Chin(s) Up Brooke-aroo

HotToday was my first day back at work after going to Las Vegas after the weekend. Let's just say my hangover was extensive, as I got back on Monday morning, but I think I was still hungover today. Anyways, today when I was at work I nearly dozed off, and I was really nervous that my recap would be terrible since I was so exhausted. If last week's episode was on this week, my recap would have consisted of "BORING" in giant font, and maybe a picture or two and that's it. Luckily though, we got a fair amount of action including one big crazy breakdown. Keep reading to find out just how crazy it turned out to be...

First off this week we see everyone back at Outward Bound. Are you kidding me MTV? I thought we left all of this boring shit last week!

Actually, the show starts off with Brooke squealing, and it's coming from Davis's bed. She appears to have crawled into bed with him while she was only wearing a towel. Davis meanwhile, is clothed. Brooke tells us that she loves Davis because he's such a genuinely nice person. Apparently she's forgotten the problems she's had in the past with him, and also the fact that he talks behind everyone's back in the house. Aside from those two things, I'm still not sure he's a genuinely nice person. Brooke goes on to say that he passes her boyfriend test, so she's obviously in love with him now. That's healthy.

Throughout the moaning session Brooke was having, while naked, in bed with Davis, Tyrie was sitting at the computer nearby. Eventually curiosity got the best of him and he had to look and see what was going on. Brooke asks Tyrie where his friends are, and then we see Stephen in his bed looking like a 12-year old boy who's just seen a boob for the first time. Actually, it was kind of close to how Stephen looked when he saw Darnell making out with Jenn. Then Davis and Brooke had sex with Stephen and Tyrie watching and everybody became just a little bit closer.

Post-coitus we see Davis and Jenn walking to Spill. Davis was telling Jenn about how he hasn't really bonded with anybody in the house, and he names everyone in the house except for Brooke. So I would probably count that as a bond with someone in the house. Then he says that he could be closer with Tyrie but he doesn't think Tyrie can look past Davis being gay, which I think is kind of a low blow itself. Maybe it has nothing to do with being gay and Ty can't look past an n-bomb being dropped. Anyways, Davis tells us he'd rather have a guy friend that he can bond with, and I know how that goes. He wants someone to do guy things with, and I was just thinking that the last time I went shoe shopping with a group of girls. Wait, what does that say about me?

Davis tells Jenn that it's awesome that her and Colie are best friends in the house, and Jenn says she thinks Colie is a very cute girl. Hold on there sister. Let Davis set you straight. Davis doesn't think she's that pretty, and he tells Jenn this, not realizing that Jenn is going to go directly to Colie and relate the story but make it sound a lot worse.

Yeahandurfat
Yeah, and I think you're a little fat

But, oh, Davis isn't done. He goes on to say that he doesn't think Brooke is that pretty either, and then he mentions something about Brooke having two chins. At least he's not poking fun at something she can't control though, because that would be mean. Wait a second...

Withachin
And Brooke has a stupid dangling double chin. . .
Withbigteeth
And have you ever noticed Colies stupid teeth?

Stupidguyupthere
And then there's that stupid guy up there. . .

Well, not wanting to be left out, Jenn asks Davis what she needs to do. Davis says what we're all thinking, and that it's that she needs to get a truck-load of self-respect. And maybe lay off the makeup. Actually, he says she should lose some weight, but she's got nice boobs, pretty hair and a pretty face. Actually, it's probably good he didn't go into personality with any of these girls, because that would have just caused huge problems. However, with just a little constructive criticism, this whole thing should just blow over, right?

Shirtwiener:

Brooke is such an asshole, who the hell acts like that. When she was crying all evil in that closet she looked just like the Grinch. And why is MTV subjecting us to Jenn and Collie on more than 1 show? Their on the real world, the inferno, and some corny dating show. ENOUGH already with those vile ugly bitches.

slim:

@Anon 11:13 a.m.
The "corny dating show" is EXPOSED and Colie is on the date and Jenn is in the dumbass truck.

