I feel like I'm not supposed to like Christian, but I really do.
This kid's one jagged little pill.
The boring blonde girl isn't even close to finishing, and it worries Tim. She says she lost her vision but got it back and is ready to go! I hope for her sake that the judges have lost their vision, or she's screwed. Plug in the glue gun, bland blonde. You're gonna need it. Wacko Elisa is next under the Gunn, and he doesn't put his face in his hands until she turns around her dress form to reveal the poorly stitched wads of hacked up silks nesting in the bottom of the dress. He asks if it's even possible to make the dress walkable, and she says kinda and smiles from ear to ear. Changing tactics, Tim suggests she hasn't gone far enough. From the look on her face, that's the first time anyone's ever uttered those words to Elisa.
Alright, who disemboweled the Care Bear?
Tim tells them to carry on and lets them work. Elisa considers listening to his advice, but ultimately decides that she wants to create what she wants to create and she's not changing for anybody! Besides. She needs a nap. Ok, if this bitch actually leaves to take a nap I swear I'll...she's sleeping! Just like that! This ep is over, as far as I'm concerned. You snooze you lose. That's one of my Meemaw's rules, and Meemaw's rules don't get broken. You ignored Tim Gunn and you slept. Bye, crazy face. I was looking forward to at least three fun filled episodes with you. Single tear.
The next morning, the designers meet this season's models. The girls are mostly pretty, as models mostly are, and they seem to be as thrilled with the designers as the designers are with them. Well, except for Elisa's model. "I'm going to have to hand measure you." The girl smiles, confused, and Elisa starts palming her body. LOLOLLL. Oh, man, this is just too rich. Christian's model loves his work, and he couldn't agree more. Spirits are high as last minute adjustments get under way. Even the blonde boring girl's in a decent mood, considering she has to sew her dress onto her model. Nothing screams romantic and historic like a bleeding pretty girl in clothes that don't fit.
Elisa is finally admitting that she has a problem, too. She considers chopping off "about five feet" of her crazy train, but then shrugs. Naaaahhh! Tim said to go even further, and the only way she could is to spill marbles all over the runway. This might be the first season we get to see a model break a bone. Cross your fingers! Christian's model is a little Pollyanna. She looks around the room in wonderment and declares that everyone's a winner. Christian rolls his eyes and elbows her in the mouth. All he can see is a bunch of hand sewn crap.
Time for the runway show! Heidi tells the designers what they'll get if they win: a hundred thousand bucks, a spread in Elle, and an opportunity to sell their products on BlueFly.com, which also provided tonight's incomparable accessories. BlueFly. And now, yay Judges! I've missed ya! Nina Garcia is back and she's looking like a woman should look after she's given birth. Like she just got out of bed and doesn't give a crap what anyone thinks because all she can hear is baby screams in her ears day and night MAKE IT STOP! Michael Kors is back from Korea looking tighter than ever. The only thing on his face that moves are his eyes, and he's starting to look like one of those creepy cat clocks you always see in movies.
The music starts pumping and the runway show begins. Elisa is up first, and her model trips all over the train. The dress is all stretch, so since the model has a bangin body, the dress looks great. But then she turns and lets it give birth to the five feet of mangled strips of silk, which she inevitably trips over. Elisa makes a face like she can't believe that just happened. Neither can I, Elisa. Neither can I.
Someone had too much silk for dinner.

Damn you Filpit, I had to spend the last few minutes cleaning my computer screen after the spit take I did because of "Dear Mexico, wear a condom. Love Flipit" I love a good so not-PC joke. This is going to be the best season ever. What with a wonderful little lesbian-man, a fabulous float build (come on, the Rose Parade has nothing on a fat man dressed as Wonder Woman), the wonderful Rami (who I loved in that "I'm too sexy video), and of course a designer who makes those skinny models poop fabric. I'm rolling on the floor with joy at the start of a new season and new recaps from the incredible Flipit. Bless you and your insightful wisdom. Now go out there and condom up Mexico.

I've been waiting soooo long for Project Runway to start again and it did not disappoint!! Loved the recap. Elisa is definitely loony-tunes. Reminds me of Andrea (think thats her name from last season with all the crazy flower things all over her garments), wait I take that back, Elisa makes her look sane. Rami's dress looked like a cross between Santino and Uli. I have a feeling that all his dresses are going to look the same. Love Chris and Christian so far. The coming attractions from next week look like someone (Jack) is having a meltdown. Can't wait!!!

It's about time someone read Mexico the riot-act, thank you Flipit.
Angela was the crazy lady from last season. It looks like Elisa is all kinds of Angela.
I was wondering when Ricky said he designed lingerie, how does a gay man know what I like to see? His dress was disappointingly modest, especially compared to the other babydoll dresses. But oh how I love them. Wait, what was I saying?
Awesome recap...

Great Recap!!!
I am so excited that PR is back on, and this cast seems just as F'd up as all the rest!
Some thoughts:
1. I think I am the only one that kinda liked Ricky's babydoll dress, I'm not fashion expert, but I thought it was super-cute!
2. Along the same lines, while I really liked Raimi, I didn't like his grey toga - it really wasn't flattering on his model..
3. Was it me, or did most of the models sort of suck at walking? Maybe they need to use the ANTM winners, they totally need jobs.
4. I was iffy on Christian too, but when he said, "don't go into the fearbox people" I immediately loved him!!
5. Finally, OMG - Michael Kors cracks me up, he looks more and more like Joan Rivers every day!
YAY for more Project Runway!

