As the end of the day approaches, it's looking pretty scary around the work room. No one is near finished, Carmen and Ricky are bitching at each other loudly about having the right to be bitches, and straight guy's shirt looks like a jacket one of those girls wears at hairdressing college when poor women go in for a free haircut. This show always makes the situation look as dire as possible before revealing that everyone pulled it together at the last minute, but this time they might really not make it work.
If this is a sign of things to come, everyone's hair is gonna turn green.
The next morning, the designers are given four hours to finish before the runway show and SURPRISE!! We get to meet Elisa's boyfriend!
Oh, get a room, you two.
Sure enough, when time is called on the last day, there is more unfinished than not. Carmen has draped fabric around her model like a shawl because she didn't have time to make a shirt, Sweet P's shirt looks like a misshapen mess, and Ricky has his model sewing on buttons. As Christian says, "this is going to be a hard challenge to judge because there is so much that is jacked up." This is gonna be a bloody car wreck.
You know the Judges are prepared to rip everyone a new one when Heidi shows up on the runway bitchily schooling Tiki's wife on how to wear killer patterns. They are not fucking around today.
You got served, Liu.
Jillian's look is out first, and it's pretty tight and good lookin'. No surprise there, because she was hardly shown at all today. Carmen's up next, and it's a disaster. Not only does she not have a shirt, but the pants don't fit, the jacket is flimsy and poorly made, and she's topped it all off with a Mr. Furley goes golfing hat. Kors looks like he's gonna throw up right then and there. I can't imagine anyone other than a performance ice skater wearing Christian's shirt, and his jacket looks kind of hobo-y, but his pants are pretty sweet.
The best thing I can say about Kit Pistol's work is that it's finished. The worst is zzzzzzzzz. Khaki's, a navy blazer and the same shirt Tiki wore when you met him? Really? If the end prize was an internship at the GAP, you'd have this thing in the bag, Pistol.
For all of Rami's pissiness about making his pants all by himself, they sure are ill fitting. And his jacket looks like the windbreaker my Papaw used to wear to work at the gas station. Sweet P didn't find a way to make her unfinished shirt not look like shite, and I feel for her. Her pants look the best of everyone's so far, though, so it might just save her ass.
Steven went all 1930's musical on a cruise ship with his (extremely) high waisted slacks, tight tucked in sweater, and huge collar. I don't know if the world is ready for men's slacks that reach the nips, but I like Steven, I like the 30's, and I like Anything Goes. Plus, his work is finished and well made. Atta boy.
Victorya's slacks and sweater look well done, but her jacket is pretty hideous. I would call it International Male, but even they know how to draw a line somewhere. I'm just proud of her for not making a formless one piece with a belt from Bluefly. Straight guy didn't have time to make his blazer, and the resulting look is pretty boring. A pink shirt, a run of the mill suit vest with a safety pin button, and a decent pair of slacks. Ouch. I have a feeling this is the last time we will ever see a Menswear challenge on Project Runway. I say that with my fingers crossed.
Chris figured that since he was designing for someone who was into sports he would add humongous shoulder pads. Yikes. In his defense, Tiki did ask for something to minimize his giant ass. Jack's look is sloppy and baggy. His stripes are fighting, and the pattern he traced isn't doing his model any favors. The slacks are high waisted, but I don't think he did it on purpose. Thank God his model had the foresight to stuff a sock down the front of his pants. At least he'll get Kors' vote.

I was about to say, where are the hotties? Oh my god, that dark skinned Adonis with his gorgeous features...the one who had to deal with RickyBitch. I would take him home yesterday :).
Carmen deserved the boot she didn't even make a shirt. Making a crappy shirt is better than making no shirt at all.
On a different note, I can't see the nudies of SexyMuscularGay with HIV (poor thing, it broke my heart. First to hear that he was gay and second that he has HIV. At least he's not victimizing himself and appears to be in good health. Besides that whole HIV thing).

I'm so bummed that I can't see these episodes! My only PR fix is through the gasm. They are at least 1 season behind here in the UK and iTunes isn't showing PR this season like they did last season. What gives?

anyway, I was actually glad that they finally had a menswear challenge. Though I think it would have worked better if they didn't have to make so many pieces. Maybe that's the point of menswear though, is the number of pieces? I have no clue.
Glad Carmen's gone, but Ricky needs to be next. I'm worried about Jack -- remember when they were showing snippets of the whole season and Tim came into the room with Jack and said he had an announcement? OH NO!!! Jack don't leave!!!