I think Davis is an asshole for saying all those things about the girls. He has no right. Plus Brooke did fly off the handle as she always does, but that is exactly what Davis wanted. He told the biggest mouth in the house what he thinks of everyone else. Notice how he didnt say shit about any of the guys?
Great recap, Treadinggnome.

MissKatrina [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I didn't know whether to laugh at Brooke or just stare at the TV, mouth agape. I alternated, just to cover my bases.

The guys being all over each other at the club KILLED me. What song were they singing? "Lean On Me?" "You've Got a Friend?" "It's Raining Men"?

P.S. Is The Inferno going to be recapped? I am in dire need of someone to make fun of CT.

YankeesFan [TypeKey Profile Page]:

While I definitely would not have reacted in the way that Brooke did, I totally understand how she felt. Davis acted like an asshole...you never tell a girl that she's "not the prettiest" It's hard for anyone to take, especially for someone who clearly has some mental problems. I also don't think Jen was trying to steal the limelight. She seems like a real genuine friend (when she's not drunk) and probably didn't want to hurt the other girl's feelings.

Definitely need an inferno recap! It seems like its gonna be an awesome season!

Did anyone else see on Perez that Heidi and Spencer talk on the mtv reality show about them as a couple, etc. but the link didn't connect to anything so I don't know what it said.

MissKatrina [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I read it, YankeesFan. Heidi and Spencer said they just like to have fun (they said that about 17 times), Spencer said he prefers staying in with Heidi to going to clubs (convenient since no clubs let him in) and Heidi had no comment on her newly acquired ta-tas. There was nothing else of substance.

superb:

the letter brooke wrote to davis reminds me of the letter tyler wrote to svetlana in key west

jozeyg [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Brooke is a psycho....seriously. Her having her exorcism attack in the bathroom was pretty scary. My mouth was wide open in shock. Yeah and I agree that the cameramen disappeared after that, in fear for their life.

Why would anyone go completely insane just because someone said you're not that pretty? Only crazy, self-absorbed people. She thinks she's the hottest thing around(hence the short shorts and heels) so when someone tells her she's not, it's just something out of this world to her....like how dare they!? c'mon now. don't her parents like help her or something? They're psychologists, they should.

And aren't gay guys usually blunt? They tell you exactly what they think. But i've never seen anyone get offended by it. One guy told me I went from looking like a 'good girl' to looking like a slut. Didn't hurt me, i thought that was the funniest thing i've ever heard. Jenn and Colie didn't really seem upset by what Davis said. Jenn was kinda laughing when she told Brooke and Colie. I don't think they really cared. But if Alex told Colie that she was ugly she probably would be ballin her eyes out. No wait, since it's Alex that's saying that then Colie would probably just say "alex is just telling me that because he's in love with me, we have a weird relationship" yeah, that sounds about right.

Inferno is back!!! i'm so excited.....awesome awesome show. I wonder if Jenn will sleep with every guy there? hmmm?

bakismaki [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Man I feel sorry for whoever ends up marrying Brooke. Talk about high-maintenance. She is pycho!

She just looked so immature and crazy. She went over the edge over something so petty and dumb. It made her look really insecure and shallow to boot.

sunshine858619 [TypeKey Profile Page]:

there was a good dose of brooke-goes-crazy but the sad thing is that aside from her being in love with davis, he really just broke her heart. she always says how special he makes her feel, so i think she really believed all his lovey-dovey attempts to get w/ her and it just shattered her frame of reference to hear that her "best friend in the house" would tell her that she really wasn't that pretty, especially since all his actions proved opposite.

they are a weird pair and oddly matched for each other!!

i really am starting to like jen, too, for some weird reason. i do not believe, either, that her attempt to hide what davis said about the other two girls was to keep the focus on her, just that she didn't want to be a hypocrite saying "davis talks so much ish behind your back" while doing the very same thing.

davis is an ass and just cannot stop running his mouth. he thinks he's way too cool... karma is a bitch, maybe this is why he got punched in the eye (not like its justified, but...) and next week when he tattles on jen to jared. davis, shut up!