Flipit, I once binged on gabardine and threw up a gorgeous Burberry overcoat.
Thanks for the prompt and hilarious recap. Can't wait to share this season with you!

Hurray! A Flipit recap!
Whenever I see there's a new Flipit recap, I start mentally singing the Flipper theme song, and, you know substituting in the word "Flipit" for "Flipper." Is that WRONG?
Anyway, I loved the show, but the recap was even better. LOL, and all that. I think Rami is the best designer, but I didn't really like the toga. And *small voice* I didn't really think the babydoll was that bad (??). Why? 'cause I got no taste! (who cares?)
LOVED ELISE. And Christian. And the drag queen guy.
Yay! again for a new season.

Does anyone know where I can watch Project Runway online? We don't get Bravo around here for some reason.

Love this season. Waiting for some drama from Carmen and Christian. Elisa is so out there. The object of the first challenge was to show who you were. I think Elisa should've won that challenge because she really showed herself.

The only thing that makes me happier than the return of PR is that Flipit is recapping! Except that I can't go along with the Christian love, he strikes me as a pain in the ass, but that will make things interesting. And Elisa is going to be a riot, definitely this season's Vincent.
Carmelicious (post #4), I agree with you about the sucky models. I read somewhere that they aren't paid for this show, the publicity is supposed to be its own reward, so that's probably why you don't see any budding Giseles or Alek Weks strutting their stuff.

Oh Flippy, how prompt of you--is it too late to buy you that Annie wig? Anything for you, oh master of recaps! Well, I've no taste either, but I saw all kinds of fug marching down that runway . . . yeeeech!!! I thought the baby doll dress was the only one that looked wearable/marketable . . . I like shiny, and it looked very nicely constructed and the bodice was pretty . . . but that toga . . . hmmm, good thing I can seperate lust and fashion, Rami's the hot one for me, and rather graceful, less of an "all about me" than I thought, so far . . . but back to that toga . . . I wish it did have smurfs on it, then there would have been at least something interesting . . . yawn . . . they should not be awarding wins based on potential.
Overall I enjoyed the show, I'll hold out on the Lez and see what she does next time, but that was *wretch* ah *wretch* ah, ok, just not for me. Jack's looked like a Uli, esp. the neckline, and Chris' also looked like a Uli . . . maybe I'm crazy, maybe it's the crack . . . I dunno, but I do like dolls and marionettes . . .

This is aired on Bravo right? I don't get it. It was definitely not on in Canada. No idea why - we got last season. Weird..and annoying.
Thanks for the recap though! Keeps me up to date.
Ugh. Jeffrey's neck is so creepy long I am GLAD that I do not have to look at him anymore.
And P.S. John Wayne, the best tough cowboy ever had the lovely original first name of Marion. And there's also Chandler Marion Bing. So Marion is in good company.

Oops, sorry for the double post. I didn't press post more than once, I swear. I don't know what happened...

Flipit! Fantastic recap as always -- great to have you back on a show you clearly love! I'd forgotten how dangerous it is to eat while reading one of your recaps -- one of these days I'm going to be found dead on my couch, a piece of bagel lodged in my throat and a Flipit recap on my screen. This time it was the head vise screengrab that nearly did me in.
As for the contestants, I'm really liking Chris so far -- I thought that dress was gorgeous. I also liked Jack's piece and didn't mind Ricky's babydoll dress. I hated Rami's dress, it was so frumpy and blah. I'm shocked it won. But I like him, so I hope his future stuff is better!

Hey georgiababe:
It probably won't air until the new year in Canada because they are airing Project Runway Canada now with Iman (yawn). And if the last 2 seasons are any indication, it won't run on Bravo Canada either. It most likely run on Slice.
We'll just have to live vicarously thru TVgasm recaps. Sigh.

Hey Flipit,
Thanks for the tip, I'm outside the US as well, so I miss all the great Bravo shows you recap.
As for this recap it was brilliant as always. I'm a little behind on bestowing praise in my comments so this compliment also extends to my love for your recent Kitchen Nightmares recap.
What's with that guy (Kevin, was it?) coming in the first day and declaring how straight he is? What's the point of coming on the gayest show in existence only to try and shove the fact that you're straight down everyone's throat (wait, that sounds unintentionally dirty).
Rami is hot but that dress looked like a spruced up toga. Did anyone else notice that he looks exactly like Isaac on The Real World. Jewish guys with shaved heads are smoking hot, who knew.
And Flipit, please continue bashing those garment flower thingies, that just looks like something a grandmother would wear to church, when did that become the height of fashion?

great, just great,
nothing can beat your perfection...
you have spoiled me to all other recappers.....
i may have to sue you

Yay, it's BACK! And so is Flipit. Yay, yay, all around.
Okay, first, Rami's dress looked like a purse I once saw. It was like this, but had a stupid looking rosette:
www.bagsbuy.com/pi/indon/indon126533_54355_lg.jpg
I don't get him, or the praise heaped upon him; and his Jessica Alba dress was FUG! wth? Christian -- another one I'm not feeling. Literally and figuratively. I didn't like his outfit at all, but his bitchy attitude will undoubtedly prove fruitful. And Elisa is nuttier than a pecan pie.
Thanks for the recap!