Flipit I think that you hating Straight Guy's outfit had to do with the gay man vs. straight woman perspective. Me and my favorite gay man watched this ep together and we had the same argument... I loved it and he hated it. Give me a straight guy in a purple tie, with a pocketsquare ANYDAY! And how could you leave out the guy's comment that he finally understood the comment that straight men always made about the "hot models" around them? That cracked me up.
I was a bit puzzled that Jillian didn't get called out too. Her look was the most complete!
This episode made me realize that we need a PR with lots of naked male models. The more the better.

Hey Flip and co . . . hmmm, maybe it's me, but I think the straight guy's protesting way too much, waaaayyyyy toooo muuuuch!!! and call me crazy, that was the gayest outfit evah!!! NO . . . is it me . . . !?
I'm pretty much agreeing on the rest, and Ricky, well, he does seem to have some kind of black energy about him. Stephen was better this time, but gay collar--it was the embodiment of the guy Carly Simon singing about in "You're so Vain" (but not in apricot)--did he win that contest!?
Carmen was out of her league, I liked her personally though. I agree on Jillian--having such a complete look should have put her in the final call, and Jack, hmmm, good gamble on completed pieces, fug result . . . I would have gone with Chris' look--lots of black, but modern and stylish. I also think if they remake "Dark Crystal" Elisa gonna be busy!!!!
And a special thanks to you, Flippy, so rare to have a "male" exploitation reel . . . not that those twinks do anything for me, but still nice to have equal time!!!! ; )

I think straightguy looks kinda like Joey Fatone! (especially with the carefully crafted facial hair)
Sweet Pea kinda cracked me up this whole episode, she knew her design was jank, and the self depricating humor was great! I'm glad she didn't get booted, even though her shirt looked like the one Denise made for Theo on The Cosby Show back in the day.

Carmelicious . . . I totally agree, I find sculpted hair like that suspiciously gay---I know I could be sooo wrong, but still, such grooming attention, (and not doing much for him either, IMHO) and even though Joey Fatone was a straight Insync'er, I still can't miss the gay-ness of looking like a boybander--but I'm not hating, gay person that I am . . . .I'm just saying . . .

I agree.... worse PR ever!!! Thanks for the "Hotties" montage at the end. Glad Cameron is gone, I could not stand her hair with thhat big bun on top! ..... I really thought it should have been a double elimination, there were so many bad designs, maybe even a triple....

Not only the worst PR ever, but the worst season so far. With a group challenge, and a men's challenge I feel like we have no grasp on anyone's style yet. Granted I got drunk and watched all 3 episodes for a 3rd time while supposedly cleaning for my holiday cocktail party. I have this pesky feeling nobody's got a real personal vision.
I think its too easy to see who won't be making it:
Sweet Pea (went bankrupt for a reason), Christian (desperately apeing current trends with no clear slant of his own), Jack (Cute stuff with little to no fireworks- that and we know he got booted already from those pesky staph infection rumors), Kit "Shoot me Now, you Commercialized Drone" Pistol, Ricky- nuff said suckah. That sucks. That's a lotta people who are clearly gonnna bite it.
I'll grant Crazyface, Chris, and Steve the mid range of my hope.
And then Rami and Victorya, Straightguy, and Jillian the final four.
There. Who wants to bet?

Hey Jazzhandstheworld, I love a good throw down!!! I think you've done a good job slicing up the competitors, so I'll just stick with the top 5, say. I'll agree on Rami on top, but I think Christian, and oh hell, I'll say Chris, with Crazyface and Fatone. I think Jillian will lack creativity, but I'm anxious to see, Victorya's a one note, with the shapeless babydolls. I think Kit might do okay, Steven too. I agree on Jack, nice guy, wish him well, but underwhelmed myself.
It seems they'd rather have something outrageous than something boring, so see ya Ricky!

I want to comment on Heidi saying that the Straight Guy's outfit was to gay for Seal. I totally agree with you Flipit, I just saw Seal on the Victoria Secret Fashion Show and he was wearing a sequin suit! Hello!