Rock Star [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I'd be pretty pissed if one of my friends said "you're not the most beautiful girl in the world." Not because I think I am, but because that's just another way of saying "you're ugly." I wouldn't react like that, tho.

NYWord:

Havent seen episode yet, so my jaw metaphorically dropped when i read what brooke's dad said to her. no wonder she's a hot mess. the only thing shocking about what davis said though is that he didnt say it sooner.

Rock Star [TypeKey Profile Page]:

PS, did they seriously have sex? And did Davis seriously tell Jenn that she needed to lose weight?

madeyoulaugh:

Hey Anonymous. . .

Luckily Id idnt have to look it up sinc I got about 300 emails that night to tell me. but in fairness to me, Im stupid, so....yeah.

Thanks for watching and thanks for having great taste in both hilarity and cuteness.

karina:

Saul, thanks for not being sensitive about my comment. The after show with you and Miami dan and Denver cast slut boy, I forget his name... the in(s)ane episode, freaking awesome. I thought I disliked that kid from Denver but the three of you were on the same trip that day. Laughed my ass off alone in bed. By the way unclothed, with my laptop on my stomach. Macs get hot. Thanks

cattyone:

OK, people, a few items need to be cleared up.
1.Brooke and Davis did NOT have sex..they were kidding around.2. Jenn was NOT trying to keep the focus on her..she is a caring person who didn't want to hurt the other girls.3. Brooke went ape.... because she thought she could trust Davis and he proved her wrong. 4. Brooke had been sleeping in Davis's bed to get away from what was going on in the girls' room..that was what her dad meant when he asked her who she was sleeping with. 5. These recaps are funny but the writer really needs to get his/her facts straight.

HereKittyKitty:

Thank god there was no more Outward Bound this week, and thank god for Brooke not taking her meds. This was one of the most entertaining episodes of this season, if only because Brooke went batshit crazy.

The Inferno has Tyrie, Colie and Jenn. That has to guarantee us some sex.

Chee-Z-TeeVee Addict:

Brooke is like a crazed and evil Betty Boop; and even though the whole thing was incredibly disturbing to watch, her death-threat to Davis made me chuckle a little. That girl could definitely give old Linda Blair a run for her money.

I predict many B-Movie roles in which Brooke plays "Non-Virgin #2". Typically a role that involves being hacked, sliced, impaled, or hung to death by A) Jason, 2) Michael Meyers, or 3) OJ Simpson.

Davis is an instigating ass. The most offensive thing to me however, about his critical run-down of the girl's appearance was how he treated Jenn.

He was WAY too nice. I am incredibly disappointed in Davis. Failing to bring up the utter travesty of Jenn's unfortunate eyebrow artistry was just plain unforgiveable. Seriously, you could write an entire Whore's Manifesto on the space between her eyelid and whatever it is that's passing for an eyebrow. If she used reflective eye shadow it would be like staring directly into the sun. (I posted this last paragraph elsewhere on here, but was too lazy to paraphrase).

Am I reading too much into it, to find at all symbolic that Brooke was hiding in the closet?

Blah Blah [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Damn, the one episode I miss sounds like the best one yet...

To all those people who are just now realizing what a mess Brooke is, I hate to say it (no I don't) but I TOLD YOU SO!

Also, Davis is a real jerk. It's one thing to be honest (good), but it's another to be blunt to the point of hurting your "friend's" feelings, and for what? Nothing! There's nothing constructive in telling a friend "you're not the prettiest girl in the world", especially if said friend is already an overly sensitive person.

Brooke, get a clue and dump Davis as your "best friend in the house." The house closet is a better friend to you than Davis.

roleepolee:

"Failing to bring up the utter travesty of Jenn's unfortunate eyebrow artistry was just plain unforgiveable."...lol, You're the best...

I really hate Davis. He's a perfect example of a mean spirited, self centered white trash, that thinks he's the shit, when in reality, he's nothing but a typical confused, uninteresting cock sucker who likes it in the ass. I bet his family disowned him cause his a genuine prick, and not because he's gay. I don't even think he's gay. He just likes getting it from behind.

