Last week's Real World/Road Rules Challenge: Inferno II ushered in one of the best twists I have seen in a long time, and it wasn't even dependent on a producer's fabrication of the situation or altering of the rules. After Beth was pretty much shit on by all of her teammates, she decided that when it comes to the Inferno, revenge is a dish best served cold. If nobody on your team likes you, why don't you just sabotage it so they don't win any challenges? The other team was never going to vote her into the Inferno, so she had the chance to go down swinging, and if the way she handled herself at the end of our previous episode was any indication, she was going to be swinging at a lot of people. Unfortunately that was not the case. Oh well, you really can't win them all.
After Beth had given me so much hope last week, she sort of reversed her idea of vigilante justice in favor of a slightly more mellow approach. She just left. She literally packed up her bags and went home. Some people are going to speculate that this was the work of the producers. I have to admit, Beth's departure was sudden, and she was kind of dodging the question about why she wanted to leave (she felt her property wasn't safe). Then again, she did say her best friend on the team was Karamo, so it's easy to understand just how detached from the rest of her team she must have felt.
As soon as Beth was gone, we were able to get an idea of what people really thought about her, and the verdict is that they talked about her in the same way. Didn't matter if she was heading to the airport or was sitting right next to them, they really didn't have very many good things to say about her.
I agree with much of what they said, but there are a couple of things that you have to understand. First, it really sucks when almost your entire team hates you, and to make matters worse, nobody is trying to defend you. Even if you don't like somebody, it's very rare to wish harm upon them or want their property to be destroyed. Second, the guys were talking a lot about how Beth talked a big game, but didn't have anything to back it up. Well, what the hell was she supposed to do to back it up fellas? Steven barely smacked Shane last year and he was eliminated. If Beth had tried to back up any of her tough talk, she would have been gone anyway.
With all that being said, it is very weak to simply leave the show. Beth, for the love of God, will you please just say no when Bunim/Murray asks you to do this shit next time? Luckily, the people we are left with are going to be good for just as much drama. One thing we can always count on from our Real World/Road Rules reality stars is the utter disintegration of any sort of logic abilities whatsoever.
The reward challenge was called "Shirt off my back". The teams had to don some clothes and swap these clothes with the person next to them. The challenge part of this competition was this all had to be done while trying to keep your footing on a balance beam that was suspended over the water.

I'm surprised no one felt threatened by Abram breaking the glass. Someone always feels in danger in these things. Maybe it's cause he is a veteran and rules don't apply to him.
Remember when Brynn threw a fork at Steven and he cried like a momma's boy.

Karamo is really tiny. He looks like a bobble head doll. Was his body this small on real world?

I agree lemon, karamo looks VERY thin, and no at the beginning of the real world he was a little more husky. But by the end he was looking a lot thinner.

I think part of it is that now Karamo is surrounded by guys that are buff, but also not intimidated by him or his crazy talk, unlike wussy Landon and MJ. Even though on this episode, Karamo actually made a lot of sense. I'm suprised that Karamo is even at the challenge, since he is not a "team spirit" kind of guy.
Speaking of looks, can anyone tell me why Beth's face looks so red all the time? Is that sunburn or acne or makeup or the Mark of the Fugly or what?

Hate to break it to ya but Veronica is all Cuban. I can't speak to tanning as a goal or an activity, but as a medium brown black person I can say that dark people darken quickly, effortlessly and well... let's just my tan lines from last summer are still here. Faint, but visible.

Lady J,
As a medium brown black person myself, I say that you can still tell when people have been in a tanning bed.

As a medium white person who usually turns tan and once in a while gains a rosy, lobster-ish hue if left out on Manhattan Beach too long, I also can... uh, what was I going to say again?

I think Karamo needs a burrito ( and not a weho burro, if ya know what I mean ).
I tan very fast too!

As my L'oreal True Match Super Blendable Powder informs me, as a "Cappuccino"-colored black person, I only get more delectably brown as the weather gets warmer, and quite quickly, I might add.
Soo, I feel as though we have all been "outed"! J-Unit is black, B-Side is white, and I am black. (Not that anybody ever wondered what I was, but I'm just sayin'.) I have always wondered who was what because I can't immediately tell by you guys' comments, which only further highlights the great writing skills you both possess.

Joslyn,
Actually, I am slightly disappointed. If people can't tell I have more soul than b-side and MYL, I'd have to say I've got big problems.
Also, if you checked out the team page http://www.tvgasm.com/team.php , you'll see we have semi-accurate representations of our earthly bodies.
Thanks for reading, and we hope you come and visit our new website - RainbowCoalitiongasm.com.

Yeah, truth be told, I pictured B-Side being the black guy, and you being the white guy, but like I said, I couldn't tell for sure. Trust me J-being a mystery is always more interesting than being obvious.
BTW, I knew MYL was white, no question.

umm... maybe its my self loathing jew coming out in me, but I feel offended you knew I was white. I grew up very black.

How could you be offended when that's what you are? MYL, you are adorably deranged.
And what does "growing up black" mean, exactly, anyway? Is that like growing up Gotti?

While we are in the process of ripping on Veronica (a fave past time of mine) she is overly tan and not in an attractive way. Someone hand that girl some SPF.
And while you are at it can someone please advise those women to stop wearing such light lipstick - they all seem to have the same horrible make up stylings that are anything BUT styling.
On Beth's red face the light lipstick makes her look like she was blowing a powder sugared donut. On Veronica's brown face...ok well it has the same affect. Then again knowing these girls - I wouldn't put it past them to score a little pastry oral.