Now, don't think I'm defending Brooke, cause this time, I'm not. For her to go apeshit like that from hearing someone talk crap about her was very immature. But you have to understand that she got insulted by a person who she trusted....I just don't like the new brooke, with the big ass boob job and all. She was pretty cool, but now she seems like a bitch. I guess that's what happens when you have "friends" like Davis.

So from this point, everyone has snapped at one point or another, except for Alex. I just hope Colie pushes his buttons so that he'll snap too. But somthing tells me he'll just be running into the phone room and cry to his mom. He should take his anger out on Colie!

Jenn sucks, both literally and figuratively...

Chee-Z-TeeVee Addict [TypeKey Profile Page]:

roleepolee,

Have I told you lately that I love you...?

lol!

How irritated were you that we really can't bang on E. Colie this ep? She might be on the turnaround! Shit, I'm going to have to admit to Ashley that I MIGHT, MIGHT have been SLIGHTLY off in my judgement!

Which would absolutely suck if Ashley weren't such an obvious sweetheart!

OK. E. Colie - DON'T fuck it up on the Inferno - Davis might be on the shit list now!

God, I'm getting soft in my old age, I'm going to have to hate on Jenn now..................

Chee-Z-TeeVee Addict [TypeKey Profile Page]:

PS - treadingonme - DAMN good work under hangover conditions! LOL!

PPS - Rock Star - we agree! I might start to love you again.... IF you play your cards right. ;-) (just kidding... i really would miss you if weren't here though... I like your snark!)

Blah Blah... I'll admit it. You were right all along. (hanging head in shame...)

Rusty-Nail:

LMFAO Chee-z,
The best thing about the recaps are the comments after the recap.
Those eyebrows of Jenn's are so horrendously hilarious.
(Seriously, you could write an entire Whore's Manifesto on the space between her eyelid and whatever it is that's passing for an eyebrow. If she used reflective eye shadow it would be like staring directly into the sun.)
Omg I'm imagining Jenn as a poster child for solar energy, her eye shadow being solar panels powering the RW house.

Awesome recap Treadinggnome.

Ashley:

I thank you for the compliment, I kinda enjoy you too, as much as I hate to admit it you make me LOL.

Colie was put on the good guys team. That has got to mean something! Using your standards as a guideline for her "turnaround", it probably wont last long. But I will defend her every step of the way. It was cool of her to try to help Brooke out of her "dressing area" HELL knowing how they feel about eachother. So lets add up items in the plus column and save them for the future. Did you notice how nice her hair looked?

I don't think I should badmouth any roomates, yet.

Chee-Z-TeeVee Addict:

I'm amazed anyone dared to step into B. Boop's closet of homicidal ideation! THAT is worth some serious points in my book! So E. Colie deserves some credit there for sure.

I kept waiting for Brooke to levitate and projectile vomit split-pea soup all over the place. Her crazy-"I Will KILL Davis With My Bare Hands!" face - was hilarious. And of course it locked in irrefutable proof that Davis' comment about B. Boop's face was accurate.

Davis = -5 Points (For being an instigating ass)

Brooke = -10 Points (It's automatic when your crazy)

E. Colie = 10 Points (2 Grooming, 3 Maturity, 5 For Entering Lair of Blair)

Chin Flap = 25 Points (For providing basis of entertaining hissy fit)

BTW - Ashley if you can't badmouth the 7 roommates, you can badmouth the 8th roommate. Jenn's crazy eyebrows - they have their own zipcode and center of gravity.

Ashley:

ROFL

But will deny writing that..besides there are so many more roomates then 7...There is Leroy,Darc Kent, Mr.Emu...and several more.

Chee-Z-TeeVee Addict [TypeKey Profile Page]:

LMAO!

I forgot about the alter-egos! I guess the chin flap might count toward another roommate as well.

LOL! :-)

Ashley:

I am just about ready to talk REAL REAL BAD SHIT about Brooke. She is not as she apperars.
She brings new meaning to snobby stuck up, self centered bitch. She's not crazy. Everything you see her do is well planned and calculated. Ill see if anyone cares if I blogg it.

Chee-Z-TeeVee Addict [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I'm interested.

I might think she's hilarious, but believe me - I'm laughing AT, NOT with!

Do tell..... ;-)

Ashley:

I cant tell..what i can't find somewhere on the net. She did some real nasty things to others to make herself look good.

I did find on another site (and I have known for a while that it is true) that she has a steady girlfriend. I am not a homophobe so who cares. But why did she keep it secret?

Toyah:

Brooke is MTV Gold. She is quintessential crazy. I would not be watching if it weren't for the possibility of a Brookedown. I am even more amazed at the fact that she has such blaringly obvious developmental issues in spite of her parents being psychoanalysts/psychologists. In my humble opinion, this behavior stems from Brooke not getting her way and throwing tantrums as a child and not being told that as she got older this was no longer an exceptable method for seeking attention. In my youth, i'd get smacked upside the head for this type of behavior. Think about it, her outbursts are no different from the little kid we all see in the supermarket that wants something that mommy or daddy refuses to buy, fast-forward 15 or so years and here we have Brooke displaying similar behavior. I love it!

Ashley:

Toyah... you have it almost exactly right. She DOES get her way after throwing those tantrums. Watchout because if you stand in her way she will smack you down with any weapon available. She is the most evil person I have ever met.

Chee-Z-TeeVee Addict [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Well, I read about The Great Sapphic Rebellion. LOL!

I also figured even before the show began, that with BOTH parents being psychologists AND B. Boop being an only child - a true "Miracle Child" if you will, that she was going to be a raging nutcase.

I generally find her kind of amusing, sort of like I find Quentin Tarantino movies kind of amusing. Disturbing yes, yet still amusing. Would I EVER want to hang out with her? NO!

If her parents know anything about being psychologists, they'll cut her off the financial teat - and establish the expectations most parents have for their ADULT children regarding, behavior, finances and social conduct. I'm guessing they won't though.

I agree Toyah, she behaves EXACTLY like an enraged 3 year old. Which is why I think the bitch needs a serious time-out. In a residential psychiatric facility.

I don't think she was even drunk for that fit. I'll bet if she was dealing with people whose opinions REALLY mattered to her, she would have no problem controlling that crap. She's not immature, she's just a goofy asshole.

Personally, if I were in the house this would be the point at which I would draw the line. Control yourself, get help to learn how to control yourself, or get out.

Boop also needs a makeover - she is in SERIOUS 70's Linda Ronstadt territory - and that is NOT meant in a good way. She and Davis are starting to remind me of low-rent, reality tv version of Bonnie and Clyde - but less interesting. And less attractive.

Chee-Z-TeeVee Addict [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I haven't flipped.

I've always said Brooke is nuts. Hilarious, but nuts. I've also said that she clearly comes from a very priveledged socio-economic background. After a scene like that, it's kind of hard to avoid addressing the obvious, don't you think?

E. Colie, admittedly to my surprise, acted with maturity. She braved the Lair of Blair, AND most importantly, her hair was combed. I give credit where credit's due.

I'm not a black and white kind of girl; I like to think of myself as an equal opportunity, reality tv personality insult specialist. Ultimately, unless they're being bullied by other cast-mates (Svetlana, for example), I try my best to insult all of them.

I gave Janelle from RW: Key West the same courtesy - she was a flaming rag for most of the season, but when she stopped bullying Svet, I guess I did a cautionary little "mini" flip! LOL!

For the sake of consistency - I will NEVER change my opinion about Jenn's wacky eyebrows. NEVER.

Chee-Z-TeeVee Addict:

FYI -I posted this after the first episode:

I have a feeling Brooke is going to be good for some crazy-time. Both parents being shrinks pretty much guarantees that she's going to be a nut-job.

I had kind of hoped that the ratio would be 4 girls to 3 guys. More girls usually = more drama!

Posted by: Chee-Z-TeeVee Addict | November 25, 2006 10:25 PM(#40 of 62)

Rock Star [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Well, it's like 4 girls to 3 guys, because Davis is kinda like a girl. A bitchy, pretty girl.

alligatorwings [TypeKey Profile Page]:

OMG—the eyebrow thing was exactly what I was thinking—how the hell did THAT get left out of the mix???? Cheez--you haven't lost your touch!!!

Brooke is the typical psychologist’s child---a freak beyond belief. I am sure she was just engaging in scream therapy as a way of dealing with her “issues”. Someone needs to tell her ass to get over it—and that despite her own deluded opinion, the world owes her nothing, nor doesn’t revolve around her. Every time things don’t go her way she throws a tantrum. Every time she isn’t put on a pedestal—or has to do something she doesn’t want to and people tell her to deal or to shut up—she avoids accountability by throwing a tantrum over what they have said to her. She uses the her rage as a way of intimidating people into getting her own way or distract from the issue at hand. Brooke and Shawn are masters at justifying their own bullshit and avoiding any acceptance of blame or responsibility. It’s always someone else’s fault or failure, never theirs.

Davis is a typical piece of shit scene queen who has as many issues as Brooke, it’s just that his are more subtle. He’s a gay man who wishes he were straight—a guy whose used to treating women like playthings as a way of dealing with his internalized homophobia. However, since he can’t really BE straight, he takes out his frustration and rage on them (all the nasty comments). Its not that he’s gay—it’s that they aren’t beautiful enough for HIM--so it's their fault.

What happened to the Christian boy? The drunk, instigating, racist bitchy queen that has come to replace him sure is a far cry from the initial persona he wanted us to buy. Many young cute gay men get so validated by the gay and straight world that they become HUGELY self-righteous and judgemental. This is ironic, given that they should know what it feels like to be judged, despised, and treated badly for something they have no control over. Judging people for their physical appearance and what it is or isn't is no different than judging someone for being gay, so that makes Davis a hypocrite. I think he needs to worry less about people accepting him even though he's gay and instead focus on why they accept him even though he is a two-faced arrogant asshole.

Chee-Z-TeeVee Addict [TypeKey Profile Page]:

alligatorwings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YAY! You're back - WHERE have you been?!?!?!?!?! I've missed you!

PLEASE tell me your sticking around for thr rest of the season - AND the Inferno III is looking pretty good too!

:-) <-----Chee-Z Grin!

Rock Star [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Who's Shawn??!!!!

alligatorwings [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Oops--I meant Stephen--as you can tell by the many typos--it was a LOOOOONG day yesterday.

Cheez--I've been reading the posts and watching the show, but incredibly busy as of late. This season SUCKS big time, dontcha think? Why makes you think the Inferno will be worth watching?

Chee-Z-TeeVee Addict [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I'm a Chee-Z Ball! They are ALL worth watching! LOL!

C'mon alligatorwings! Stick with me!!!!! ;-)

Rock Star [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Oh, whew, I thought there was a member of the Bunim-Murray clan that I had missed or something...

nerrawllehctim [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Wow, Brooke put on another great performance. I wonder if "Burn in hell" is gonna be the new "YOU SHOULD HAVE STAYED IN PHILLY, YOU LOW LIFE B***H!"

Coco Grace [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I've been floating the boards for awhile and I feel like a part of it even though I've never commented.

I have to say, I think Colie was the only rational and normal one in this episode and I have to admit I was impressed with the way she rolled off Davis' comments about her. It's hard for anyone -especially women to let comments about their physical appearance not bother them or internalize them somehow.

I did agree with Davis' assessment on everyone though, but he should've kept it to himself. The only thing I was wondering, why didn't he mention Brooke's drawn out, haggard and dopey like look when she's not wearing makeup. She looks like she's about 40 and on too much xanax without her makeup. I never ever noticed the double chin and think round faces are kind of cute (Maybe I think that because I have a round Irish face of my own :)
